If she is indeed a business person who has been in this line of business for years, that money might not all have been hers as an individual, it could have been any combination of her money + other people's money + maybe bank financing etc. What's funny is shadowy oil companies (who should have been named openly) then coming to claim the consignment as theirs. Was the consignment genuinely hers and the oil marketers were trying to take it away forcefully? Were they partners in this deal and they are now trying to cut her out of it? Was she the one trying to take over a consignment through dubious means, perhaps acting as a proxy for persons who didn't want to get their hands dirty? Was she just a con artist trying to take advantage of information she got from somewhere, but her 40 days arrived before she got the loot? Either way, the whole thing stinks.
