That tiger was one of the eldest and most tame. Yet it acted on instinct to defend itself when roy bopped it on the head with his mic.
nanakimurasaki Oh dear, that's a lovely sounding sentiment, but I prefer to deal with reality rather than soppy sentiments. Whatever age it is if this animal is tame, at least to the degree that it accepts food from humans, then it is more dangerous for it to be released. It may see no problem in approaching human homes and eventually someone will shoot it, or it may feel threatened enough to attack someone whilst they're trying to ward it away from the property and THEN be shot. I might add that being shot is not as quick a death as they make it look in the movies. Such occurrences when releasing tame predators are well documented. If it was born in captivity it won't have the ability to survive. Not everything an animal does is down to instinct, many species are known to learn from their parents and through play and experience. Not everything is just picked up automatically, it won't just suddenly understand what to do, it might very well just wander around lost, hungry, cold, and then die of starvation. That's the thing that really annoys me about you people, you think about it with your emotions, and some romantic idea of how things are, completely forgetting to take in any real world considerations. In the real world it's never as simple as "it's an animal, it should be free and giddy in the forest", in reality it could easily just lead to a sticky end. You think about that spiritual nonsense all you like, the rest of us will worry about it's actual well being.
nanakimurasaki It's a month later, but I just wanted to clear this up for anyone else that might stumble upon this conversation: Montecore (the tiger in question) never 'attacked' Roy. This is a very common misconception that has been dis-proven both by animal behaviorists and Roy himself. Roy suffers from low blood sugar, and ended up fainting on set that day. What Montecore did was try to pick Roy up like a mother cat would pick up its young -- by the neck -- and drag him to safety. Montecore was attempting to protect Roy, not harm him, but in doing so he nearly killed Roy accidentally. I guess you could argue that as part of your 'instincts' case, but in no way was it self-defense.
She's sooo beautiful. ..I loved when u mentioned her butt lol we do that all the time with oir kitties.."got yer butt" is what we always say lol thank you for sharing your experience with this gorgeous creature ..iloved also when she smelled ur hand and was rubbing the fence..so sweet...its easy to forget she could nom my face off lol but thankyou for sharing
Thats awesome, i love the purr she makes! I read some of the comments and people were hating on the fact that she is caged up. If anything it's probably best for her considering her old age, and you guys obviously take good care of her and show her love and affection. I love this video!
Commenters: "What a horrible life" She said. "this is awful" He says. "I can't stand animals being caged" they said. "Poor baby" said another. You know what I think is awful? Animals going extinct, by who you say? By none other than human beings. This panther is 16 years old, and to put it frankly she's better off than the rest. She gets fed well and doesn't have to worry about getting hit by a car, and shot down due to going on someones property (oh wait, I'm sorry, the territory that they had before humans came along and settled on it). These animals, and many more are slowly but surly going extinct, and in about forty to fifty years most of the animals we know will have already gone extinct, and some of you are complaining about them living in places like this, being preserved, repopulating in a safe area? To be honest the wild isn't even a safe place to live for animals anymore, they can't even bounce back anymore thanks to us and our need to expand and so on.
howard mckenna speak for yourself. Are all humans corporations who dump pollutants and tear down forests? Absolutely not. Many advocate for the preservation of all life and a cleaner Earth, so these blanket statements cause mass self-loathing and resentment of our fellow man. Blame the 1% who control this world, not the other 98% who would have it otherwise.
I noticed how she acted like cat, right down to pretending to ignore him and by washing herself. It turns out she really did want to get acquainted and be petted.
Oh that is SOOOO CUTE! I always knew that cats were direct descendants from tigers and cougars, but I literally had NO idea just how alike tigers, cougars, and felines (aka, cats) were. It was so incredibly cool to watch that cougar brush herself up against her owner's hand while hugging the fence, and PURR! Awww, that cougar purr is so sweet. I love ALL cats now, just about every type of one.
greatest moment i've ever seen at a zoo was with a cougar like this, people doing the same thing, then when it showed it's ass to them it sprayed them. funniest ever... and it stunk bad.
LAnonHubbard you stand and look at yourself in the mirror and say your ugly, fat and very unattractive, wanting to hear a compliment i tell you that your eyesight is damn near perfect.
