Love the Audi OEM selection. It’s got to be the polished 17in Competitions for me. A lot of people get them refurbished by powder coating them but original Diamond cut polished finish looks amazing. Love the videos great content. Thanks
Thanks for the kind works, yeah if my silver roadster had them on i would be very happy with them, i also think they suit green cars really well too, i may or may not have purchased a set to collect in a few weeks time haha
I’ve just bought an amazing tt very low miles, fsh, 2 owners, and I felt like I stole it first just £1350…. Also just realised it has the fat 5 competition wheels on it too 😂😂😂 I couldn’t be happier… I can’t wait to have it all mint and get the roof down next summer
@@TheParrottBros definitely.. it’s the 225 too so plenty of power for a bit of fun… I’m really enjoying binge watching your channel as it’s giving me so much information for this tt project… thanks a lot for all the info you provide
I had an Avus 225 TT with factory BBS RS2's. A really nice combination but those wheels were really prone to corrosion around the bolt holes that held the inners to the barrel. As far as I could tell from the factory the inners were a semi-gloss aluminium finish and the barrels a were smoother glossier "normal" silver. The centre locking nut was polished and had a real tendency to seize on and therefore get damaged when trying to remove them.
That is a really nice combo, thanks for the added information it's always appreciated 😎, great looking wheels just require refurbishments or not using during english winters haha
17inch Polished Competitions by far the best. Had them on my 2000 225 Coupe from new on H&R lowered springs. Hard to keep in good condition but looked the nuts
I have a QS and a widebody ABT... But I must admit the BBS ones shown here ( I think they're rs2's) are the best looking wheel and had the 2 cars I have be made to have those particular wheels fitted I'd choose the BBS all day!!
Ooo wow thats some collection and i thought i had a good one! it makes sense as both your cars are iconic with the factory wheels so would be mad to change them, the bbs rs2's are a beautiful wheel and they make the red v6 for me
@@TheParrottBros thank you :) I do very much like all your videos! My partner drives a TT too, hers is a 180 but we have put all the V6 bits on it and managed to get her some of the BBS wheels, I absolutely love them ! About 14 years ago I was 18 and had a mk1 S3 and I always always wanted a set for that car as at the time there was a tr going about with them on and I just became obsessed 😂
thanks buddy, there are some beautiful aftermarket wheels out there, its almost too hard to compare as everyones tastes are different, and the options are almost endless, factory wise i dont think they did a bad job of making decent looking wheels
A hard choice in the OEM wheels stakes for me, as I love the more common 9-spoke RS wheels and the BBS RS2's equally, though would have the RS2's in silver as darker colours hide their spoke/hub contours more (and if they're that lovely then show them off like the wheel bling they are!) QS wheels are really nice too, though I'm not a fan of Ronals (don't like the indents at the rims). IIRC another OEM option were 16" steel wheels but you never see them and they were probably only ordered with winter tyres. For my car it's BBS all the way - though CH's rather than RS2's. Can highly recommend getting a set of Wheel Woolies brushes for cleaning difficult multi-spoke wheels and rims - makes it much easier.
Yeah its tough as quite a few nice ones to choose from, thats why i love the car scene and their owners as everyone likes something slightly different. all silver does look great same as when they have the avus centres, i have a set of 3 wheel woolies, had them a few years great for cleaning the barrels :)
Yeah, love my BBS's,got a silver outer band, gold for the rest and red centre cap,got a Misano red 3.2. The Ronal's are dark anthracite with copper metallic flecks through them. Yeah the fat 5's I've got my eye on are light anthracite, would love it if they were the high gloss silver metallic polished.
For me it's definitely got to be the Audi 9 spokes or the fat fives/comps mind you I really do like the a8/s8 but I don't know if they will fit as they are 19in might do them in a 18in but not sure
Genuine wheels are so hard to choose from as so many good options haha, the 9 spokes are a true classic look for the tt and easy to clean so no arguments there, 19's will fit

Hi Dom, people's options on alloys are interesting , aren't they! My 3.2 is Avus Silver and it came from the factory with the same muti spoke split rims as on your 3.2, I liked the design and always thought they suit the shape of the tt , the issue I had with them was 'lacquer peel ' and obviously with that you get oxidisation, so they didn't look good....I shopped around for refurbish quotes and the cheapest was £200. per wheel because there split rims. I looked around and saw these Dynamics Imola multi spokes , same design pattern but actually look bigger because the spokes are a little longer, so I bought a set ,and they look stunning! The originals I sold for £260. I think these look better being honest , people always seem to look at it when it's out . So personal choice I guess .
Thats the biggest issue i have with the 2 piece wheels is the inevitable refurbishment requirements so i cant blame you as they could have been re done then in a few years be in the same position again, feel free to send me some pics of yours on the new wheels always like to see what people do to their tt's
