Sharing feelings, musicians who talk to each other and who know how to transmit their vital message to others, this is what jazz should know how to do. Just as Oliver and Morton did in 1924, it is a delight to hear Wynton Marsalis and Dan Nimmer talking to each other today (under different conditions, of course). It is gratifying to see musicians, with a real sound, situate themselves and understand, from a contemporary perspective, the language of the "oldies". Thanks to both of you for your ability to move.
What is actually shocking here is the LEVEL OF CONTROL and expression through "crazy" techniques .... Your soul "speaks" "cries" "sings" etc. through the trumpet with such a fantastic taste. All of this deserves HIGH RESPECT FOR YOUR SKILLS MAESTRO . A PURE PLEASURE TO SEE AND WATCH !!! THANKS FOR BEING WITH US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You, "My NOLA~HOMIE" WynTon Marsalis, for that Encore Duet last night 1/30/2022 at the 3:00pm at SFJAZZ with yoU & "the NIMMER" aka Dan Nimmer!!!! I had to stand uP & DANCE in your honor!!!! I NEEDed that performance with you in your rare form!!!! WE. ALL Loved it!!!!
Don't see any problem with the faces. It's wonderful how they play this fine old music and keep to its spirit and yes add something fresh and new also. And they seem to be having a great time.
.......................................my gosh.. I wish i could just shake his hand! this makes me give SO much more respect to Wynton Marsalis! Literally: one of The best videos I have EVER seen
+Jesse De Reu > The double bar ending is nearly the one of the Original Joe Oliver - Morton recording. 04:59 I think Wynton was not very amused about his playing or probably his partner at the piano.
@@BibleStorm Hi, I'm also looking for a transcription for Trumpet, but did you manage to do one for guitar, and if so, wouldn’t mind passing my way? I could always transcribe to a Bb instrument? Thanks
One must accept harsh realities at some point in their lives : 1) There will always be war😴 2) The plague is here for a little while longer 🤷🏽♂️ 3) I will never play like that😢 (PS. God willing I am wrong about the above🙏🏾😎)
Wynton's gotta lay off the baignets.... just because Joe Oliver etc were tubby didn't make them play better and none of those old guys lived very long.

Thanks for this perfect peek into the animalized spirit of Wynton's vocal solo!
Wow! This is the most creative I've heard him.....and he's been pretty darn creative in the past. I love how Wynton keeps improving his playing.
Well, it is pretty close to the original of J.R.Morton and King Oliver
WoW😳 WOw😯 WOW🤩 WynTon🎺👀‼️❣️
Fantastic Playing!! Great humor and taste to the old style from King Oliver
Just always awesome and so much "Soul" unapologetically beautiful!

Haha love how they rit from 3:57 and how Dan Nimmer (piano) hold the break at 4:03
100 & infinity % over the top.
How do you get that brilliant sound at 1:33?
Chita que lindo
Amazing sounds. The guy on his right...tired of holding his instrument?
Wow that phrase at 2:01 is so sweet...
Yes
Love the way he uses space at 1:31-1:35.
I Felt IT!!!
Que lindo!!
Lubię ten temat muzyczny
That look he gives at 04:59, like: what kind of ending is that?
+Jesse De Reu > The double bar ending is nearly the one of the Original Joe Oliver - Morton recording. 04:59 I think Wynton was not very amused about his playing or probably his partner at the piano.
Jesse De Reu lol
He probably messed up somewhere, but he was so great, nobody noticed it.
Dios te bendiga , Wynton
Wynton marsalis is a god
Tremendo !!
WOoW
Can somebody make a trascription of this??
The human kind would be really grateful
Wynton taking me to school with that plunger mute.... Like he was saying sit down son and hear what you can do with a plunger
What kind of a man is sitting in the background?
Thanks.
Coooool!!!!!! :)
i was about to say that! do you think he was mad? cause that's what it seemed like haha
its Marcus Printup
Is It not the RAJA model :/ ??
Does anyone have a trumpet transcription that can message me with? :)
I'm going to be writing one in concert pitch, because I'm a guitarist. I have figured out about 38 seconds of it.
@@BibleStorm Hi, I'm also looking for a transcription for Trumpet, but did you manage to do one for guitar, and if so, wouldn’t mind passing my way? I could always transcribe to a Bb instrument? Thanks

I like Wynton's stank face at the end.
so much praise on Marsalis is news for me, cmon he is an ordinary trumpeter. -_-
Nice rendition but I prefer Shaye Cohns ( Tuba Skinny Band) straight forward 1920's style on the Cornet
hell he probably has one of every horn ever made.
lmao his face at the end. he had the look of what the hell was that?
2 people dont know what feeling is in music
Dan Nimmer kind of looks like Harry Connick Jr. at this angle...
un peti air de brassens
よっ!マルサリス!!(^O^)/
growling and flutter tonguing
por la cara que pone nada más terminar de tocar se nota que no le ha gustado como lo ha tocado.
охринитительно!
Wynton's gotta lay off the baignets.... just because Joe Oliver etc were tubby didn't make them play better and none of those old guys lived very long.
dude next to him looks like r kelly
Thank you for the chillz Wynston.
