If there's an apple lisa you have to get it. Its a shame its so far away from queensland id be up for helping with sorting the stuff out and moving it on, id only take payment in computer parts though lol
The Itek is a typesetting system from the late 70's/early 80's. They're amazing to restore. Really hope it's preserved and someone restores it. In other news.. the IBM PS/2 55/56 system is the ones I love, restore and run. I have one but it's incomplete. Is that one ever going up for sale? Would dearly love to put a bid or six in. Maybe on of the Quadra's 840's also. Love recapping. The bellows might actually be designed for a computer screen to be put on one side, and a camera on the other for "screen shot captures". It's how it was done.
@@chookin1 @3:59 .. blue button. Top left. I have one I use heavily for fun and adore but it's in really rough cosmetic shape and has lots of hacks to get it working. Need to find a doner or if it's better (wouldn't be hard) turn mine into a doner. I've undone most of the previous owners kludges and did things properly, but there's a bunch of stuff that was non-reversable. One day I hope to find one and really give it the proper treatment. Managed to track down the /2 clock doubled IBM CPU about 8 months ago. Makes a huge difference. I dunno. Just love this specific model to bits.
@@chookin1 Pretty cool little systems. It's a 286/386sx style 16bit memory interface system. I have an MCA XT-IDE comming for it soon and am running off SCSI. You can feed them 16mb of RAM which was the limit for 286 and 386sx systems. Careful with disks over 1gb in size. SCSI scripting chip only does 4-byte SCSI mail packets so the CHS translation will wrap and you silently fandango across an earlier part of your drive :) Lots of quirks with this model but .. I've loved them. Sadly lost mine in '99 but had been using it for several years solidly. Current one gets used mostly for assembler, some spreadsheeting and C for work. Just gets used for lots of stuff. I don't have much time for games but I suppose assembler and C/C++ in my spare time on it counts. :) Wish it was complete. There's a few different CPU options for the same system. You can get more expandability out of a /70 or other models if that's your thing. I love this model because "it was what I had" and the case is a bit weird. Guess it's like macintosh IIsi.. weird case not used elsewhere and less expandability. "An acquired taste" :)
Man those pentium era server towers are like a forbidden fruit, obsolete by the time I was in school but they had several in the IT room, which had a big glass wall between the computer room and it so you could see all this cool old tech but not touch or get near any of it. It all sat in there for years until they had a cleanout over the holidays and binned it all in a skip :'D
Yes @DounutCereal - the old Pentium towers were cool. Now they're a dime a dozen. Main thing is dealing with blown power supplies. I have a nice black IBM P4 in a case. Runs a lot of old school games pretty fast.
@@RetroRarez I might have to get myself some dimes and make a visit lol Most of my collection is later pentium era stuff so the earlier pentium stuff is definitely catching my interest. I might have to organise a trip haha

Thanks for part 2. I know some of the stuff is quiet old - sure I saw Elton John on a promo with hair. Genuine question but where do you start, its just electronics, the peripherals, documents, identifying, cataloguing, sorting, cleaning etc??? People even collect original boxes........ some crazy prices being offered Ebay for Empty boxes.
Hi @CheshireNoir - I remember opening it up and it didn't seem complete. I cant remember which card was missing. I've got a few Europlus's in my collection. It seems to be a nice little unit which would scrub up well. Hope to find more there.
The kaga monitor is very interesting. They performed way better than the TV I used to hook my Apple II up to. I always wanted one when I was a kid in the 80’s. Are these items going to be advertised for local purchase because I might even drive from Melbourne for it? Thanks for the interesting videos - they are bringing back lots of memories.
Hi @anides2001 - For sale: yes. Locally in Melbourne: no. Its a 2 day drive to get there and back safely (without revealing the location). I have some Taxan and Kaga monitors here in Melbourne that will go up on sale shortly. They're from another lot, which is bigger than this in terms of IIe's and monitors. This new lot has 10+ Apple II's, Europlus'es, plus, macintoshes.... black drives, normal drives, accessories. Its a monster. Will do the video in due couse and list the items. I've got most of that in my collection already, which is why I'm selling the excess.
Saw a computer labelled with a phone number and a business name in there at 4:01, looks like it was used for tax documents very exciting! 😅 Awesome video nonetheless Simon! Cannot wait to get a real close look at all of the awesome stuff in there.
hope someone took the batteries out from the apples also a lot of that stuff is not that great / photo papers die over time if not temp controlled, printer inks dry up, the disks can fail 8" because of temp
@peteregan9750 yes indeed that's the case. I have not opened these up yet, but I did pick up a large apple haul (future video) and those were all ok. Thankfully this other haul was in a temperature controlled room.

Digitek were building cameras for early spy satellites they also built storage systems for reconnaissance data.
@Agnemons - yes there is a lot of military use for them due to imaging. Was state of the art back then.

Apple IIc under the Europlus. The Europlus also has a modem and an 80 column card, looking at the cables coming out the back.
