@BLUE BIRD32 Did you know in Peter Jackson's TLOTR: TTT, Viggo Mortensen, who plays Aragorn, kicks a helmet, and screams. That scream is real, as he broke his toe.
As a kid I gave Ralph Bakshi’s Lord of the Rings cartoon (dated!!) repeat viewing over my youth, and forever frustrated that the movie ends midway because they ran out of budget. But it was that movie which forced me to read the books to finally know what happened next! I thought it was unfilmable until Peter Jackson came along and set me straight.
Why didn't you watch the Rankin/Bass 1980 "Return of the King" It basically takes off where Ralph's end and the existence of the other is why neither one covered the entire Trilogy in its entirety. I am sorry but of the two I am partial to the Rankin/Bass and the lack of experimentation found in Ralph's version. But I also loved the Rankin/Bass Hobbit (1977) growing up as a kid.
Bakshi's film was amazing and still has some genius scenes in it. Like when the Ringwraiths chase Frodo or the Ork chanting scene at the attack at Helms deep.
Don't forget that the Ring is constantly messing with the minds of the people around it and is constantly trying to get Frodo to put it on. Think of the Ring as a living character. It wants to be found, as Gandalf said, and it knows that Sauron's servants can find it easier if someone puts it on. The Ring messing with Frodo's head is why he keeps taking it out, playing with it, and putting it on. The Nazgul don't initially cross the river after Arwen because they know the river marks the boundary of Imladris and they have a healthy fear of Elrond (especially within his own kingdom). Elves have a unique connection to the land around them, and Elf-lords even more so when it comes to the land of their domain. The land and water of their domain obey their command the same as any servant.
In the books, the scene doesn't even involve Arwen at all. Glorfindel put Frodo onto his horse and bade his horse to take Frodo to Imladris. The Nazgul pursued and that's when Elrond used his powers to wash away the Nazgul(Gandalf was standing by his side and turned them into horses as sort of a joke).
@@Minotaur92 Yes, but I didn't want to risk causing confusing by bringing in those details from the book to explain the movie scene. If we go with the books, the Nazgul found themselves stuck between the angry river and an angry elf lord (Glorfindel), which better explains why they didn't just get out of the river to avoid being washed away. However, Glorfindel is not in the movies, so I left him out of my original post.

The LotR book is very "English". While the movie changes nearly every character significantly, it enhances the world-building of the sound of the languages through music very well.
Honestly the changes were for the better cinematically speaking. Aragorn as an example was pretty "meh" in the books, almost a cardboard cut-out of a hero who had zero issues with his role in things from day 1. Movie Aragorn was far more compelling to watch. Think books and movies are very different storytelling methods so often I can adjust to such changes long as the spirit and end result are the same.

There is a reason for the "Englishness". Tolkien was in part motivated by a desire to fill in for lost English myth and folklore. To borrow a quote from the beginning of the film that fits this line of thinking "Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it". While its a great thing that the Lord of the Rings has international recognition it was first and foremost a book made by a great Englishman for the English people. Gandalf and Saruman, and Sauron and the Balrogs as well are Maia. Supernatural beings. Illuvitar, the creator god in this cosmology, sent the Wizards in human form to aid Middle Earth. There is a brown wizard, Radagast, and two blue ones that never appear in the stories of the Third Age. The Ishtari wizards are not permitted to use their full power, because reasons. Sauron amd the balrogs have no such limitations.
I watched these as a young adult, and I read all the books as a boy. She reminds me of the little boy the first time I watched the movie the hard time and a little boy just jumped up when old dude got his head chopped off and he yelled "YESSSSSSSSSS" and we all felt like that.
Hey Blue, Many of the modern movie techniques used in today's movie-making were developed in this movie and have been used ever since. This movie does use many practical and armory techniques from the past. But it excels at the use of 3D skin texturing, full-body 3d scanning for medium and wide shots. Use of AI large crowd control for the battle scenes with the "Massive" program. What set this movie apart is the adapted screenwriting They had to find a cohesive way to tell the story of the 3 books. And they did so masterfully.
Omg Trixy i love so much your reactions 🥰 glad you're reacting to LOTR 😊kind of weird that you've already watched them, but still i love it! Oh hey, those pink rabbit ears, you wear them for the movie "i kill giants"? Love that movie too 😊

If I had a daughter who thought Barbie or Disney princesses were lame but wanted to watch _Lord of the Rings_ I'd consider my parenting a success.
