I just met my long lost brother of 28 years tonight!! I'm 32 and have had plenty of fulfilling experience in life so far but just finding out I had a sixth bro 1week ago to meeting him tonight was something so strangely unique idk if ill ever find the words but the energy and thoughts that THIS SONG share say it better than I ever could... The future that awaited me... I feel peace fam💙
I love how this song starts off. You aren't quite sure if it will get heavy, and when it doesn't all you see is a silhouette of yourself and all of your troubles evaporating away. This music has healing properties.
Darryl Williams I agree, they really did well on this one. I just started making a source filmmaker video going along with this song. It's trippy so far. C:
This is the most unique progressive metal/instrumental/'djent' album I've heard in years. Its so original at times and it really does have Motion. Take my money AAL.
Just a thought? Why do people have to sing over almost all music. This is essentially proof that emotion can be expressed without words through purely music.
This song is kind of like life you know? Its like when you get used to one section of your life going, it takes a turn either for the worst or for the better. Its so good though man.
i agree. when you add lyrics to a song you limit the interpretations to the subject matter. with instrumentals the interpretations are universal. music is a language anyone can understand.
Truth! Starting the first days at university with this tune, it makes the uncertainty of this new chapter in my life much better! These guys are ahead of their time!
I echo all praises...I tell ppl, it’s the music of the future..if the future is bright and kids learn to read music early on in school..I can’t stop listening to motion and madness
completely agree - in fact, this should've been their second album imo. Weightless is the epitome of bland & after the perfection of the debut, it made me worry for this one... fortunately, I was not disappointed, my expectations were far surpassed.
Best song on album Reminds of the price of everything and the value of nothing the way it has everything of the sound of AAL in one song It has the soft melodics and the hard parts too and its calming and empowering I just love this song
surrealducks but some of their song names, like ectogenesis, arithmophobia, and that one that starts with a “b” and it 20 syllables long, pretty fucking weird
Animals As Leaders! Perfect band, always make me chill and think! Tosin Abasi you are a great inspiration to me! Saludos desde Venezuela, espero verlos algun dia aca en Latinoamerica
This song reminds me of being a teenager and how, during that time, you arrive at a crushing realization that things just pass you by....you're in one moment and then it's over, then you're in another moment, and there are things you will never get to experience again and the world moves to and away from your fingertips.
I had the melody stuck in my head trying to find this song. Thought it was a Bonobo song or maybe Amon Tobin or Gramatik. It was AAL the whole time, and the song is even better than I remember.
would love to hear this song as the foundation for longer format work as a kind of symphony. Simply amazing. Leaves the listener wanting much more in the best way possible. Perfection. For that reason I also love the idea of a short version. Would also welcome a long version.
Oh, how I do swoon when I hear this masterpiece. Somebody help me out a bit...the time signature seems to be 7/8 mainly, but I sometimes hear them change it up to 12/8....yes? no? perhaps 13/8 at times? Talk about needing a transcription for this one! Love it nevertheless!
It changes a few times. I can hear distinct 7 patterns up until 1:06 where it switches to patterns of five, I think it goes to 6 at 1:42 Edit: im retarded its in cut time feel the entire song the rhythm patterns switch but the time signature stays 4/4
@@DaTLMusic How kind of you to reply! Indeed, it would have been better for me to draw the distinction between time signature and metrical patterns, the latter being the source of the difficulty. Yet it does make perfect sense that throughout the piece, the varied patterns would be framed upon an even and relatively stable 4/4 signature. Ultimately, examination of these complex rhythmic structures only serves, and for the better, to show us why it is that the most enduring popular music is most often devoid of such complexity -- we simply love straight time, esp. for dance! But then again, every once in a while, We just "gotta have some Animals..." Peace and love, Brother.
Anyone else listen to the intro of this song and think "when did Tosin study under Adrian Belew?" (Discipline- and Three of a Perfect Pair-era King Crimson)
What style would the solo around 2:40 be considered? Sounds great. I'd like to hear some more artists playing stuff like it. This album though: golden. Great tracks!
hey don't be discouraged neon ballroom. This guitar player, animals as leaders are extremely talented musicians. I thought weightless was an awesome album, and then joy of motion! this is unbelievable music.
Oh god...you're right. The riff at 0:48 is EXTREMELY similar to Javier's "Mestis" project...check out the song "Luz y Cielo" ...its got a melody that's extremely similar to this riff.
Thank you to all you guys for being a bunch of prog-metal enthusiasts. This community means a lot to me and the musicians of the world
much love.... metal forever 🤘🏾
My pleasure. 😉
I can't help but cry when I hear this song. It means so much to me. I love you, Rayzah. I miss you so much.
A very beautiful and underrated song on this album.
Agreed.

So happy for you mate! Such a wonderful thing to read, all the best bud ❤️ 🙏🏻
I love how this song starts off. You aren't quite sure if it will get heavy, and when it doesn't all you see is a silhouette of yourself and all of your troubles evaporating away. This music has healing properties.