NO roar. If it is going to attack, it will show it in it's body language. Cougars prefer to ambush their pray then to chase it down. Less energy involved. Now, if you work around these big cats; you'll know the signs to look for when they are about to attack.
"What are you doing?" (back turned) "Is someone talking to me?"(man starts to move away)"Wait a minute, you didn't scratch me yet!"No matter how big, cats will be cats.
That's so interesting. The fact that this cat acts exactly like a regular domesticated cat almost makes me want one, if only they couldn't kill me haha.
I won't lower myself to respond to most of these comments, however, I do think y'all are doing your best to care for, while making sure the 'critters' are well taken care of, and (y'all) are acknowledged as a friend, (and a caregiver). I only have the mini (4 Kittys)... variety as 2 Tabbys, a Calico, and a Torbie companion, but they do purr and rub lots when they receive affection...and reciprocate. LOTS! Your work with the rescue and care is obvious, and certainly appreciated. The video was super! Even the Big Kitties require and adore love!...
+Texas Bill actually I saw one 2 nights in a row about a mile from my house. We know the local game warden and he told us they can range up to 75 miles here in Texas. Still it would be happier if free cuz you are right thats a small cage
You'd be surprised how wild cats can be affectionate. They only attack you if they are scared or feel intimidated, they're like humans, if you approach them, they'll be growling and hissing at you thinking "Why are you coming over to me? What do you want?". They'll attack sometimes because they'll scent your fear and tease you and want to play but they don't understand they're hurting you, they're saying "Don't be such a wussy, come chase me!". If you're patient, they'll be grateful enough to let you scratch their necks or give them a giant pork chop.
+Hulkerine100 Kinda makes sense that they would think they aren't hurting you if they thought you were just another cat with fur that can help mitigate claws. Or maybe big cats are more tolerant to sharp pointy things
furseisekilulz They honestly don't understand, it's just like when domestic cats or kittens scratch at your legs, they think you want to play fight with them. Because of so many hunters that have killed big cats in the past, they are automatically hostile and aggressive but when they get to know you slowly and recognise your scent, you earn their trust. Kevin Richards, a Australian wildlife expert spends most of his time cuddling lions and rubbing their tummies. A woman that rescued a lion from a circus that was abusing it was hugging and petting the lion beside his cage and he was very happy to see her.
Hulkerine100 my guess is simply that they've accepted them as family, and just think they're another cat, or at least they're not aware that humans don't enjoy all of the same thing cats do. Many animals are capable of forming bonds with humans and each other. I suppose that's how animals recognize family in the first place, and that would mean anyone could be family if they acted like it.
I hope she has surroundings that are better than the wire cage! Can she hide, climb trees, and have access to a more natural place to live? Has she spent her whole life behind a chain link fence?? Please tell me she's not living in a tiny area like that, with no enrichment or attention to her needs as a wild creature. She was meant to live in a forest. Please do right by her somehow.
She's so beautiful, and it tears my heart thinking about a wild creature penned up. That's why I support Big Cat Rescue and the Wildcat Sanctuary all the time. They're doing the hard work of giving big cats who are abused and forced to perform or raised for fur (how awful!) forever homes. And these organizations mount challenges to outmoded legislation and prosecute offenders in defense of these noble creatures!
Cruithne I can't quite tell if you're mad at the person who uploaded this or not. But, just to perhaps ease that, if in case you are, the uploader didn't really give much information as to the acquisition of the animal. Its possible that the uploader rescued the animal from one of the situations you listed, or perhaps it was bred in captivity and has no true survival skills - you can't send a creature that doesn't know what its doing out to be killed by one that does, and instinct only goes so far. That aside, she looks healthy and content to me. I won't claim to have any real knowledge of big cats, but I've done my part rescuing common domestic cats; and from what I know about them, she seems so content and happy - rubbing up against the cage to leave her scent - trying to mark the uploader as hers. Its adorable. I do agree though, that she does deserve a better enclosure, a wild creature needs space if its expected to really flourish. Sorry about the wall of text! ^^"
Nyght♥Of♥Fire This one is long, too! No apology needed. I hear and understand your points, and they're well stated. No, my issue was with how she was kept, IF indeed the open fenced area was her home. She's a beautiful creature who, to me, would love a big spacious environment, with enrichment opportunities to play, run, jump, hide and climb, mark and establish territory. Well-meaning (but insensitive) captivity of a gorgeous wild one just touches something deep inside. Even cats taken from homes or enclosures where they were illegally kept are rescued and placed in a rich environment that they might not have ever encountered. Enlightened zoos provide their captive-born and raised animals a "realistic" environment in which to live. I hope her purring and rubbing wasn't a plea for for regard or contact, no matter how fleeting it was. (fingers crossed.) Cats, like any other animals, have natural requirements: they climb, they use their claws, etc. Cats are highly solitary, and their instincts require seclusion and often places to hide. And the rescued animal returns to a more normal mode of behavior when their instinctual needs are met. I'm just hoping the best for her future. Thank you for your comments! Thank you for rescuing and caring, too.
