I may not agree with it but different country, different rules. You could say the same thing for shooting over here. Standing there waiting for ducks to fly in where they feed. Time to come off your high horse Eddie.
Don't lose sight of the fact the level of outrage is actually a positive here. It demonstrates that hunters in the UK operate to a higher ethical standard. I don't think this plays into the hands of the antis. I think it shows the antis the majority of UK hunters have higher ethical standards and a moral compass and are not the bloodthirsty, trigger happy nutters they like to portray us to be. I am glad it was shown and even more pleased at the reaction it has provoked. I doubt there would be the appetite for it to happen here in the uk.
Why do we always seek approval from antis, you'll never get it, they hate us.Judging others harshly does not make us better. The birds were killed closely, cleanly and retrieved quickly. From a sporting point of view it didn't seem to offer much challenge or sport but apart from that I can't see anything wrong with what they do if you accept that Pheasants are bred to sport shoot and kill. Killing cleanly is surely the biggest priority.
Absolutely disgusting. Why are you publishing this carnage? Stupidity and presents the wrong image. This is not fieldsports, it has no sporting element. Just a horrible bloodthirsty activity. If you must shoot birds then they must have a good chance of escape.
That is not game shooting it is bloody slaughter I am glad we in England know how to treat our game birds and this should never have been shown on Fieldsport Channel this is all the anti need it is disgusting,
I would not let it worry you the only difference is on some shoots in the UK the pheasants are shot much lower, and as for the duck in the UK 1000 gets put down and flies around until they shoot the bag. ‘Game shooting” 😂
Then let’s agree to comment as shooters when low and I mean low birds are shot .. if we all commented when we see that and Guns were warned once politely and then told to put their guns away or go home ..would things not improve??
Was going to comment but then thought ill get slated, but im glad to see that all the other fellow hunters have some decency and sense aswell. This kind of shooting is not hunting, its not driven game, its just wrong on whatever level you want to place it. Quite sad this channel has decided to even show it tbh, this is about the only thing I would ever get on board with banning.
@@GavinM161I’m not trying to say what’s right or wrong and be the judge and jury. You cannot if you have any ethics at all think this is an ok way to shoot game. It’s a certain death for the animal, where is the sport. Guns are licensed for sport, game/animal or ranges/clays. Tell me where this kind of shooting comes into those brackets. It’s not sporting, it’s not anything except a certain death for the bird and certain fixed result for the shooters. It’s wrong on every level sorry and field sports posting this kind of crap to UK audience that no doubt Anti’s follow is nothing but a field day for them
Personally think it's rubbish not sporting at all and ridiculous to call it hunting but it's a different country and attitude towards it so my comment is a bit naive
Wtf Charlie? I appreciate the difference between British and foreign practices, and this highlights the difference for the antis. But this was beyond grim.
That's not hunting, it just blasting birds out of the sky who stand no chance. Appalling! I think stuff like this really is a danger to our sport. I think these kind of practices happen the more east you go into Europe. I doubt this is allowed in Germany, Austria, Netherlands Belgium etc.
The hand release is commonly how it is done in Canada. Being an ex game keeper from the UK from many years ago before I came here, I was appalled. The return rates on pheasants are high... maybe 65% which is not possible with pen release. The closest to this here is walked up over pointers, all up the arse shooting, again I am not overly keen. The birds are not what I woukd consider "quality" targets, lacking height, lacking speed, lacking explosive flush.
Wow, £400 for a license!! That’s the price of some people’s gun! Should have seen it coming from labour. Where will the tax funds come from once people start handing in their licenses because they can’t afford to possess one anymore? - that includes clothing, ammunition, scopes, guns, and much much more on equipment. You would have thought labour would learn from their many many mistakes. I see that their “growth” isn’t quite going to plan.
Charlie clearly set this as an example of shooting game that is outside of UK norms. Everyone is getting very upset unnecessarily, better to see this and decide that shooting game in Slovakia isn’t for us.
I guess they get ready, button up, load up, look cool in their clothing, set the camera and shout pull, then someone throws one captured bird directly in their direction, they shoot it. And in some alternate universe on planet wealthy, they think they belong to the same community that I do.
I completely disagree with the method of 'hunting' shown here in Slovakia... I appreciate you showing us other cultures methods though, even though I disagree with it!
The fact fieldsports channel havent condemned this is baffling. No wonder theres so many antis. Such a shame cause the rest of the video after that was brilliant abd had a really amazing message about the conservation importance of big game hunting.
Totaly overemotional response from the brits here. The birds are still guided over guns & shot. I bet the biggest difference is all of those birds will be eaten, unlike in the uk 🤪
Not a great idea to publish this I don't think - even by association it makes our UK shooting community look bad! Very different shooting culture for sure, but to the uneducated anti-shooting brigade in the UK this just fuels the fire.
Well it’s bird shooting and you have to consider that raising birds as we do will be almost impossible with wolves bears boar raccoon dogs foxes jackals and much more. I think it’s easy to critisize but I think it’s an interesting piece worthy of airing . Considering the love of high bird shoots in the UK - is that ethical ? It must lead to far more wounded birds
Words fail me, I cannot believe this channel would be associated with that type of killing (yes killing), any non shooters would just associate all shooters with that, we are our own worst enemies, and that film did not help shooting in any way shape or form, who on earth thought up that film? Unbelievable!
That is just horrible! I’m not anti game shooting but that is a step too far for me. How is it spirt to throw a bird into the firing line? I wish you hadn’t bothered posting this video and glad to say this behaviour isn’t something that would be found amongst shoots and individual guns near me.
You're the karen mate, if i don't like or agree with something ill say it. Not bottle up with some politically correct BS and say oh their country their rules 😂
@duopkik oh aye youre just in tears over these "karens" expressing their opinion just as you are? Youre hilarious lad, look in the mirror ya hypocrite merry christmas 😂😂
@duopkik laughing at yaself in the mirror? 😂😂 when did i say youre complaining, so not only are you a hypocrite you cant read either! what a joke you are mate calling yaself a karen haha! Have a gooden ya muppet
This is just so wrong...... can't say what i really want to say, as i would get banned. Totally unsporting, and not much skill required either,.... sorry, it's a big NO from me.
Brilliant video Charley and team as always , nice to see how other cultures do things , splitting image that's some idea and the lads with their interpretation of driven game, kind of a poor mans shoot , very interesting, Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and all the team from across the pond ☘
Watching this driven shooting continental style. Not sporting YER! What about the use of THERMAL and Infer red Scopes then in the U.K. "Hunting is more about expectation than result" A Hungarian Saying.
No different from uk pheasant shoots apart from in the uk 3 times as many birds would have been slaughtered the birds are bred to be shot for sport by people with too much money pheasant shoots are pointless. Would be better off doing simulated game days as most guns want to shoot the birds but don't want to touch them
Disgraceful. Where is the sport in this? A very poor decision to film and then publish this.
It's the real world, why not report on things like this, looked like a good event, well run ect.
So are we debating the definition of a sporting chance? Just asking?
I may not agree with it but different country, different rules.
You could say the same thing for shooting over here. Standing there waiting for ducks to fly in where they feed.
Time to come off your high horse Eddie.
If you are a sporting shooter … you dont shoot birds 6 ft off the ground .. ducks or others !!!
Please don't call it hunting as it isn't.

