16+ [MXD 2022] Zahina Round 4 (Sweet Dreams)

After an intense gift ceremony, Zahina and company head back to their huts and prepare to leave. Before getting too far a fairy stops her asking if she has seen her daughter who was with her the night before. Though “Zahina” has no recollection of what the fairy is talking about. She just assumes something happened between Shahrazad and the fairy’s daughter.
Before going to her own hut. Zahina stops by Odette’s and asks for help with her hair, as it would just “get in the way”
While gathering her things she notices a half-use bottle of Shahrazad’s arsenic, a dart, and a charm. This makes her wonder if something bad happened with the fairy’s daughter.
As the guiding fairy drops everyone in an unfamiliar place, Zahina finds it weird that the fairy forgot where she picked them up, since they weren’t that far from the forest entrance. Before thinking too much about it, she finds herself involuntary falling asleep. After her futile efforts, she enters a deep sleep only to find herself in her headspace and is taken for a ride through memories best forgotten. After coming face to face with herself and her inner demon, a gentle creature awakens her, and she realizes that time has passed. As to how much time, who can say.

Having her different personalities interact in the dream space was super interesting! I also loved the scene with Odette and Zahina bonding while Odette helped her with her new look... only for Shahrazad to be in control when she discovers Odette's death, and so it doesn't mean much to her. So sad!
