For those interested, the insulation panels are made by InSoFast. They have built-in plastic studs with the ability to hold as much weight as standard wood studs.
Grew up surfing in FL. Had a board shaped on my deck. I'm an old man now and retired in Wyoming. I just enjoyed this cause its all the stuff I wanted when I was a kid. Do it for yourself. No pressure is they way. Enjoy life friend. Thanks for the video. I'll watch more.
Wow, so creative! Turning a container into a workspace like this is truly impressive. The space is compact yet fully functional, both modern and with a touch of personality. The way you’ve arranged the interior and designed the lighting is especially well done. It's a fantastic idea for anyone looking for a unique and private workspace. Congrats on a successful project!
Wow,ive never seen those insulating panels made especially for containers😮. And they have some sort of embedded stud to fix plasterboard to as well? Great idea. Nice job,my man👍
If I ever use a shipping container I now know what kind of insulation to get. Now, I'm new to the channel and very impressed. THE DUDE knew exactly where everything goes, down to the last screw. Liked and subscribed.
First time watching you, awesome video! I see why you got those nice awards - great talent! I really enjoyed watching you build the surfboard work shop? When I was a teenager living in VA Beach, VA, I had a custom WRV surfboard 🏄♂️ I used. I will save your video to actually use some of your build methods and materials for when I build my own work shop 👍
Next thing you could do is put in a side draft ventilation vacuum. I bet that would really help keep the dust down and make for some really fast cleanup.
Quick question mate. Comparing the price of this container and all the insulation, wouldn’t have been best to get e refrigerated container? You can buy the ones with the damaged engine because in reality you just need the container itself, They have an amazing insulation already. I don’t know how much you spent here but my opinion is that it would’ve saved you the time of installing all insulation. Nonetheless, fantastic work!
Per square meter (foot) shipping containers are among the highest priced builds. They seem cheap because you get no square foot...per square foot they are stupidly expensive. ..and hideous, let's not forget how hideous and distopian these pieces of scrap look 😂😂😂
If you’re comparing to other ways to build a shaping shed, might be yes given the current price os steel plate. But if you take in account the robustness, easiness to setup and versatility this is by far the best option ( if you don’t have a garage or shed you could use). Also you can customize a container in almost every way you could think of so as to blend in your property.
Tanner, I saw your video on Quantum Tech HD’s UA-cam channel and I posted this same thing there but I was not sure if you would see it or not. So, after going to your UA-cam channel, which I must say is awesome! I decided I would post my post here for you to see. I love your shop that you built. I love the styrofoam that you used for your insulation. I am thinking of using conex container boxes to build a small second home with shop and I had been looking at spray foam but now I will have to take a look at the styrofoam like what you used. I like how it is preform to the shape of the conex container. The only thing that I would have recommended would have been to run your electrical in the valley of the container and cover it with your styrofoam and drywall making it all inside the walls. Since you are limited on space I would think that you would like to keep the walls clean giving you as much room inside from way to wall as you can get since you are working on surfboards. Either way, you did one hell of a job. If you make any updates to your new shop I hope you post another video! Now that I have found your UA-cam channel I will have to go back and watch all the video you have on your shop. Again great job!!

If i had to critique one aspect of this video it would be the fact that you did the ceilings last… Any drywaller (or builder for that matter) knows you should do ceiling first then walls so the sides of the ceilings are supported
This is great! I’m curious about why yo didn’t put the electrical in the wall? Seems like you could’ve saved money by not using conduit, and it would’ve been a bit more clean looking. But maybe you wanted access in the future for modification?

You’re right it will hold. We appreciate you filling up the comments section with confirmation of the facts already stated in regards to the foam having built in studs.
Very nice. It would’ve been considerate to spruce up the outside, seeing how you put it right on the property line and basically just stuck a shipping container in their front yard that only detracts from their property value and serves them no purpose. Unless they are surfers and you make them free boards, or maybe they’re horrible people. Sorry to be that guy, but shit I’d be pissed.
Lol well, at the end of the video he showed the outside and theres a short vert ramp for skateboarding on one side and a camper trailer on the other. If anything he may have raised the value :P

Really? I thought, “wow what a cool build!“ After I was done watching it. It looked like space was a concern so he had to go with something smaller, but also portability will help him take that anywhere. And if he wants to sell it one day, I think it will hold up higher value than, a large shed…
@@ChrisPerrin-kh1rbEXACTLY, and with the spray foam along the edges the condensation shouldn’t be a problem, although it didn’t look like he used closed cell foam, But still probably fine if he is in a dryer state.

Also, what's the final interior width after drywalling?

You made it like board, very precise craftmanship 😅 You gonna glass in it or build an other glassing bay?
Great job but you go to all that effort to run steel conduit then you leave exposed cable hanging out from light fittings..?
If you dont mind sharing-what was the total cost? I envy your ability to do so much of this alone!

You can buy Boeing 747 with the damaged engine and make the shed.
