They could have added distortion in a few parts to make it heavy, but after listening to this im glad they produced it like they did. Animals As Leaders are brilliant
The one of the most beautiful parts of my life was listening to this song..... I was traveling through Colorado and ate an edible.... I was listening to this album in the passenger seat on this amazing road full of mountains Rivers trees...... When the outro hit on this song I was in awww. I haven't had a moment like that since.... This band kicks ass. It was a feeling I won't forget.
Azael del Rosario Yea as i heard, once you get to that level, its not even about whos better. Its about appriating the musical differences between both.
Coming back to this song after so many years has literally made me cry, between then an now, I overcame my drug addiction, became a parent of two beautiful kids, got my autism, apsergers and ADHD diagnosis, lost all my grandparents and my sweet mom too, became a more competent musician and started studying history independently in my own time. Last time I listened to this me and the mother of my kids (she's an ex now, still get on well with her though) was courting and getting really close to then eventually kiss and be together and listening to it has brought back so so many good and bad memories but it's made me happy really because if has reminded me of how good life really is, I'm a huge lover of life and always am a glass half full kinda guy, so hearing this has made me cry, and nope I don't care what people think, this is why I love music so so much we don't need a time machine to visit the past when we have music to do it for us 🙂❤
the songwriting here is honestly a heck of a lot more coherent than Chon. its so much more beautiful than an attempt to string some unrelated notes and weird syncopations for the sake of being called 'complicated'.
@@PickOfDestiny12 crazy right? you literally could exactly explain why the things said were false, quote the exact chord progressions and choice of notes/rhythm, and you chose (just kidding, we know it's not by choice) to say "weak take". it's a little bit too obvious what that's showing, little child 🤣🤣
That groove at 2:36... Wow!!! I'm so impressed with this album. Its so eclectic and this song really stands out so much. Its a completely different side of the band. Just amazing!!
Being a Portuguese i can assure you that "Para mexer" means "to move" and the guitar sound on this track reminds me a lot of the Portuguese music genre Fado.. maybe thats why they gave it a portuguese name
Joel Faisca definitely with a lot of bossa nova (Brasilian) influence in there too. The first ten seconds totally sounds like something Sergio Mendes was doing. After that (from like :15 to :22) the guitar line is very fado-ish. The guitar work around 1:10 with the finger style picking reminds me a lot of Pedro from Madredeus. totally makes sense a couple of Portuguese dudes would be listening to very technical music though, right?
larryjuicepop exact. I've listened a lot,but I think it has a lot more influence in it's fully on bossa nova classical guitarrists, as tom jobim and rosinha valença... brazillian guitar is very present in this track. Fado has it's presence but in only some periods of The song. Anyway, greetings from brasil haha!
I love how alot of people judged and thought they knew what the new album would sound like based off of tooth and claw and lippincott lol, every song is completely different. you see this is why you don't judge a band based off of ONE or TWO songs. especially a band like animals as leaders that is notorious for being versatile
That acoustic breakdown at 2:36 is groove to the max. The end of this song reminds me of apocalypse type movies, like the ending of 28 Days Later or something
Come float, my friend! I could go away forever if not for the last drum part that no matter what, i can't get it, the independence is way to much for my petty afficionado status. This track is too much, i don't deserve it!
Yeah I was thinking more along the lines of the time signature rather than the degree of how distorted the sound was. I suppose a lot of prog/djent stuff couldn't be called "heavy metal" in itself, but you can clearly trace its roots back to that.
SteampunkTigerlily18 progressive rock/fusion - definitely. But metal is harsh, aggressive, loud and obnoxious (in a good way) not calm, pretty and charmful like this song :)
***** wikipedia says that they're a instrumental progressive metal band/jazz fusion band.some progressive metal bands like symphony x and even obscura have a similarity with them.
It's either "to move" to go with their album title, or "to mix", "to mess", or "to stir" referring to the blend of Latin and metal genres in this song. Or both meanings could hold water as a play on words.
i had this song in my phone for sometime and it was the one that i was always skiping for some reason, and now i got it on repeat and can't get enough of it, i love it, i was such an ass
Does anyone know any songs that are similar to that ending atmospheric part? It just feels SOOO nostalgic! The part that starts at around 3:10? Song names would be highly appreciated!
periphericdrumlines this one is Unique, maybe you can find some kind of similar stuff in Bulb's (Misha Mansoor) "epic fail", "lullaby", "more juggies" or even in some Russian Circles work. But there's nothing like this one, nothing.
i loooooove this
I second that.
Sounds like Tosin Abasi took some influence from your music ;)
Agreed!
Yup. Might overcome "Sweet Nothings" as #1 on my playlist.
I love your music too.
Tosin is fucking incredible. But Javier man... that dude can carve musical nostalgia like nobody's business.
lol
I love you, guy!
Youd probably enjoy Pierre Bensusan then
The songwriting and melodies on this track are out of this world!
yea chord melodies are awesome
I can't stop to listen it

it's the better part of our music (brazil)
progressive acoustic flamenco metal
Jay Lee To be fair, that genre was kind of created by the trio of Al DiMeola, Paco de Lucía & John McLaughlin...
Jay Lee this is not metal
the drums tho
Jay Lee Check the old Spanish band called Triana. They were actually progressive flamenco rock.
Jay Lee Brazilian prog metal/djent artist Vitalism also applies some flamenco to their tunes, vitalism.bandcamp.com/track/pagan

The outro gets me every time. I love it.
Definitely. Makes me feel like everything is gonna be alright.
yeah , so peaceful
Yeah man the outro stands out to me the most only because of the little digital sounds being played 🤘🏽
small world eh?
Was walking home from school today after acing a test, looked up to the sky as soon as the outro started and knew it's going to be a good weekend.
I can't get enough of that very last drum beat. When he switches over to the china it's so beautiful.

This song has Javier written all over it.
That's probably because Javier wrote all over it
Biophonism I don't think its a matter of level, it's just different styles and musical backgrounds.

Biophonism dude, listen Te Mato by Mestis (Javier Reyes), the originality and the sound is very unique dude

@BRNardy thanks mate, still clean too 😊
the title of The song in my language means " to move " and you bet i am moving , this is so passionate .. idk i really like it

everyone talks about 2:36 but the riff at 1:12 might be my favorite thing ever

This title would fit perfectly in almost every AAL song, lol.
Never had shivers from the first listen of a song until now
I can definitely feel TRAM vibes from this song
Beauty in the most technical form possible.
This is one of my all time favorite tojin songs.
The art on the cover seems to move, even though it's static. Fits the music perfectly!
The ending
JAVIERRR
Smooth as butter. Great composition by Javier
Wow that ending is beautiful
this makes me even more anxious for a new Mestis release.
I'm thinking he used the 8-string acoustic guitar on this track. Very awesome spice that this track contributed to this 80 oz. steak of an album!
Well shiver me timbers on the outro folks..
"for shake" doesn't even make sense, this means "to move" which I guess is related with the joy of motion
it's probably "to move" tbh.
Yeah that's what I said! I was kind of replying to another comment
"mexer" isn't even a real spanish word!
+Cocho Rock
well nobody ever said this was spanish XD I translated it according to my language, which is portuguese!
"mexer" is a portuguese word! it means "to shake" ;)
If you listen in 1.25x speed, it sounds as if the whole band is rushing to get the song over with.
Awesome the music's name.. Portuguese is the Perfect language to describe movement and rhythm.. Like us, Brazilians!
