We never experienced this at all in the MG3 @Antho2030, and we took it on a 900 mile road trip, which included us flooring it up hills on numerous occasions. Have you driven it yourself? Thank you.
Well another good unbiased review ,did you get invert to give the zs a test drive before they go to the dealers,I was looking a used Toyota cross I'm driving a 12 year old reo diesel and thought I'd go for something higher as I'm now 71 so I read about the new mg3 which with all the safety Tec is important as you get older , The old mg3 isn't a bad height but the new one is a little lower But doesn't have 40 60 split rear seats which is important when I take my sister on holls ,or do I wait and see if they put them in ,or go for the zs which you say has even more, but is it to big for just two the size doesn't bother me I drove vans decisions I'm just going get a good test drive of them both .thank As I drove vans
Thank you David, I’d say the ZS is more likely to suit, a decent size split seats which we missed in 3, and just as fun, not too naggy or too big. I use to drive vans too delivery driver in my trusty Transit, now it’s Merc vans on the channel, which I love - keep us posted on what you decide
The last time I drove a Dacia was a few years ago, and it was pretty good also do you need the 4x4? MG has seriously excelled since the early years, much like Kia did.
Yes perfectly, we drove the MG3 over 900 miles to test that, due to the powerful electric motor you won’t notice it, it seamlessly shifts regardless of incline.
We totally agree with you, @badminverse2136. It's exceptional value, and a serious improvement over the previous gen, which was already a good car. Thank you.
Looks a great car for the money. I have last model ZS ii 1.5 and its not missed a beat. Only criticism is that its a bit underpowered on motorway driving, so thats been rectified in this model. You mentioned " alert sensitivity" - can you expand
That’s great to hear, I presume it means you can adjust how much or volume it nags, as we only had a few hours with the car, we couldn’t fully explore everything. Thank you Aldo
Does the heated seats have heat level selection the old zs o ly had on off? Interesting that the new ZS is departing from the ZS EV looking forward to see what the ZS Ev will look like.
The only problem we seem to have is that the main dealer seems to be having trouble registering the car . delivery seems to keep being put back. although the car I bought is at the garage
@nigelford936 oh no, I know certain brands are having problems registering certain new vehicles, MG had this problem when PHEV launched, hopefully it’ll get sorted soon Nigel.
Consider the MK1 ZS (SUV) could be had in its cheapest form for less than £13k only back in 2017/18…. MG3 used to cost less than £8k - sure, they’ve really improved by MG have increased their prices as much if not more than other brands - when you consider they are made in China, they are pretty expensive in £’s. They could sell them for less and still make a profit.
This is why I mentioned the price increase and my iPhones made in China, as is our Canon, and numerous other tech, always had good quality from reputable brands from China, copy stuff not so much - MG price according to there competition, it’s better equipped and equally built therefore it’d be foolish to underprice plus only Kia offer a 7 year warranty like MG.
@PlanetautoUK more than the space, the defining requirement for me is 'how easy it is to load a rearward facing child seat' and 'can I fit a pram and a few grocery bags in the back'.
My new car channel, no bull shit just honest reviews
High praise indeed, @markcarson8 - we say it as we see it. Thank you for your kind words - and welcome! Ben and Annabelle
It's time for Mg to release 7 seater SUV! Great review 👍
That's a great idea, @ridehead8771. Glad you enjoyed the review.
We have here in the Philippines it's called the G50 Plus, a rebadged Maxus G50
We have Maxus Mifa 9 and Mifa 7 here in the UK.
ooh thats a big step up from the old one - cant wait to see one in person!!!
Exactly our thoughts, just wait until you drive it Kris 🥷
Hi thinking about MG HS when will hybrid come on the market.
Good question, we’ll see what we can find out Philip
Is the problem of power loss on highway uphill has been fixed on this model compared to the MG3 ?
We never experienced this at all in the MG3 @Antho2030, and we took it on a 900 mile road trip, which included us flooring it up hills on numerous occasions. Have you driven it yourself? Thank you.
Thanks for the great review guys and keep up the good work. Any idea when it will be arriving at MG dealers ?
Glad you enjoyed it, @Markyreg. They are due into dealerships next month. Not long to go now! More to come. Thank you.
Does it have an outside temperature gauge (the old one doesn’t)? Great review, thank you.
Good question, il go through the B Roll and check and thank you Norfolk Boy

