Saw Alice in concert 72 and 73. Unforgettable. Head chopping, dead babies, tooth brush chasing teeth around, snake charming. We just called him a freak but we loved him.

+paladin hgwt Yeah, same time period for me. The Specdtrum in Philly. He electrocuted himself in an electric chair at the end, and of course came back for an encore. Always did that kind of stuff. Just his stage schtick. Good entertainer. In real life he is just a normal guy who is an avid golfer and just hangs out with "normal" celebs and whoever. I mean he is rich, so he just runs in those circles. Izod like shirts the whole golfing thing. Except for the long hair, just an average looking golfer. Doesn't act freaky or any of that shit. Just his stage personna, and it got over big time. I had a good time, I think.

It was 1996 & I was going to Harley-Davidson repair school @ MMI in Phoenix. One Friday night I was in a blues club that was so packed I doubt a person would fall down even if they died. Standing at the bar drinking what was advertised as "the coldest beer in Phoenix," I was talking to some guy who looked familiar, & finally said to him, "are you Alice Cooper?" to which he replied, "yes I am" (or some affirmative answer anyway). At the time I did not know he was from Phoenix and that he lived in the house on the bluff overlooking the school I was attending. I seem to remember we had an interesting conversation, but also remember it was a beer drinking event and listening to good blues music.

The theatrics are amazing! BTW:I know that all of this is staged, but that nurse kicking Alice... hmm...I'll bet she wished she'd of never turned her back on him! That made his character madder than a whole nest of wet hornets! He sure took care of that little problem, didn't he?!?!?

"Other performers got up on stage and think 'I hope they like me'. I get up on stage and think 'they better like me, or else'". This was why Alice Cooper's shows were so creative and entertaining. He gave zero shites about what the audience would think

I always adored Alice (Vincent) and my teenage years included discovering Schools Out album and realising what a fabulous creative person he is and what a fabulous bunch of musicians he had working with him - underestimated I guess because of his persona - he is a true musician and story teller -the songs that made the public airwaves often got in the way of people discovering the true gems hidden in his body of work.

He's been gone for so long
Do you think he'll ever come home?"
I was gone for fourteen days
I could've been gone for more
Held up in the intensive care ward
    Lyin' on the floor
I was gone for all those days
But I was not all alone
I made friends with a lot of people
    In the danger zone
    See my lonely life unfold
    I see it every day
    See my only mind explode
    Since I've gone away
I think I lost some weight there
And I, I'm sure I need some rest
    Sleeping don't come very easy
    In a straight white vest
Sure like to see that little children
She's only four years old, old
I'd give her back all of her play things
Even, even the ones I stole
    See my lonely life unfold

I saw AC in 73 when I was high school. I wasn't really a fan, I just went with some friends. I became fan because of seeing his show. There was nothing like it anywhere or for that matter "anywhen". As fun as these shows are , the music is why he has lasted. These years (early 70s) were the time when Alice was the freak that was chic. All the kids were fascinated because he wrote songs just for us. Schools Out is the definitive defiant rock anthem.

Alice Cooper's music has always stood on its own for me. The theatrics of the show are a bonus.
It's like watching a movie with the best soundtrack ever.

A true master. Alice was my very first live concert, as a kid of 16. Seen many concerts since then, stones, who, rush, black sabbath, if it was live in the 70's through the 80's and rock and roll I was there, the great forum, in los Angeles. Still chasing that high I got from welcome to my nightmare.

"I was gone for 14 days, I might have been gone for more, held up in intensive care ward, I'm layin' on the floor, I was gone for all those days but I was not all alone, I made friends with alot of people in the danger zone. See my lonely life unfold, I see it everyday, see me lonely mind explode when I've gone insane" Alice Cooper. Love Alice. Fitting for this bat virus we are all goin' thru. I have it. It's no fun. I am gettin' better tho been 4 weeks now. Just stay safe and don't try to get out to early, this is no joke. For those of you who have it and those of you who survived it you may know what I am talkin' about. All levels of this sickness my friends. Be careful and stay home. Please. Ya never know it's next victim. Love to all you out there.

I always enjoyed seeing him in a straight jacket and how he gets out of it in strength. The best part is when he strangles the nurse with revenge. I like the way he keeps our attention. I believe, that he is the only one who has done this kind of act on stage.
