At what age should I start this training? I have a 5 week old Labrador and she kinda knows her name but it’s a bit difficult. Obviously I know she’s a puppy but I’m trying to suck up as much information as I can
I’m getting a German Shepard/Black Lab pup on Thursday. 8 week old female that is the most beautiful creature on earth! How do I train the cross-breed? Does it even matter the breed or is all puppy training the same?
This is so exciting Candace, the basics of dog training is similar but it might be worth looking into both German Shepard and Lab temperaments as this will help you understand how to be the best canine leader you can be for your pup!

so far this video describes the puppys name means look up at you. not actually come to you. that's not really what i want. i want him to come to me.
Of course they do not understand the meaning of a name, but they link the name, the sound to themselve. Same as human do.
i dont think i can teach my dog to sit because i put it up to his face he bites my fingers and take the food
My puppy did the same thing. I tried giving him treats from the palm of my hand but those sharp little teeth often nipped my hand. I started just using two fingers to feed the treat. That works much better but occasionally he got toothy. So when he got toothy, I pulled the treat away and said NO or AAH AAH! He figured out he had to be gentle or no treat.