Awesomely put! This new album is their best one yet

OP BETTER DELIVER
Did OP deliver ??
Hence the title of the track, it's so aptly named
This song makes me cry when I hear it.
Semi Pro Gaming yea brother
Tosin is from the future. He will never let us catch up. What awaits him, indeed.
he is awaiting himself in the future to one day merge and become omegatosin
one could even say that he will:
-Never give us up
-Never gonna let us down
-Never gonna run around and desert us
This is the most unique progressive metal/instrumental/'djent' album
I've heard in years. Its so original at times and it really does have Motion. Take my money AAL.
1:05 that transition was genius. Props to Matt.
Damn! Had never realized how smooth that is
Pillows
I just stumbled upon this and I have never been so emotionally moved by music before hearing this.
Welcome to progressive music..
Just a thought? Why do people have to sing over almost all music. This is essentially proof that emotion can be expressed without words through purely music.
I'm really late to the party, but yeah beautiful beautiful music. Innovative and inspiring!
This song is kind of like life you know? Its like when you get used to one section of your life going, it takes a turn either for the worst or for the better. Its so good though man.
I feel a deep connection with this song. It's absolutely mesmerizing.
This song is so beautiful. Anyone can see that but most only look for words to guide them. It's not fair.
i agree. when you add lyrics to a song you limit the interpretations to the subject matter. with instrumentals the interpretations are universal. music is a language anyone can understand.
Calvin Wendland yes.
This song can slow my stress in anytime, it's perfect!
This tune is so damned gorgeous that it brings tears to my eyes.
The drumming is eargasmic.
If I could be just half as good as any of their drummers, especially Matt Garstka, I'd die a happy man.
lol. for sure!
though I love Navene more. he's more energetic and electrifying
How beautiful can a piece of music be? ....this beautiful! ..like Hope and Sadness fighting to see the dawn of days to come.. :-)
I've been waiting for so so long for this masterpiece to be out.
The whole solo at 2:40. Holy shit I will cry if I ever get to see this band in my lifetime. I won't be able to hold it together.
The song name really fits the mood of the music.
Exactly :) amazing album
Truth! Starting the first days at university with this tune, it makes the uncertainty of this new chapter in my life much better!
These guys are ahead of their time!
this song never fails to depress me
I echo all praises...I tell ppl, it’s the music of the future..if the future is bright and kids learn to read music early on in school..I can’t stop listening to motion and madness
So relaxing
at 2:40 when the change comes in..I just love it! Genius.
The transition at 1:30 is also genius
Some of these chord progressions are reminiscent of Failure. I'm loving it.
This one's for my funeral
Absolutely this or Buckethead's "Aunt Suzie"
The mine too
Well, i have to say i'm alot more impressed with this than i thought i would be. Blows the second album away.
not really it was awesome
Agree 100%..!!
completely agree - in fact, this should've been their second album imo. Weightless is the epitome of bland & after the perfection of the debut, it made me worry for this one... fortunately, I was not disappointed, my expectations were far surpassed.
Joshua Alexander Amen, Brother..!! :) Couldn't have said it better myself..!!
This album is mind blowing. Thank you for all you guys do!
Best song on album
Reminds of the price of everything and the value of nothing the way it has everything of the sound of AAL in one song
It has the soft melodics and the hard parts too and its calming and empowering I just love this song
tears of joy! Thank you AAL and Sumerian!
My favourite song off the album...
My favorite track from the new album so far. Great release!
brilliant band
If an AAL song has four or more words in the title, it's probably from a poem Tosin learned in a Literature 101 class.
I always had the impression he was a pretty well-read dude. I mean, their band name is a reference to a book, right?
surrealducks but some of their song names, like ectogenesis, arithmophobia, and that one that starts with a “b” and it 20 syllables long, pretty fucking weird
@@kenflesher6672 Backfeifengesicht. It's german and means "a face to slap" or something thereof. It's kind of a slang phrase
Animals As Leaders! Perfect band, always make me chill and think! Tosin Abasi you are a great inspiration to me! Saludos desde Venezuela, espero verlos algun dia aca en Latinoamerica
I think the beginning riff resembles David a lot.
Its all based around King Crimson type riffs.
Yeah it's super david-esque hahaha. Especially with the progression at 0:11.
But in this case; rehashing sounds refreshing.
it was missing literally one note for a second
The Future That Awaited David
This whole track almost feels like Tosin's personal reference to Thom Yorke as well lol which doesn't bother me at all I think it's all beautiful, ijs
This song reminds me of being a teenager and how, during that time, you arrive at a crushing realization that things just pass you by....you're in one moment and then it's over, then you're in another moment, and there are things you will never get to experience again and the world moves to and away from your fingertips.
absolute master class in articulation and metric modulation
I had the melody stuck in my head trying to find this song. Thought it was a Bonobo song or maybe Amon Tobin or Gramatik. It was AAL the whole time, and the song is even better than I remember.
There is no explanation as to how someone can write music this good.
What a gorgeous song.