2:45 what’s the point? It’s not hunting it’s just glorified farming with a different kind of dispatch.
Yeah dont really feel like hunting
That's not sport
no its not
But shooting ducks over a pond in the UK where they feed is?
Different country different rules.

That's rather dangerous ground when you want to ban someone else's way but keep your own untouched.

How long before we start fishing for salmon and trout in a barrel? Bloody joke to call this hunting!
Just to add my voice that this was a mistake, this isn't hunting and not something I'd ever want a part of.

You would get more respect from if you were shooting clays

Shooting, yes. Hunting, hell no

Would liked to hear Saint Robert Ruark words on this about the British government

Not a great idea to publish this I don't think - even by association it makes our UK shooting community look bad! Very different shooting culture for sure, but to the uneducated anti-shooting brigade in the UK this just fuels the fire.
There are more woodcock now than ever I can find up to 100 a day on my ground with a team of good setters defo no shortage
so £400 would solve the problem
I don’t want to see this “style” of shooting on this channel or any other! This is grist to the mill for antis everywhere.
How this channel thinks it’s acceptable to show this on a uk channel… disgusting
I understand the outrage and not something that appeals to me, but ethically it’s not that much different to a lot of reared pheasant shoots.
WHAT happened to the best of hunting youtube with James Marshington??? It was the best part of the show.........
Tired
They’d be better off on a simulated clay day!
It's not a grey partridge, it's an English. She's cute though!
They don't do that in Germany
The Munty had just done a runner from one of Tom Kerridge`s overpriced eateries 😂
I cant believe you have put this on your channel, sad!
Feeding Cows anti Farting Chemicals 1🤔 Merry Christmas to you All

Ever heard of a 'Tower Shoot'? Standard in the New England states- hilarious!
My comment on this "returned an error" and it won;t let me post.

Nice mag m8 ,my brown inlaw had the airarms Kamsin i think it was called lol😊
This will be giving Bettws Hall and the other commercials a hard-on.
Call that a holiday? How fatuous...
Birds don’t get much of a sporting chance there, not for me thanks, glad the UK has a different approach.

Hand thrown birds? Shame on you!

Worst episode you’ve ever shown. Disgraceful to the name of game shooting
Y would you even put this on the channel terrible 😢
Charlie you will show any content weather it's sporting or not shame on you it's just money for you driven by greed.
Depressing
As a gamekeeper in the uk this is awful. This is nothing more than mass slaughter. Been watching the field sports channel for years now unsubscribed.

Why? They aren't rare.
They are sporting birds and taste amazing.
We see probably 60+ per day on our shoot. Some drives average 20 at least.