I agree that she deserves a better environment than what she was provided. Hers was rather barren, and even looked boring. It is wrong, and I'm really hoping that cage was just a temporary thing. It doesn't even seem to have some sort of top on it, and by far its not big enough to prevent her escape which is dangerous for both her and the handler. I really do think, though, that her rubbing really was just a show of affection. Just judging by body language (I'm surprised by how similar it is to a domestic cat's) she seemed very content and calm, if she wasn't truly it would have reflected in her body language - flicking of her tail, ears backing; but it didn't see any of that. So if she was discontent, or as you say giving a cry for attention, she didn't really show it and seemed fine with what she received- of course, thats just on what was shown in the video. She may have shown more signs of how she felt once the video ended, though its hard to say for sure from the video alone. But I don't think you need to be worried about her and attention, considering how someone else referred to the uploader as 'spoiling' her, I think that even though her habitat is bad that she is cared about and for. Anyways, before this comment gets any longer, thank you for replying, it was very nice to speak with you. ^^
That stupid kissing noise. Everyone does it around animals. And I guarantee you, every one of those animals are thinking, "WTF is wrong with you and why are you making that dumb noise?"
She's happy and her enclosure seems plenty big enough. I think she's fine. Plus any animal that friendly with people don't tend to do well in the wild.
Beautiful girl, and she seems really friendly too! What does her (or any cougar, really) fur feel like? I'm not a very adventurous person, and have only petted dogs and house cats. xD

You think about that spiritual nonsense all you like, the rest of us will worry about it's actual well being.
nanakimurasaki It's a month later, but I just wanted to clear this up for anyone else that might stumble upon this conversation:
Montecore (the tiger in question) never 'attacked' Roy.
She's sooo beautiful. ..I loved when u mentioned her butt lol we do that all the time with oir kitties.."got yer butt" is what we always say lol thank you for sharing your experience with this gorgeous creature ..iloved also when she smelled ur hand and was rubbing the fence..so sweet...its easy to forget she could nom my face off lol but thankyou for sharing
what a beautiful cougar!! she just looks so sweet, but of course
she is still a wild animal.
That's why I don't date them.
Thats awesome, i love the purr she makes! I read some of the comments and people were hating on the fact that she is caged up. If anything it's probably best for her considering her old age, and you guys obviously take good care of her and show her love and affection. I love this video!
A truly beautiful feline!
She seems like an overgrown kitten, such a sweet girl!! You big, loveable ball of fur!! 😊😊😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Commenters:
"What a horrible life" She said.
Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez Well said.
Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez Is there a way to like your comment 10k times? I couldn't agree more. I love animals.
*_P R E A C H_*
Rich Martzeni... There's no denying, humans are the most successful parasite on earth.
howard mckenna speak for yourself.
It's like my kitten but bigger ; ;
And if you startle it it might have an instinctive defence mechanism that will cause it to tear your abdomen apart
Alex Mitra As I said _just like my kitten but bigger_
Alex Mitra and when you startle a cat, it don't goes "Roar" like you startled a dragon or your mom, it's a cat, it's in their nature to hide.
The Bao HAHAHAHA "like you startled a dragon or your mom" xDDDDDDDDDDD
+imaminxkitty Damnnn! I aint's stickin' it anywhere NEAR there, then!
She's such a sweet, affectionate mountain lion, she's adorable, Aww, good kitty!!
I'd say 16 is pretty young for a "Cougar"
i see what u did there
badam ttttssss
Larga Hilfire
More like " BRRRRRrrrrrr ......Waah waah waah waAaAaaaaaah"
Jeff Baker
*Gracefully accepts * :D
+Chechen Wolf traci was a cougar at 16
You are doing a wonderful job taking care of this cougar! She looks healthy, happy and safe inside her home. Well Done!
