I met Tosin early this year (April) when he was on tour with Generation Axe. What a great concert. We were enjoying another guitarist, when me and my friend saw Tosin casually walk out with this very beautiful woman holding his hand. They walked past us and we decided to follow. They were watching the show from the back. We were the only ones that came up to him. I told him how amazing he was and that he is an inspiration. I shook hands and got a picture, and so did my friend. He was very nice.
@@averagealienSD He's an absolute unit, extremely talented and overall a positive person. You almost always see him smiling. He looks like an extremely kind and friendly person

joy of motion is really polished while remaining the original feel of the band while wightless is really deep and dark, and the first album is a raw jewel not polished at all, brute. either of those labum have their own unique essence while remaining the same flavour. they kinda lost that after joy. saddly, now i can herd veil of maya in new AAL stuff..shame
@@patatejambom6310 they started showing off more specifically between Tosin and Matt… both phenomenal players but their music shined best during these times. There’s a few rare gems where they still hit it on the new album though
After listening to this new album a couple of times, this is slowly creeping up to become a favorite of mine. Some of the harmonic arrangements are just... you'd like to eat them.
TheGrandBrand ikr, it took me a few listens, at first I wasn’t a fan, but something made me keep coming back. I still can’t fully appreciate the beauty of this band
This song is powerful because of it's ability to reach into your chest and break your heart. And toward the end... That is the moment when your soul looks to the sky, spreads it's wings and ascends. This is honestly the best as well as the only way I could possibly describe how this whole song makes me feel.
Tosin's song titles make a lot of literary references. Off the top of my head, "To Lead You to an Overwhelming Question" alludes to T.S. Eliot, and this song, Haruki Murakami.
When I listen to this album by my self I feel so comfortable like it takes me to a safe zone inside my mind; a paradise if you will. Even on a rainy day driving around cruising to this album. Really grippy what AAL has been doing to me. Long time follower, and hardcore fan. Weightless is like riding on a fantastic roller coaster. And the self titled is like a opening aurora of arms, knowing its the first album in mind. But this album, wow, just wow.
Wow this album I am really digging, they seem to play more as a whole band, Tosin has nothing to prove, he is just amazing, so I think he is just flowing more freely in this album. I can't wait to see them live next Thursday!
2:20 on is just breathtaking. And awesome because he played this tapping riff on his Signature Ibanez TAM-100 video almost a year ago. Blew my mind then, too!
College Art Professor, "okay today we are doing abstract art with music. I need you all to put a song on your ipods or phones and paint to the rythem." 20 minutes later he walks by my piece. Professor, "whoa!!! you must be listening to some crazy good tunes!" Me, "just animals as leaders mate" haha was epic. the stuff I did with this song was by far the most impressive to him. If anyone hasnt tried this before I would suggest it. Just grab some paint and a blank white wall, and blast this album and paint away,
"Air Chrysalis", a title perhaps taken from the title of the novel co-written by the protagonist Tengo within the novel "1Q84" written by Haruki Murakami, translated into English only a few years ago? As a big fan of both this band and that novel, I would be pleased if this was the case :)
I don't even listen to any modern metal bands, but this album is a fucking banger. Really nice, tosin's eirie nuances really distinguish him from any other progressive metal guitarist as his "off key" chords and notes eels to be surprising and unpredictable yet he manages to make them 'fit' as it where.
Between 3:20 - 3:46 and in particular the tone at 3:27-3:31, I hear some variation of the words "Didn't your mother tell you not to use that tone now your in trouble". Conjuring up an image of Farber from I Robot shaking his head to the music with an expression of terror and enjoyment. Also Alice from Step Brothers grooving with a 'blue steel' stank face.
daniel burns You must still be in 2012 when that was true. Now that anyone can use the term "djent" to classify a wide variety of bands (Allius, Contortionist, Volumes, etc.) it, technically, is a genre at this point.
Great.. I used to draw with my eyes closed along with classical music.. not taking my hand off the paper. I guess it's better if you do something to zone in (Meditation, drugs, vigorous exercise, headrush) Also, since this is supposed to be strictly indeliberate/ unplanned.. it's even more important to keep the intensity going.. as you are going to be riding on it.. If the intensity dips, your mind starts to wander & question. Please share some work, it'll be so interesting, thanks!
So far I really like the fact that Tosin's soloing is more reserved and fitting yo the overall atmosphere of the music. I like thier other albums too, but sometimes to me its like "OK I get it. You can play circles around just about anyone." Sorry the sweep picking arpeggios get old for me after a while. This has an almost Return to Forever feel. If Al DiMeola played an 8 string
God! Very freakin AWESOME song!! The average music junkie can't even imagine how much work it takes to get as good as these guys. These guys must practice and write music like 20 hours a day.
@Teeia Chambers I'd say more like people who don't really know what good music is. This record label has no real death metal (apart from The Faceless) that would make death metal elitists to come and hate this song. I would say more like scene kids who expected some yelling and whining and no real musical structure.
Yeah sure, unfortunately I'm on my phone and don't know how to link you to it but it's Misha Mansoor and Mark Holcomb as Haunted Shores. They've done a medley of Prelude, bombing mission and victory fanfare and also Ahead on our Way!

This is epic. So awesome and it sends me to another dimension. I now feel like singing is trash, AAL makes you think if lyrics are necessary or not
Infinite Star lyrics are just great, but when music speaks alone with no voice, it means that it's beyond greatness.
damn tosin is totally conveying anxiety here