Right before Gandalf's dragon firework explodes where you see some hobbits lying on the ground wondering what's going to happen next, you can see Elijah Wood's sister on the left. She's also one of the women of Rohan in 'the caves' (you'll know when you see it).
Gandalf and Saruman are not old men they are Maira and sort of angelic spirit in the guise of old men. Their bodies can be killed but their spirit is immortal. They are thousands of years old.
Understand this that no major studio wants to make this movie until new line cinema now owned by Warner Bros. wants to make that movie because sir Peter Jackson Gave a presentation for the visual effects the costumes the weapons designed and they took a chance. But the executives of new line cinema says aren’t there three books you should make three movies, And the rest is history but they start principal photography In 1998 if I’m not mistaken. But this is one of the masterpiece best independent film in cinema it looks like a big budget movie but it’s definitely independent!
4:35 You can, in fact, visit. They left all the sets up and the whole town of Hobbiton is maintained as a tourist attraction now. Go to New Zealand after they’re out of pandemic lockdown and check it out. 8:30 Bilbo is Ash the android from Alien. Just a fun fact. 12:00 And Saruman is Count Dooku. 16:35 No, the evil ones you’re thinking of are called Nazgul. Rangers are just hunter/trappers. 18:00 Pretty sure we all fell for that. I did, in theaters. 19:46 It was filmed 1999-2000, released in 2001.
Rangers are the remnants of the Dunadain of Arnor, the Numenoreans of the Northern Kingdom. Despite the fall of their realm, the royal line of Elendil was maintained, partly due to Elrond's willingness to act as foster parent to his generations-removed nephews. (,I'm pretty sure Aragorn was not the first he took under his wing.)
There are two ways to visit the Shire. Based on your accent, I believe you're English, so the easiest way would be to go to the rural West Midlands outside of Birmingham. Alternatively, you can go to the set in New Zealand.
Gandalf and his fellow wizards are not men. They are of the race known as the Maia and are essentially angels incarnate. They are thousands of years old and do not age. Their appearance is merely an affectation so men will think they are no more than wise old men with some magical ability. So when Saruman and Gandalf were fighting, they definitely were not "too old" for it.
Two tips, Ms. Blue: First, if you should choose to read the novels, you will find several adventures the hobbits have, between leaving Bag End, and arriving at The Prancing Pony. Second, if you want to fall in love with The Shire all over again, I suggest playing the Lord Of The Rings Online MMORPG. You can get a free-to-play account, and the character and landscape designs in the game are truly beautiful. It was very clearly a labor of love, by the designers.
Answering your question, I believe this movie is from 2001. Also, I love your ears and your earrings, and most everything I'm watching from you. Fly safe.
Blue I was trying to figure out why you look so much more beautiful in this video. I thought it was your hair being done in a new way. Then it hit me that you're not wearing glasses. They let us see your amazing eyes. You look absolutely stunning. Good on you girl.
The lord of the rings is a mix of a fantasy story and a war. Very good trilogy and its really difficult to make a film from a book many film directors have failed doing it.
Gandalf and Saruman are no mere old men, they are Maiar spirits! Angels created by the supreme being Eru Ilúvatar, who saw the creation of time and the world. Same as the dark lord Sauron and the Balrog Durin's Bane.

I remember that the pre production begun around 1996 or so, maybe before, but the movie was released around 2001. Incredible how time flies
"I hate biting insects"
Well don't bite insects, then!
😀😀😀
Frodo is in his early 30s when he inherited the ring. In his early 60s when the journey begins.
Frodo left the Bag End on his 50th birthday. --17 years after Bilbo.
Wow, I feel ancient... I am getting updated, I saw the original movies in cinema so I haven't really payed much attention to the extended versions. So in many ways I am seeing this almost like a first too! I like your ears, you are a secret elf and those are your real ones, for sure! 😸
"Great 😑👏 now they've smelt him!" lel
Lets goooo! Can't wait for your next LOTR's reaction. You're in for a masterpiece! 😊😎
Cutest youtuber (now with elf ears!) reacting to the greatest trilogy of all times. You've made my evening :3
Glad you enjoyed! 😄🥰
yo your facial structure rocks hard with those elf ears you could be in this movie for real LOL
Elrond was around 6500 years old when Frodo meets him.
"Trixy with the elf ears?!" You take my heart girl hahahaha
Trixy came for the elves, but stayed for the cake.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy are my comfort movies.
Sooooo excited!
I thought you would at least remember some parts of the movie since you watch them as young. So a pleasant surprise.
Thank you
ah, beautiful reaction trixy.
