I just list 1/2 the vision in my left eye to a sarcoma tumor that grew quickly on the back of the eye globe. I am having a hell of a time adjusting to my new world. This just happened to pop up. What an inspiration for my “new life”. Thank you
i was a commercial guide for 12 seasons all over the west. i have worked in the grand canyon as a guide. i am also a Kayaker. I have been running rivers for 35 years now. this is one of the best river stories / videos i have ever herd.
Gary this has to be the best compliment. In the past, I was a river guide on the Middle Fork of the Salmon and kayaked myself for fun. As a veteran I was asked to make this film and it was a true passion project as 4 areas (river guiding, kayaking, veteran, filmmaking) of my life converged into the telling of this story. So hearing that from a fellow river person means so much, and you get it.
Thank you! As a filmmaker this was a true passion project and an end of a chapter of life for me so I'm glad you see the love poured into it. The guys in the film truly are special and made this film something else. They inspire me daily.
I paddle with TRR New England. This film is absolutely incredible! What an inspiration! I feel so honored to be part of this community! You guys are amazing! Bravo! God Bless You all!
Lonnie Bedwell, Russell Davies, and Aaron Howell really gave us something special in this film. We set out to inspire and encourage people and so glad you connected with the story and got something out of it!
Me too! Though Lonnie is a highly skilled kayaker , he always pointed to other people and praised his guides for their skills and helping give him that opportunity to kayak whitewater.
Thanks for sharing! Kayaking is a great fit for those who served and now are looking for that community again. On the river you're with your brothers and you watch out for each other. Always know where everyone is at. It's a comfort to find a team and better yet to play on a river together!
How does this only have only 1000 views after being live for 4 days? Fantastic story, fantastic cinematography. I am such a junkie for this kind of adventure filmmaking. Amazing job!
Thank you Bruce! Of course I'd love everyone to see this film! Filming in Grand Canyon was the biggest adventure. We charged our batteries with the sun and had to prepare ahead to get the rapid shots. I had a great J-Rig guide driving the boat I was on allowing me position to film and had a strong second camera in a kayak following the action. Also used a lot of GoPros on the guys boats to tell the story. Scrappy environment to make a film but so fun.
