So basically the strategy is to be so overpowered that you can push through this unholy love child of Unlimited Mars and Abyss Mode without much issue.
Honestly, that's what made the mode fun for me, as somebody who picked up the game and proceeded to get through the whole Boss Rush within a week or two despite sucking terribly (fear my one half-assed easy-bake Es combo, AI!).
Carl was absolute hell to try to beat, because I had to fight him with only access to the easiest dungeons, when my equipment was crappy and the game was like HEY NOW FIGHT SOMETHING ON THE HARDEST AI DIFFICULTY HAVE FUN. It took me dozens of tries and involved unplugging my laptop so the game went at like half speed, max. Boss Rush Carl was a dick.
By contrast, Unlimited Nine took me three tries and Unlimited Izanami took two, even though I wouldn't say I was a whole lot better (again, I had exactly one half-assed easy-bake "combo," which is just the same five moves repeated as long as the AI will let me)...because I was rocking Regeneration Lv. 9, Poison MAX, Confusion MAX, Anti-Distortion, and Shield Breaker (it was the skill that came with the grimoire). Everything between Lambda and those two I beat on the first try. Are the enemies broken as all hell? Yep. Are you ALSO broken as all hell? Oh, HELL yes. And it is GLORIOUS.
Which meant that when Unlimited Ragna took me 20+ tries because I couldn't get past his regeneration, it was still a lot of fun, because he also couldn't get past MY regeneration, and it took some fifteen-plus rounds for him to actually KO me the first time instead of winning by time up.
I'm stuck on celica, fuck her special skill.
I personally found Carl to be a Cakewalk.
Now Azrael and Jin? They were pains in the ass.
Meh. Carl was a major dickhead, at first, but now, I can maul him with no issue.
I wish I can say the same for Lambda, though. The damn Murakumo keeps eating away at my health like candy. Though she seems way more fun than having to stomach Celica (seriously, whoever thought Boss Celica would be a fun challenge needs 50 punches to the face).

Went through Abyss mode boss rush thanks to Wild West, but it still was quite difficult :o
Also, I can't believe that there isn't a trophy for completing the boss rush... It's just the most insane mode in the game

It seems you have to grind on easy mode to get the best Grimoire and skills before doing the bosses. Don't understand why the normal levels had to be locked that way.

omfg thank you for the hakuman astral one been failing it for abit almost got him but never thought of just grabbing the dude thanks again and the platinum one at low grimore and crappy skills wont work get either a different character if the one youre using isnt doing well and and get a black grimore with decreased heat or slower movement speed was my way to finish platinum otherwise she abused my tager and bullet

Did you extract the rare skill vindicator n retaliator skill from grimoires? Coz i cant any drops of this skill coz their rare skill obtain on grimoire at top portion lvl. Their rare to extract.

Hey, you never had to fight Susanoo or Es.
Susano'o is an unlockable gotten by either DLC or beating the whole game, and Es is just straight up DLC.

Idk if people will still look for tips in the comment section but here it is.
Get Activite Infinite, Rainbow Aura, Stat Boost, Anti-Distortion Drive, Confusion. GG. :) If you like more damage n more challenge cuz confusion makes enemy go monkey, get Activite Infinite, Rainbow Aura, Stat Boost, The Guardian, Unwavering Will.
If you are a zoner, get Activite Infinite, Rainbow Aura, Stat Boost, Speed Reduction, Increase Speed(or Lucky Puncher EX so they can't block your proj while they move slowly, they can only u at this point).
If you are izanami, get Activite Infinite, Rainbow Aura, Stat Boost, Infinite Barrier, Hard Grip(can swap for others) Note, ribcage have time limit even if they can't chip you. I think only unblockable will get you at this point.
There are also some meme build that allows for nearly infinite DP cancel DP.
Grim of Abyss mode is super fun, go experiment with the grimoire :).
only have C rank grimoire with stat range from 80-100 and 3 c skills that aren't help much. How am i supposed to get pass carl and his 2-on-1 technique
I'm playing as Terumi.
The only chance I have against Carl is to spam Overdrive DD's. Even then, his rapid regen is bullshit.

Anyone got some tips, because Celica's kicking my ass......
You'll be able to do a lot more damage to her if your HP is above 35% (when your health bar isn't orange), so try using a grimoire that can recover your health. Also, it may help to lower your HP stat so that you can get above 35% quicker.

Hi all, so I need some advice on what to do. I'm currentley stuck on boss # 26 and it is literally impossible for me to beat her for i hardly do any damage at all. I can trap her in the corner and wombo her for 99 seconds and I would still lose due to time running out. I have been grinding for better skills that will help me but I get all the crappy ones. I don't know what to do so any help would be appreciated.
