Try to focus on lifting weights with good form and control. Remember, these videos don’t substitute medical advice.

    Thanks Joe. Away from home, in meetings (dull) and we had a 30 min break. This just hit the spot. Back into those meetings now.

    I use the kettle bell occasionally. Loving animal flow, yoga, swimming, biking, etc.

    Thank you for doing work outs for us that need something different. Age 52 menopause. I did try some of your others on the app but was too hard for a person who just started doing excerise regularly. I can manage to watch you tube on TV. I do a lot of walking and I like zumba. Needed to add some weights.

    Done this just as a normal strength session and enjoyed it mostly, thank you. Please can you tell us the next exercise first and then talk, I’m having to rewind it after you say it and the time has already started! 😅

    A well coached and paced thorough workout with some comic relief derived from Joe's verbal expressions of exertion, eg "ooh, ouch, this is really hard, oww, that was horrible" etc 😆
    Perhaps he is going through menopause himself 😄

    Stacy Simms PHD would suggest that the weights need to be heavier and low reps - never more than 8. Weight heavy enough to eak out about 4-6 reps but light enough you feel you could do 2 more. High reps do not do what we want them to do in the menopausal body. Do about 4-5 sets.

    Happy Tuesday 😊! Day one is done I really enjoyed it. I'm 48 and looking forward to burning fat and getting toned, I do yoga regularly but I need some more, Is there going to be more videos to have a weekly routine, please? Thank you 😊

      I would repeat this 2 to 3 times weekly. Staying on the same strength training routine is more effective 😊

    As a fit menopausal woman, I cannot get up/down off the floor. I have had the first of 2 total knee replacements.

    Can someone pls tell me , by lifting these weights , would your arm size get larger or it only gets toned ( as I already have heavy arms - that looks bad😕)

    Into a niche. Women YOU ARE stronger than you think! Take up lifting as heaving as you can. No 1/2kg dumbbells. Hire a personal trainer if you are serious about sustaining health, vitality & strength into your yourself beyond peri/ menopause.

      Yes, please tell us. If I had to guess, I'd say he's using 5kg for "light" and 10kg for "heavy", but it would be nice to get some clarification

      Thank you for the amazing work you did then and probably still do., incredibly brave of you and the rest of the medical profession. Helping keep hundreds of thousands of people motivated and fit and sane counts as considerably more than a few star jumps though, many of us probably wouldn’t even be exercising if it wasn’t for Joe’s work and enthusiasm,and it’s brilliant he’s doing this for free for those of us who may not want or be able to attend a class.