Sometimes, you just have to find the right corner of the cage before a cougar will show you some love.
"16 is old for cougars"
Bro you're gonna end up in jail...
That must be at a zoo. No one can keep animals like this in captivity as pets on their own. It's illegal.
@@musiciangal02453 it's legal in some country
musiciangal02453 it’s legal in some states
Now that's an epic way of phrasing the dumb joke everyone else already made.
Cat doing cat things, only bigger :)
Yeah but where the wheelbarrow?
If one day human technology managed to armor my skins and enhance my strength, I won't mind cuddle a big cat.
I love how he calls her “BABY CAT!” That’s what my family calls all our cats as a term
of endearment
So cute, I love cats, and after all it is just a big kitty.
Heracles A. 😂
What a sweet and pretty cat.
Wow, so beautiful. It is amazing to see it acting just like a house cat, rubbing and purring. How fun!
Bazel Merchad Be sure to read your history, dear one. You will have peace, once you know the Truth. Blessings to you! :)
D'aaawww, she's a real sweetheart. Wish I had a cougar like this one.
She's beautiful :3
Yes, but does she like laser pointers?
I noticed how she acted like cat, right down to pretending to ignore him and by washing herself. It turns out she really did want to get acquainted and be petted.
16? Old for a cougar? I thought they had to be over 35.
I wish as a human I could reproduce that deep guttural purr and growl that big cats have. Nothing more soothing and intimidating at the same time....
Wonderful, gorgeous creature. You were so lucky to be able to pet him!
So you've got a thing for "courgars" eh?
eh
eh
eh
Beautiful cat. Should be free. Hope this was a rescue and release mission.
I love ALL cats now, just about every type of one.
greatest moment i've ever seen at a zoo was with a cougar like this, people doing the same thing, then when it showed it's ass to them it sprayed them. funniest ever... and it stunk bad.
she is purring because she is expecting to enjoy your tasty HAND soon
i once petted a cougar and she bit me! Turned me into a mountain lion and now they can't stop biting me and i can't stop loving them..
I'd have thought that someone calling themselves the joker would be good at constructing jokes. How silly of me.
LAnonHubbard you stand and look at yourself in the mirror and say your ugly, fat and very unattractive, wanting to hear a compliment i tell you that your eyesight is damn near perfect.
Sorry... no improvement in the humour department yet.
YOU'RE*
You're, G thanks... F'kin A
I’d better quit watching these before I buy one
She's a pretty girl, but I was holding my breath praying she wouldn't snap, and take off a nub. He was bold to pet her around the mouth.
nah I would just go in there and cuddle with it
***** ok but really not scared to pet it behind a fence sorry , that cat is friendly ,it let you know when you need to back off
Mathieu,
Yeah, when it has it's jaws around your trachea.
juanlambda27 no it would roar and puff before that
NO roar. If it is going to attack, it will show it in it's body language. Cougars prefer to ambush their pray then to chase it down. Less energy involved.
Now, if you work around these big cats; you'll know the signs to look for when they are about to attack.
Its so awesome that this cat is so much like a house cat. They want to be loved like any other animal.
Just like a housecat, amazing🤗
"What are you doing?" (back turned) "Is someone talking to me?"(man starts to move away)"Wait a minute, you didn't scratch me yet!"No matter how big, cats will be cats.
He is even trying to headbutt you like a normal domestic cat does, they're trying to put there scent on you
Awww. It's like a big kitty that can actually kill you. :3
cats are cats. they let you give them attention when they want it
Go pet an adult lion, why don't you
I have.
Beautiful cat. She is growing old gracefully. Still cute for an elderly predatory creature.
He's not licking you, he's tasting you....
Every time I go to the bar, I end up leaving with a cougar. They look nothing like this.
Probably, not. But then again, they didn't bite your head & leave puncture marks.
That's so interesting. The fact that this cat acts exactly like a regular domesticated cat almost makes me want one, if only they couldn't kill me haha.
She's beautiful...
Lovely kitty!
2:05 'OK human that's enough, thank you.'
...
'Actually I want sum more pleez'
Awwww he/she looks so soft!