This song is a masterpiece. In my opinion, the most perfect composition from AAL.
Huh, I was listening to all of AALs tracks on random scramble and this came just after David. Fits together surprisingly well.
This is like a re-imagined King Crimson.
JoJo reference
This album is dope as
all fuck. I agree, dude.
2:20 has Petrucci solo album vibe to me.
This reminds me a lot of Secret of Mana, which probably explains why i love this so much.
HECK YES.
Love that game, incredibly good music too.
On Impulse pt. II
Josef Michal fuck so true ❤️
Okay. I get it. I Love This Album.
I so dig this album...
Goosebumps the whole way through. Only a couple of bands can truly do that to me.
This song makes me cry
EVERY
SINGLE
TIME
would love to hear this song as the foundation for longer format work as a kind of symphony. Simply amazing. Leaves the listener wanting much more in the best way possible. Perfection. For that reason I also love the idea of a short version. Would also welcome a long version.
this is by far my favorite song that anyone has ever written!
This is the only AAL song I can actually play. Don't think I'll ever be able to play CAFO.
I hear some animals as leaders on this one
Lol. Figured I'd leave a comment so you can come re-listen to this song
Love the whole feel to this album, this song in particular is outstanding!!
7 years ago. Wow.
2019 y aún me emociona cuando la escucho :3
Tosin=amazing
That fill at 3:07 is SO SICK
I need to start to learn ghost notes :) sounds very cool
What are ghost notes exactly?
whitecoldicecreams the softer hits on the snare :)
Attila Varga they are so damn hard to do God damn it #Drummerproblems
Just work on accent taps, your dynamic range will develop if you focus on the difference between your controlled stroke and your open stroke.
this made my fucking day.
This album made my fucking year
This song is beautiful.
The beginning of the track sounds like On Impulse! Love it!
I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite intro on the album...
What came to his mind when he named the title for this beautiful song?
probably my favorite track on the album so far
2:14 I can do anything to be able to write a solo that good
Is this the most beautiful Animals as Leaders song?
Oh, how I do swoon when I hear this masterpiece. Somebody help me out a bit...the time signature seems to be 7/8 mainly, but I sometimes hear them change it up to 12/8....yes? no? perhaps 13/8 at times? Talk about needing a transcription for this one!

This really is a rare track, nice work!!
Strong radiohead vibe in the chords progression, very ethereal.
This is awesome, it just is. It expresses a mood so well.
Great music. Absolute Gem.
just love those 7/8 and 6/8 measures.
The whole song is in 4/4 the quarter note subdivisions are in 5s 6s and 7s
@@DaTLMusic interesting
La mejor banda del mundo!
Genius Riffs!! Genius Band!!!
Anyone else listen to the intro of this song and think "when did Tosin study under Adrian Belew?" (Discipline- and Three of a Perfect Pair-era King Crimson)
Absolutely! and frankly, it also recalls me "The ConstruKtion of Light"
very good track, sounds smooth
This song is just beautiful!
The king crimson influence is very apparent on this
This song is SO hard to play on guitar, for me at least!
At least you are making the effort though. :)
mad props homie
you should post a cover when you finish learning it honestly, im thinking of doing so myself i just dont know which AAL song to learn first xD
you shud do this one its probibly the easiest to get your head around
neonballroom93 same with the drums
I feel defeated when I hear this song...
+Frankie Galvan spot right on
Transcendent.
Beautiful.
What style would the solo around 2:40 be considered? Sounds great. I'd like to hear some more artists playing stuff like it.
This album though: golden. Great tracks!
fusion, (of jazz, blues, metal, classical, and whatever else is in his arsenal)
Check out Plini and Sithu Aye.
^ those guys are good but what everybody likes to forget about Tosins sound is that it had a unique vibes that cant be replicated easily
hey don't be discouraged neon ballroom. This guitar player, animals as leaders are extremely talented musicians. I thought weightless was an awesome album, and then joy of motion! this is unbelievable music.
Extraordinary
This song is too good.
Thanks guys
Good job AAL! Consider me moved, beautiful track!
this reminds me of a song from a previous album... On Impulse?
That's what I was thinking also Mind Spun kind of reminds me the more heavier aspect like Overwhelming Question
Oh god...you're right. The riff at 0:48 is EXTREMELY similar to Javier's "Mestis" project...check out the song "Luz y Cielo" ...its got a melody that's extremely similar to this riff.
J. Pehrson You KNOW, Javier IS in the band and contributes to the riffage lol. So its nice to hear some of his influence. Glad you noticed though.
Bryan Scott-Mac Kenney I think he made that pretty clear, yeah. Javier is best known as the guitarist of this band.
Just noticed what you're on about. Yeah it seems to have a very similar structure so far. On Impulse is my favorite AAL By far though. Always will be.
Beautiful Song
3:07 The lick. Listen closely
cant unhear.. damn you!
brain song!
Perfeito!
Didn't realize how not alone I was on this one.
This is awesome!
On Impulse, is that you?