Thinking between this one and the Dacia Duster, wich I’ll choose 4x4. Any recommendations?
The last time I drove a Dacia was a few years ago, and it was pretty good also do you need the 4x4? MG has seriously excelled since the early years, much like Kia did.
It. Not 4 wheel drive
.
@tarakanjana4482 indeed, the only awd is MG4 X Power
I enjoyed watching the video review, My favorite MG SUV particularly In Trophy Trim 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it Jamie
Is this the Hybrid Version of MG Astor?
Let me know its ground clearance
No this is completely new, Astor looked to be on the previous platform, would you still like the ground clearance 3077?
@@PlanetautoUK yes plzz
It appears to be around 160mm, that was the previous gen - il update if I can find anymore info
@@PlanetautoUK oh ok, that's so low..
I’ve found one here 177mm think it depends on region and gen
Is the 3 speed auto workable?
Do you mean kick downs etc Mandy?
@@PlanetautoUK No I mean does it work well with 3 speeds whereas most are autos have ,6 or 7 gears..
Yes perfectly, we drove the MG3 over 900 miles to test that, due to the powerful electric motor you won’t notice it, it seamlessly shifts regardless of incline.
Very good car for the price

Yes, that was my interpretation too- I hope it's not only volume as some of these alerts are too intrusive and I turn them off each time.
@AldoScotia when we have if for a road trip we’ll do a deeper dive on it 😀 thank you
So even at low speeds it wont run on just electic motor? What was your MPG over that 900 miles?
Yes it does as i mentioned, do you mean the MG3+ road trip?
@@PlanetautoUK I mean what was your total miles per galon/ liters per 100km?
We travelled 5 miles, that’s a question for when we do a road trip 😀
Does the heated seats have heat level selection the old zs o ly had on off? Interesting that the new ZS is departing from the ZS EV looking forward to see what the ZS Ev will look like.
Il have to check the B roll 🫢 it will be interesting to see where EV goes
I have the 2023 zs ev for 1 year and not had any issues with it so waiting to see the new one. Great review as always guys keep up the good work.
@shaun159 thank you Shaun for the kind words, we’ve heard it’s likely to be related to 4 🤫
what about mileage test?
Until we can get on review, and go on a real world driving adventure, we cannot tell you - sorry, @kittnatkiatlwacharakul6148
and remember the gear lever is modelled on the key shape
Oh I never noticed that - thank you
Czy on jest cały ocynkowany wraz z dachem? MG3 nie ma ocynkowanego dachu.
On MG cars, the steel is galvanised, but the bodies were electrocoated. Thank you.

Have you any plans to review the new omoda 5 in the near future
Oh yes, I take it you’ve seen the first look on both 5 and e5 😀 Nigel? - we’ve got it in Oct
@PlanetautoUK yes I watched it Ben. I ordered my c5 noble about two weeks ago hoping to take delivery this week was really impressed
@nigelford936 ooo exciting, please keep us posted and thank you

Air vents look very familiar
MG or something else? We love the way that a Lamborghini Aventador has Ford Focus side repeaters...
Consumption?
55mpg ish
I average 58
Nice car.
Thank you Tony

My new car
Good choice, @tomorrowme3133 - what trim and colour have you chosen?
Still no prices in spain
Oh, when are they expected me?
With out and with Financing prices in Spain
ZS standard 22990€ / 20490€
ZS comfort 24990€/21990€
ZS luxury 26990€/23990€
Thank you for sharing this 😀
Theres a BMW X3 look to that back end to my eye, and thats no bad thing in my opinion.
I thought similar towards the rear quarter, I think it looks very smart Gary, thank you
@@PlanetautoUK certainly an improvement on the outgoing which wasn't bad looking at all. As you said, MGs design language on point right now.
@garybarry9365 yes indeed, and they’re managing to keep the prices down too.
@@PlanetautoUK Yeah there's no manufacturer out there that does the value proposition better I think.
@garybarry9365 Omoda are getting close and BYD, all 3 are ones to watch, competition is really heating up
lost panoramic. lost one more custumor, truly disapointed
It’s an interesting decision, however it adds massive weight, hopefully we’ll see it introduced again dj
This or the MG HS? I think the HS is the more polished product
It depends on what your needs are to be honest - HS is more refined, as are all cars in that segment. Do you need the extra space?
@PlanetautoUK more than the space, the defining requirement for me is 'how easy it is to load a rearward facing child seat' and 'can I fit a pram and a few grocery bags in the back'.
@sidjyothi ah I’d say best bet test your requirements at the dealers, space in cabin bigger in HS, boots not that much difference.
