Most of Dutch truckdrivers actually love their jobs. Being away for days or weeks the truck becomes their home away from home. Seeing a truck wrapped in a Transformer or Rammstein design to name a few puts a smile on my face and most of the times a thumbs up to the driver who then responds with blowing the horn and also a smile on his/her face. It is true here in The Netherlands you can see real pieces of art on the road. 👍🏻
Long nose trucks are allowed anywhere. The problem is that There are limits how long the truck trailer combination can be. That is why you rarely see Torpedos, becouse trucks are there to maximize money flow and therefor companies want to have as little as possible space wasted.
Truckers are well respected in the Nederlands the truckers where I live do a lot for older and the sick people like on Christmas they wil drive around in the parts of towns with nice lichts where the older live and people that need medical help just to show some love they are absolutely amazing people Edit: not just one town they wil drive around for 5 hours just to give a smile
Echt he dat zie ik nooit in Duitsland Amerika oostenrijk alleeen in brazil (eng tralation) fr tho i never see these custom truck in germany usa only in brazil
Cabover ( C O E ) trucks are not long nosed trucks, they are flat nosed trucks with no hood. Conventional trucks have a hood. Also the red and Stuat Nicols Transport T cab Scania in the beginning is British 👍
The "long nose" trucks have the same wheel base as regular cabovers, the chassis hasn't changed they just move the cabin backwards and add a long hood, it makes no difference to lenght regulations neither does it make taking corners harder.
They order a long chassis. And then place the cab backwarts. They are longer. They are not legal with normal trailers. The legal length stays the same. You see the most bull nose trucks with trailers that are shorter then a normal cooler or something like that. Sometimes they put a LZV certificat on it. (Lzv means long heave truck) normal you see them with a normal front steer cab, trailer and behind it a shorter trailer. But you can be longer. Max length is 25.25 meters wit a LZV.
Dutch ex trucker here, 02:00 isnt completely true, you cant have extra lighting and it will be enforced on by the police. You can mount as many lights as you'd like but they cant be turned on. Of course they all are turned on, but when stopped by the police do expect a heavy fine. Same for heavy horns, blue/red beacons, tinted windows and even cut off exhaust systems, same goes for the trailer accessories. Its "Gedoogd", but definitely not legal, sadly enough.
as a dutch trucker these ''truckers'' are the biggest clowns you can have as a co-worker they put money into something that isnt theirs and will bitch and whine if you dont do something with yours....
In Nederland verdiend een eigen rijder 6x zoveel dan als hij in loondienst werkt. Dus is er geld genoeg voor het pimpen van een truck. En als eigen rijder betaal je bijna geen belasting.
Long nose trucks are allowed all over Europe and UK. The length laws in each country is what depicts if it is worth driving a long nose, also, ans more important is manoeuvrability and vision.
It’s not that hard we love trucks and and if you are a trucker you are part of a family and you want to show of and show people who you are it’s like a identity
Sweden and FInalnad has alot more modded Trucks then rest of Europe also for example Swedish scania Ledgend SVEMPA trucks Lonfnose trucks also allowed here And sweden and finland can have bigger and heavier trucks. 34,5 meters truck n trailer and 75 ton
My father's old company had a scania torpedo in poeldijk (near The Hague) at the beginning of the 2000s, bright yellow with blue company logo stickers " JLM intertrans "
Truckers has to be careful with modification beacuse lights or bumpers or any other things allowed in Holland are banned in Germany for example. It is funny cause they are neighbours. I heard about german police and fines for too many lights or oldschool steering wheel.
Well the regulatory thing is more of a condownment of visual things. If a cop has a shit day they will ticket you for having double burners hella lights etc. Its not a witch hunt but cops can do it
Fun fact, the Scania Torpedo trucks, and the Volvo ones are all normal cabover trucks that get modified by the Dutch company Vlastuin.
They are cool 👍
Hey man, that's a different Vlastuin from d-tec trailers in Kesteren right??
same with the DAF XT
Norway also has torpedo truck builders
but the series between 1-4 had factory made torpedos
If it ain't Dutch, it ain't much.
Rhymes real well
❤very true

I think most of the truck drivers in general loves their jobs. Or at least big number of us. You can’t really do this job if you don’t like it.
that long engine bay scania in 0:03 is one of my fav trucks, they are rare where i live
