My brothers and I quit riding back in 2008 after the housing market crash, sold most of our sleds. My Dad kept his 2003 Summit 800, and my Moms 1997 Summit 670. We got them out of storage in December last year, and had an absolute blast riding them all winter. Rode clear into April on good snow. Late spring we did some upgrades, the 670 went from a 136x1.5 to a 144x2, and the 03 from a 159x2 to a 163x2.5. Can't wait to get them out and ride again this year! Riding old is better than not riding at all!
I remember when i was younger, there was a video on sled necks. segment of Chris climbing findalin mountain if that's spelled right. Can't find any of the old sled necks videos anymore. This brings back that vibe. Keeping the old iron alive. The only thing missing is jed 🤘
brings back so many good memories. i can remember watching vhs tapes and flipping thru catalogs from polaris skidoo on the new models and dreaming about owning one as a teenager. def enjoy watching the old iron videos
best part of this is that it proves to the folks that cant afford a newer mountain sled is that you can put some cash into your old warrior and still get it done in the mountains.
This absolutely does not show that! Lol. It’s a funny video and the old sleds they have are super clean. They do great on harder snow and stuck when it gets a bit deep with very good riders on them.
That's all we can afford to ride... that was an awesome video.... u make more and I'll definitely watch them.... more interesting than the new stuff.....
I remember when these types of machines came out, it was mind blowing how deep snow you could ride in! Then evolution tok a giant leap in to what we have today 😂
I watched my uncle go ham on his old late 80's Indy trail and he said he almost liked it more than his 03 summit just because it was light and easy to handle just missed the suspension and track of the summit. Man its been a long long time since I've been on a sled because it was these style sleds I rode 🤣🤣
Seeing these old sleds is so entertaining, I find watching all the new sleds almost repetitive at times as they all look the same and do the same things on the mountain. Growing up racing these old sleds , motor setup, chassis setup ect made for either a successful day or not. I would definitely like to see a series for these old mods and go a little more in depth into the builds of them.
It's sad that my main sled is still a '97 700 rmk. I ride it out there with my buddies and do what Burandt did when his broke. "Hey, can i borrow that sled?" I think it's time to upgrade for myself finally.
I know this is just an event for yall but this is just how my dad and his buddy’s live. Riding 90s sleds and using gear that they keep longer than they should. Every season up Minnesota
Yes porting a ultra will give positive results! So will raising the port timing! Get E.G.T.'s and tune accordingly! Sparkplugs don't lie very often!...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸👋🤠
Got goosebumps watching this! 🤘
It took 30 years, but that is undoubtedly the best 90's sleddin video ever!

@@drifter5682 There's lots of greats out there we just wanted to pay tribute to them with this vid.

I love Tony's light wheight build at 13:56 Just awesome
That sled is awesome!
Where were all the rotax triples? I know of a few late 90s Mach tons around here that were heavily mountain modded that would keep right up.

I can’t decide why I watched this one - the hair, the outfits, or the sleds. All 3 are classics.
Crazy to think my dad rode with Chris awesome vid so gnarly 🤘
The old iron ride is my favorite video ever year 😂
Y’all are rowdy. I might need to pick up a throw down sled just for this ride 😂. I’ll save the Storm for the show and shine
Awesome Vid!
Thank you!
Awesome video, shows how good Chris is.. wow..
Thank you 😊
Awesome.
Need some kitties this year 🤘
Pretty cool seeing you and Tony (mad scientist) ride together
Epic!

That’s crazy cause I know the guy that actually built the sled at 16:06.
Did you show him this video? Was he heartbroken or okay!...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠

Bad ass old schools.

Chris got a question, just built a 97 680 ultra triple wondering if porting the cylinders help???
Yes porting a ultra will give positive results! So will raising the port timing! Get E.G.T.'s and tune accordingly! Sparkplugs don't lie very often!...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸👋🤠
um, FUN!
What is the date for the 2024 ride?
stay tuned.
15:21 🤣
Slednecks 2 in HD hahahah
Is no one gonna ask why the Fock he did that to the teal 700?
Yeah man for sure burandt is still better then most guy's riding a 20 to 30 year old sled against guy's riding the newer sleds. And where's Kyle P ?
Where’s Kyle
He was injured before this ride, he will be back better than ever.
Int the day per my last comment
