    I went a very similar route with my 2020 D7. I got a 2021 SID Select + fork, Hunt Trail Wide rims, and a SIDluxe Select + shock. The difference is huge! I regularly do jump lines and enduro trails and it impresses me every time.

      @@petedog9581 Yeah I'm aware, that's why I brought up that it's doing fine on those trails. I think it helps that I'm only 140lbs. I was riding the same trails with my stock Recon (32mm stanchions) so this is even stiffer.

      @@CinimodMG That shock suits your weight, but gotta think you must run it wide open when hitting jumps. Just put a new Pike Select 150 and Deluxe Ultimate on my bike. I have mostly used Fox on my bikes, but I'm really impressed w Rock Shox, now that SRAM bought them. Huge improvements.

    Man its crazy how the two of us from Jefferson Parish think, did the close to the same upgrades to my Marin in the past 2 months, long story short, had a Marin Rift Zone 2, had a cracked frame under warranty, they allowed me to upgrade to Carbon frame for a small charge. Wanted to compliment the bike, I upgraded the fork to Rock Shox Pike ultimate (on sale too), went with I9 enduro s wheel set and upgraded the brakes to the same XT mt8000 brakes leaving the 200 calipers on, from your hack. They stop just as good as a set that cost twice that! The bike came alive.

      The D7 is really a gem out of the box, and as far as the upgrade path for it I’d probably do something very similar to what I did to this D6…if not the exact same path.

      @cglasford1 Рік тому

      @@JaredRMorgan right on. yeah it does seem very capable out of the box and should be more than enough for her. I'll probably let her ride it and either break things or complain about things and then go from there. My one gripe with it was the dropper post thumb switch is trash, so I'll probably swap that out before the season for her. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for a good deal on a pike or fox float 34. She has 27.5 wheels and there are lots of good deals on longer travel forks like the lyrik right now but not seeing much in that 130 range. Plus I just picked up a canyon spectral AL5 27.5 during black Friday so I might have to selfishly upgrade my ride first haha

    Loving my D6 built up with a Pike Select, GX Eagle, SLX Brakes, and RaceFace Aeffect Wheels. That said, my newest thing is trying a 190x51 Fox Float Evolution CTD rear shock in place of the stock X-Fusion Pro O2 RL. The X-fusion rode great, but I wanted to see how it felt with 136mm rear travel. It's much plusher, but has lost it's poppy feeling out of the saddle.
    How much difference did the Rockshox rear shock make in the small bump absorption compared to the X-fusion?

      @@JaredRMorgan In my case, I rode the bike no harder than you. Suspension set up properly and meticulously maintained. Polygon just has some QC issues with the welding or design of the D series frame. My Warranty frame has a new larger gusset where it broke. Bike rides fantastic but if it cracks be ready to wait 4-8 months for a replacement under warranty. I got barely 400 miles on mine before it cracked so I have been able to ride it about 50% of the time I have owned it due to the warranty.
