  • Check out the latest review of the Ss Brew Tech Infussion Mash Tun and Sparge Arm. This review highlights the 10 gallon version with optional sparge assembly. It's a pretty nifty piece of equipment which is a great replacement for your igloo cooler mash tun. If you're looking to upgrade this is a great option.

Awesome set up. Been looking at Ss Brew Tech stuff, mainly conicals, which led me to your video/website. Thanks for the great reviews on these products.

Cool video, thanks for making this. Off topic, but I like the path from pump to chiller up to the conical in the chiller!

Josh Jensen Thanks! I got that idea partially from my friends at Pipe Dream Brewing. They have their fridges on moveable pallets. The fridge i use is on big metal casters as well so I can wheel it right up to my door. Still a work in progress I think.

I just got mine and can't wait to use it. I am a bit annoyed that it didn't come with the threaded to barbed fitting for the drain though.

+Shaun Newman Hi Shaun, are you talking about the quick disconnect that I have fitted to the mash tun in the video? I actually supplied that one so that I can use it with my system. 3 Piece ball valves typically don't come packaged with the hose barb to threaded fitting, but you can definitely order one from Ss or from another brew shop.

Hi. Excuse me, I had a question: I want to produce 70% alcohol for disinfection by combining sugar and baking yeast and distilled water. What should be the temperature of the fermentation liquid in the barrel during the fermentation stage? What should be the ambient temperature? I am a member of your channel and I watch your clips. Thank you very much and good luck.🙏🌹💙💜❤👍🙏

Oh, and at 3:03, my brain is screaming "Cut some big holes in that mash paddle!" LOL

Josh Jensen I've had that thing forever. i don't want to do anything to it until it officially breaks. I don't know it would survive another mash if it had holes in it haha.

Thanks for the video! When you pre heat, what temp do you use? And for how long do you pre heat? Having trouble calculating my mash and strike water temps. Also what thermal loss do you use to calculate?

I use a large SS wire whisk, purchased at a restaurant supply, when I mash in. I never have the dough balls as seen in this video. For what it's worth....

Bob Kauffman Good Idea. I don't usually have issues with dough balls and in this situation they were gone pretty quick. I'm thinking it's the milling level. The grain was pulverized, which always causes issues. I don't have the luxury of my own mill yet. I may do what Josh mentioned and drill a few holes in my paddle.

I've had my own mill for a long time. It's not something I'd want to try to do without, but I understand that very few of us can afford all the cool stuff we'd like to have. I'm currently lusting after the FTSS for my Brewtech conical. Someday soon.......

Did you find one? Didn't see it on their website. Don't know why they wouldn't include it.

    • @kristoforbarnes

+Syncopadence I just looked at the listing again and it doesn't include barb. It's not uncommon for a 3 piece to not have a hose barb. Blichmann 3 piece ball valves are similar. I think it's better to buy them separately because you may not want to have the hose barb, you may want to have the quick disconnect or cam & groove. Maybe they can add an option to the listing so you can opt-in or out while you are adding it to your cart.

Can it be placed on a heat source like a flame or induction?

No. Says on the site not to use over a heat source.

Hey BierKast, how much did it cost for all the components in your system you showed us. Can you put a price list in the description.
