    i loved this. minimal talking, just doing. you learn so much more this way. i wish there would be somebody that just shuts up and mixes a song, i'm sick of tutorials.. especially that 99% of tutorials showcase a song that was mixed already in the past...

    I kept pulling peaks down and raising others and seemed to get to a point where it wouldn't let me raise or lower any more, so I just added another instance of the Q3 and carried on where I left off on the last one. I ended up with three instances in total. Flicking the three on and off is like night and day! Without the Q3 on it sounds awful without it and perfect with them all enabled. This is in addition to every track having its own tweaked Q3 on it too. This thing is like a magic wand gets waved over it.

    pro2 was always our main EQ, but Proq3 is the game changer!
    Thank you for the amazing video!

    Very helpful! Would this type of processing also work for rock and metal? Or is it better suited for pop and electronic stuff? Thanks

    The only two things it needs is attack and release controls for dynamic eq! And sidechain input to the dynamics. I'm sure this will be added in the near future 👍🏻

    • @asmundma
      @asmundma 5 років тому +2

      Not sure, the sidechain is already in the multi band compressor

    • @asmundma
      @asmundma 5 років тому

      L_ A_ what do you mean? I commented on sidechain for dynamic mode. However they now have added that, so the plugin is even better. If my go to EQ.

    Thanks for your video. I too picked up Fab ProQ3 and can see its pluses over static eq - but as a composer primarily - not necessarily a great mixer -who's interested in producing quality demos, here are my 2 questions: 1) Why would anyone even bother to use static eq anymore? and 2) are there ANY more uses for multiband compression now that we have dynamic eq? If so, please explain when you would prefer the old approaches. Doesn't dynamic eq change everything and shouldn't all the mixing textbooks be re-written? Thank you.

    Hmm… Pro-Q 3 has a lot of great new features, but nothing he did here was anything that couldn't already have been done with Pro-MB. This doesn't really show of any of the really cool new stuff, like the masking indicator, Pro-Q 3 instances list, the flat tilt, or any of the other stuff that Pro-MB couldn't already do. The plugin is way more powerful than this video shows, but I'm finding it pretty buggy. It's got some weird inconsistencies with how the side chaining, masking indicator, and instance naming feature work between the AU, VST2 and VST3 versions. It's still got some real glitches that need fixing.