Subbed just for this lotr ride
That swamp is called "The Midgewater Swamp". If you have been out in Scotland, the lakes region in the UK, you know what a midge is, evil little buggers.
Also, this movie series was a game-changer for motion capturing tech, with an absolute standout performance of Andy Serkis as Gollum!
@@sertaki I forgot about the motion capture work on the movie. So many amazing groundbreak aspects to this movie.
That's awesome!!
17:38 Sauron's soul, his human for is young Man dressed in Black.
Yesss I LOVE watching reactions to LOTR
Me and my friends were obsessed with LotR as kids, used to make weapon out of wood and fight imaginary orcs in the woods.
During the dragon firework scene that was Billy Boyd's actual scream to the effect.
Trixy : Elrond is old !
*Galadriel enters the chat*
*treebeard enters the chat*
Mithrandir: 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦...
Gollum knew Bilbo's name and that he was from the Shire from their interactions (the riddle game) in the book The Hobbit (written first before LotR).
11:01 Indeed, he's one of the 'istari', the second most powerful race.
This movie was released in 2001, but the production took more than five years, so it was begun 1995 or so.
Omg Trixy i love so much your reactions 🥰 glad you're reacting to LOTR 😊kind of weird that you've already watched them, but still i love it! Oh hey, those pink rabbit ears, you wear them for the movie "i kill giants"? Love that movie too 😊
Your love of Elves got straight to the point(y ears).
Blue: "I have always wanted to ride a bird."
Have you ever watched the 1981 animation Heavy Metal?
If you tell me that you're an elf, I'll consider you an elf, Blue. Fantastic video. I'm looking forward to going back through each of these films with you. If I had a daughter who thought Barbie or Disney princesses were lame but wanted to watch _Lord of the Rings_ I'd consider my parenting a success.
Awww, my heart melts for Elf Blue, (Blue Elf?).
And yes, you ARE an Elf. That is where you came from. That is who the real you inside is.
Right before Gandalf's dragon firework explodes where you see some hobbits lying on the ground wondering what's going to happen next, you can see Elijah Wood's sister on the left. She's also one of the women of Rohan in 'the caves' (you'll know when you see it).
The ring represents man's addiction to power.
Blue. Someone has to take the ring. For if Good men/women fail to act they are as to blame as those who acted badly when the moment of truth came.
Gandalf and Saruman are not old men they are Maira and sort of angelic spirit in the guise of old men. Their bodies can be killed but their spirit is immortal. They are thousands of years old.
The river rising up is of Elrond's work, however, the horses are Gandalf's work.
Btw you recognize count dooku from star wars who kidnapped the emperor? Yes that's him as saruman, gandalfs wizard nemesis
Hey, you don't have to call it first time watching - it's still interesting to watch someone watch a movie you like, even if they've seen it before.
So when Saruman and Gandalf were fighting, they definitely were not "too old" for it.
oh waw, that’s very interesting * - *
14:04 On the contrary, but he's very brave.
Is this the extended
So Epic.🙏👌🇸🇪😇💚❤️🟢🟠🔴😁😀
Sounds like someone wants to visit Matamata, New Zealand. Where the shire is.
What about second breakfast?
Me: I am not a halfling, but... I respect other peoples culture when it its THAT GOOD.
are you saying the ring makes you disappear for our sake? or because you forgot, because i thought you saw it a long time ago
You’re the elfiest elf who ever elfed!
Answering your question, I believe this movie is from 2001. Also, I love your ears and your earrings, and most everything I'm watching from you. Fly safe.
Great flick 👍😎
Blue I was trying to figure out why you look so much more beautiful in this video. I thought it was your hair being done in a new way. Then it hit me that you're not wearing glasses. They let us see your amazing eyes. You look absolutely stunning. Good on you girl.
The lord of the rings is a mix of a fantasy story and a war.
Very good trilogy and its really difficult to make a film from a book many film directors have failed doing it.
She doesn’t wield the water it’s her father Elrond who defends the borders of Rivendell and Gandalf who formed the water into horses
Gandalf and Saruman are no mere old men, they are Maiar spirits! Angels created by the supreme being Eru Ilúvatar, who saw the creation of time and the world. Same as the dark lord Sauron and the Balrog Durin's Bane.
Frodo may look young but at the start here he is actually 33 lol ;p
Yeesh, you actually LOOK very elfish with the ears on. :) Awesome.
Imagine working at a hobbit pub
"she is so magnificent" no, you are magnificent 👀
sadly not a true blind reaction, but you were so cute, loved it! 👌
