When I was younger in the summer there would be cicadas on the pine trees, sucking the sap, resting, mating, and singing on the tree. Very cute and goofy ahh insects

I recently had Alan Page out on my pine stand and his take on selecting the leader to leave when corrective pruning was different than yours. His suggestion was to choose one of the smaller diameter side branches as he felt it was more limber and would straighten better than a fat one. Both you and Alan have vast knowledge about White Pine so what is your take on Alan's concept?
Unfortunately I did not dig deep on this subject when I was with Alan. An opportunity lost.
How long have you tracked trees that you correctively pruned?