Looks like a small cage for such an animal.
As a wild animal that cougar would have a territory of 40 miles, isn't it lucky to live in a tiny cage?
As a hippie you have freedom of the internet. aren't you lucky to have someone say "shut the fuck up already"?
Jade Radiance triggered.
+Texas Bill actually I saw one 2 nights in a row about a mile from my house. We know the local game warden and he told us they can range up to 75 miles here in Texas. Still it would be happier if free cuz you are right thats a small cage
A purr from any cat is still a happy cat. This is just a big, happy cat. =)
+Hulkerine100
Kinda makes sense that they would think they aren't hurting you if they thought you were just another cat with fur that can help mitigate claws.
Hulkerine100
my guess is simply that they've accepted them as family, and just think they're another cat, or at least they're not aware that humans don't enjoy all of the same thing cats do.
Many animals are capable of forming bonds with humans and each other. I suppose that's how animals recognize family in the first place, and that would mean anyone could be family if they acted like it.
+furseisekilulz That's what I love about wolfs and big cats, they're affectionate and loyal once they get to know you.
+terminator360tm In ancient Egypt, the people there worship cats. There's a big cat god in ancient Egyptian mythology.
wheres that wheel barrow looool
Beautiful Cougar Cat❄️❄️❄️❄️♥️♥️♥️
what is she doing? she's looking for a way out of the fucking cage, that's what she's doing
thats not a cage. thats a fenced enclosure.

Another Guy With An Anime Porn Avatar
...and somehow, you have an issue with me having too much time on my hands?
Are you unhappy with your life?
:
No just stating the obvious 👌
So what's the story on that other wheelbarrow?
What a sweetheart. She meows, purrs, says hi, ignores just like my cat.
They're doing the hard work of giving big cats who are abused and forced to perform or raised for fur
(how awful!) forever homes.
(fingers crossed.)
Cats, like any other animals, have natural requirements: they climb, they use their claws, etc.
Nyght♥Of♥Fire
And you. Thanks for your cogent and well-expressed thoughts. Much appreciated.
“It’s your butt”
Lol cute commentary ^•^
Ignoring the camera in the beginning was the most "house catlike" behavior
"So what'd you do today?"
"Oh, nothing really. Just having a conversation and petting a cougar."
"...Are you on drugs?"
"That's besides the point"
I'm just here for the.."why is this In my recommended videos" comments.
You ain't missing much bud.
shes gorgeous! and really very sweet!
and on that note, I'm going to sleep with a smile. :)
She marking u by the way. When they rub on u w their face they're putting their scent on u.
Butterfly Whisperer Why do they do that? Friendliness?
UNSKIALzPSN Marking territory.
Magnificent animal. Please take good care of her.
That stupid kissing noise. Everyone does it around animals. And I guarantee you, every one of those animals are thinking, "WTF is wrong with you and why are you making that dumb noise?"
Does anyone care what you think? Ha, no. Shut the fuck up. I bet animals hate you
Actually, yes, everyone cares what I think, and animals do in fact love me. They love me so much, I have, like, 2400 of them.
*kiss *
"What are you doing? That's so weird and stupid. If you're trying to show affection just lick me like a normal person."
I don't think animals analyze and criticize things to that degree.
No they don't, because animals can't think like humans does.
She's happy and her enclosure seems plenty big enough. I think she's fine. Plus any animal that friendly with people don't tend to do well in the wild.
Wow I've only ever seen fleeting glimpses of cougars, she's very nice :)
old or not... she still has a thing for young guys..
I wouldn't blame fans of Red Dead Redemption for misjudging these feline beauties.
have played it, yea cougars can have a bad rep, but they really are just like normal cats... just bigger.
Man: "My hand smell good?"
Cougar: "smells, DELICIOUS!"
Poor thing in such a small space :(
+Dawn Brumbaugh I agree
+ThisIsMeArnold
Well, you aren't very compassionate.
+Jebediah's Lab I don't think you get it
RampantSarcasm
I don't think you get it.
Jebediah's Lab
get it perfectly fine, you're the one lacking in understanding, you literally have no idea what I'm even talking about do you?
Beautiful girl, and she seems really friendly too! What does her (or any cougar, really) fur feel like? I'm not a very adventurous person, and have only petted dogs and house cats. xD
