If only politicians could love and respect each other like musicians. What wonderful world this could be? This is just the BEST. ❤️❤️
The flautist has it man, the blues.
Fantastic fusion. Why can't the world work along these lines?
This is just a part of Wynton's genius. He's able to get great musicians from every genre and instrument of music to create musical masterpieces together.
M
Carlos Enriques on the bass is just out of this world.on this Papa Lou Donaldson piece. Kudos to Baqar Abbas as well.
In life, you can never go wrong with music!
Discovering this piece makes me happy. Music does that, ppl!
East meets West. The characteristics of the Eastern instruments are never overshadowed. Brilliant performance.
YUSEF LATEEF, (may the Creator bless his immortal soul) was an early pioneer of combining Eastern & Western musicians, and he performed on a variety of Eastern instruments.
Wynton has quietly become a throwback musician. His efforts to keep the memory & art of LOUIS ARMSTRONG alive has been breath-taking. His efforts to keep the traditions of New Orleans alive is also breath-taking.
He doesn't just talk, he walks what he talks. Excellent Work!!!
Табла звучит, как живое сердце в индустриальном городе, показывая.что джаз жив и будет жить....
Henriquez and Nimmer duet was pretty classy.
at 9.30, pianist Dan Nimmer flashes his "I can't believe I'm REALLY playing with these guys!!" smile. Yes, Danny, you ARE playing with these guys and you LOVE it!!! GREAT STUFF!!!!
He looks like he is not even trying. That is awesome.
The sequence at 4:46 was amazing! But that drop at 5:00 had me going crazy!!! Absolutely amazing! That guy on the flute is a show off!! Hahahaha! Well done!
In 1958 my friends and I were getting ready to play Monopoly in his house.. I was 13 years old. My friend put on Lou Donaldson and I think that Blues Walk was the first song on the record. I became a jazz fan. BTW this is 2024.
The part on 8:43 is so incredibly amazing (not to mention the whole tune); Went straight into the blood and head exploded with endorphins...One of the best musicians of our time!
Carlos Henriquez is an insanely good double bass player ... I still have yet to find a solo of his that's not interesting !!!
Dzaan magaria mgelia
What an exquisite blending of so many mellow sounds!!
I adore this! Many thank you's to the Sachal Jazz Ensemble for your fantastic sounds.🎼🖤
This mixes so well! Everyone complementing one another. There is an outstanding understanding going on here. Enjoying this very much.
Cat on the Bamboo flute is awesome ! Cat on the sitar also...
Another kind of jazz fusion that blows my mind! Wow! Love it! Gratitude! ❤️💕👈🏽
RESPECT WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU ATHENS
I am so inspired by Wynton, Marsalis's music orgestra
Through the collaboration with JLCO, which was a coincidental result of a BBC report about a bunch of forgotten pakistani musicians doing a rendition of "Take five", the Sachal Ensemble came back to honor and audience after a lifetime of discredition and terror under islamistic supression in Pakistan. See the dokumentary "Song of Lahore"
I could listen to them do that for hours my goodness what a groove
Respect!

The true spirit of Sufism winning hearts
This video brought me a breath of fresh air in the midst of this west coast fire/smoke apocolypse. Such amazing playing from all with extra nod to Baqar, Nimmer (SO tasty!), Hussain, and Wynton.
I woke up this morning to just wonderful sounds. I went to sleep with the television on. The wonderful sounds of Baqar Abbas and Paul Nash dueling just sent joy to my soul. That a great start to my day!!
This was a feast for the ears. A meaningful link of the past to the present. Shantih Shantih Shantih. Peace that surpasseth understanding forever and ever. Amen.
this is what our planet for-for Joy! Make love and joy.
a well executed synthesis of East and West !

Thanks please
This performance is like a musical conversation beautiful, thanks guys.Wynton Marsalis has beautiful hands.🥰✌️
The beautiful blues”!🥰✨✌️
What is so fascinating with the relationship between the musicians and they’re instruments is how they become one with each other and the instrument ends up with the “real voice “. Deep respect for all musicians, just the effort alone and putting your selves out there is extraordinary.♥️✌️
Thank You. Outstanding work. Global improv...
..de acuerdo Julio Salvatierra......grandioso siempre lo que WM logra con el Jazz..yo tambien llevo la musica en vida...Gracias mil.
La générosité et l’amour du prochain est palpable : ) Bravo.
The sitar player (Nafees) was outstanding.. I have seen many eastern musicians combine jazz with eastern classical music but proved disappointing... There is still more to be done as the fusion btw jazz n eastern music still needs to be refined. Hats off to Nafees bcz its a very though jobs wht he did there.
Indeed, he somehow manage to absorb the jazz which is quite though with an instrument like Sitar. I recently saw some Jazz failures from Anoushka Shankar.
sounds like he dug a little into the basics of blues jazz, copped a couple of kenny burrell riffs maybe , and absorbed it. he had to like it. you have to like it, spend some time with it to play it well. the flute player does okay here, but he kills on my favorite things though, playing it straight up Eastern.
Siamo fortunati ad ascoltare questa musica !!

Very beautiful indeed al off them ❤
this song brought me full circle to Dizzy Gillespie's version of Blues Walk and transported to Dizzy's intro of A Night in Tunisia - realm of the Metaphysical. Definitely worth recording these collaborations in a studio album!

Ìch habe selten bei einem Duett wie bei B.Evans das jedes Instrument ein eigen Leben hat. Soll später mit dem Partnèr sagtest du glaube ich nicht häufig mehr gespielt haben. Bin dankbar für diese Aufführung. Katerina
