    Just do 50yard suicides on football field full speed, go from 5 yards back,10yards back,15yards back, etc all the way to 50yd line full effort and time yourself.Say you get 3:00minutes the first time, thats the time you have to hit for the remaining two workouts that week(3 times a week).The next week try and get them done in 2 minutes and 50seconds, aim to improve that number each week and punish yourself with an extra set if you fail to make the time.Only attempt 2-3 sets total 3 times a week on non consecutive days (mon,wed,fri) light light light jog on off days, suicides are very taxing and the yardage adds up quick your essentially doing well over 200 yards each set, more is not better here unless you like getting hurt. These will crush you physically and mentally but the Pare will be a breeze. if you think you can run a little more just add a hill sprint day on Saturdays, cardio will be a non issue.
    Prepare harder than what you will encounter

    1st - this was my first run, I did not know what test will feel nor be like.
    2nd - I just scheduled my exam 2 days prior, so I barely had enough time.
    3rd - I rarely do any cardio for my training, which was a big regret.
    I know I should have no excuses when it comes to easy stuff like this and I will make sure I'll smoke my next PARE, keep posted :)

    GJ on your 1st PARE. I ran my first one in 3:12. Some tips to share that I noticed with your run: (1) You jump too high going over the hurdles, waste of energy. (2) Your controlled falls after the vault were too fancy, looked like some gymnastics crap. Keep it simple, conserve energy. Other than that good run. I'm sure you will do better on your next one. Maybe you already did, this post is old.

    For your first time running, and no experience with the test, a 3:40 is a good time. Not sure if you ran it again since, but I imagine with proper cardio training, and cleaning up some technical aspects, you can get under 3:20. Hell, you could probably get under 3:10.

    Damn bro good try, I would of probably been like you tired after that 7 lap course run when it came to push and pull.. Right now I'm training in the gym and doing cardio. I went to a recruiting session and they said they are hiring for big number for next year, and need spots filled. As much as I want to apply right now, I'm not ready physically... Im training for the next 6 months.

    Who are the jerks in the background laughing? The push-pull machine is strange thing to operate that takes some getting used to. That one is the easier machine. There is also the one that uses cables and is less stable and very unforgiving. It has a pad that the chest rests against. Very painful if you're a woman with a larger chest.

    If you drop the weight don't you gotta do it over again? or you fail? That dude gave a lot of leeway. Pace the course, do not sprint it.

      Thomas Jefferson I thought it was 4 minutes flat for a pass

    • @lrseixas
      @lrseixas 5 років тому

      @@thegatesofsleep When you first do the PARE in Regina, you're allowed 5:30 minutes, twice. If you fail the second time, they send you home with a "thanks for your time" taped to your back. By the end of the 6 month training, you need to be able to do 4 minutes flat at least.

      When you learn to speak like an adult and get your ass in shaped then maybe you can criticize someone for doing one of the hardest requirements in law enforcement.
