I think new players will LOVE this guide! finally someone that actually understands that you don't need to yell at your camera every 2 seconds to make good and still super entertaining tutorials..... because that's my main problem with all the current character creation videos... keep up the great work!
I am super happy to hear that! I tried to keep it as straight forward as possible and thought about how I usually help my own players roll up (though theres a lot more back and forth on that ofc!) really happy to hear that you like it!
Hi, it's me again. I just played as a spellcasting class for the first time, so question: If I level up, do I regain my expended spell slots? Or do I have to wait till I rest?
Thats entirely down the DM. Usually in games I do I generally only do levels at a long rest or the end of an adventure so I haven't come into this one. Ask the DM for their own version of this as everyone will have their own rules on this as its a very particular situation!
Hey! So for initiative it = your Dexterity Modifier + any race, class or other bonuses. For saves if you are proficient you get to add your proficiency modifier and your relevant ability mod!
I've been playing DnD since high school but what I still don't understand is how you can possibly get above 22 on ability scores, since you can only upgrade your scores up to 20 and the most race bonus you can get on anything is +2. Can anyone explain?
You can only get above it if you have magic items that push you beyond 20 ordinarily! Unless your DM rules otherwise. The cap is 20 on creation. Even with racial modifiers and a perfect roll on stats if you use rolling would be an 18 + 2. Still 2 above isn't too bad, worst case it just adds a +1 extra to rolls which you can get from tons of other stuff.
Is there a way to be a holy priestess that uses archery? Or...Ranger/Priest(ess)? I have never played before but am inspired to do so, now. Thank you! :)
Hey! Totally is. Multiple ways! You could go cleric (they get an option for a crossbow and have the priest/holy person thing down to a tee. Theres also paladin who dont start off with a bow but have the proficiency for martial and simple weapons (basically they can use most weapons!).You could also go a ranger then multiclass into either cleric or paladin too! I would suggest taking a look at those classes for sure!
Unfortunately not! But you could play a conjuration wizard or a druid to emulate that! There are also multiple really good third party company's that have some similar subclasses to that. But run it by the DM!

IT MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE NOW!
9.5/10. Almost perfect, but I still can't stop making pacifist wizards and weird barbarians.
hahaha glad to hear it xD
Very well put together. I'm surprised you less than 2000 subs, you should have so many more
Thank you so much!! Hopefully soon!
10:30 proficiency bonus doesn't go up by class level but character level.

How do saving throws work? My class gets me strength and dexterity. Also how do you figure out the initative?
