    Doctor, i was very happy when i saw your name in this video and remember those anatomy sessions of 17 years ago at the medical college as i was one of your students. Thank you for the conventional and the digital teaching session.

    Thank you for this video! I do have a question and maybe I'm just confused, but I'm still not sure why is the transverse section is labeled right and left as in this video? Is it just referring to the image? Thank you!

    • @akram.jaffar
      @akram.jaffar  8 років тому +1

      Thank you for your interest in the channel. The section is oriented to conform with the appearance of structures in a CT or MRI sections. It is better to be oriented to these sections so that the structures can be easily identified on them in clinical practice. Please watch the first few minutes of this video for further explanation ua-cam.com/video/9ftD8nLLOw8/v-deo.html

    nice video, but doesnt the thoracic duct cross to the left at T4?

    • @akram.jaffar
      @akram.jaffar  8 років тому +1

      +biyi111 yes the thoracic duct is on the left side. However, the cross-section was sketched in order to match MRI sections. In such sections, they appear as if we are looking at the body from Below this was mentioned in the video @1:45 minutes. Thank you for your interest in the channel.

  • @anon511
    @anon511 4 роки тому +1

    for the horizontal view, is that looking at from the inferior or superior POV?
    bc if it's superiorly, shouldn't the right and left be switched?

    • @akram.jaffar
      @akram.jaffar  4 роки тому +3

      Good question! the horizontal sections are arranged as if looking at the body from below to give the same orientation of CT and MRI axial sections.

    AWESOME !!! Explanation but do the Phrenic nerve Continous just downward toward the diaphragm and thats it or do they form some kind of plexus along the way ? Thank You!!!

    • @akram.jaffar
      @akram.jaffar  8 років тому

      The plexuses like the cardiac, pulmonary, and esophageal are formed by sympathetic fibers from the sympathetic trunks and parasympathetic fibers from the vagus nerves; the phrenic nerve being somatic does not participate in these plexuses.
