Great video Jeff nice and peaceful aura relaxing feeling be a pleasure aboard positive vibes enjoying the outdoors... Fish are a bonus!! In your opinion whens to late in season to catch em long lining ... Just like trolling motor and lowrance installed then gone fisfn ... I was watching video on the way you soldered wires (cool) struggling with big ol transducer ti-9 side scan. I will look through your videos first season back been 3 years since striper fishing live on lake just below harbor town practice on em crappie. You can make a fellow ready to go. Thanks Enjoyed
Them crappie are on the brush big time now, i marked some good brush today loaded with crappie while I was catfishing.I might go crappie fishing soon myself. good video
I seen the same yesterday. I just wanted to do a video on long lining. But Im ready to do some vertical jigging soon. Thanks for watching. I appreciate a Crappie pro like you taking the time. No joke intended.
I use 6-8lb line. As for jig heads I vary the weight. I use 1/16-1/4 ounce Depending on depth and speed. I usually put out several different to dial in the pattern.
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. I have a minnkota 12v. I-pilot. It’s a 55lb thrust. It works but it’s a little under powered for my 21’ deep v in wind. I’m planning on upgrading this spring to a 24volt 80lb.
Thanks for the quick response! Im trying to setup the edgewater 175cc im restoring and am thinking the 12 volt 55 pound should be fine. Sharon harris and jordan lake should be the lakes I'll be fishing.
It’s a trial and error most times. Different size and weight jigs pull deeper. I usually try to put out about 50 ‘ on my center rods and get shorter with each pair. I always run some straight down with heavier jigs on the sides. Thanks for watching and the sub. I appreciate it
I appreciate you watching and commenting. They tried that on Our lakes. It destroyed the crappie fishing. We would have a 200 fish day and not have a limit of keepers.they lifted the limit and the size restrictions we now have 2lb crappie again and a 4lb last month. I personally keep all the suicide fish and throw back big fish. I prefer to eat the 8-10” and turn the rest loose.
Yea jigging works good here as well. But you catch a lot of little males around cover. I seem to catch bigger females scattered across the flats and middle of creeks. It does work great in the spring as well for bigger females. Good luck.
now that u said it, i do catch a lot of small males. But how can that be? Surely males are not there drinking at a bar, hanging only with other males, you know what i mean?
Good video...looked like a fun afternoon

Great video Jeff, im like you I love long lining for crappie , I just put new line on my crappie reels this past weekend. Cant wait to go
Yea it’s a blast. I like fishing brush but it seems like I catch quality females out on flats. Don’t have to mess with the little males all day.
@@bowl830 , thats the way yall real Crappie guys fish, I just don't have the touch for it.
Great video Jeff! Around here people look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I'm pulling jigs for crappie! Lol

What size fishing line were you using and jig head?

Wondering what trolling motor setup you have?
And what voltage battery wise?

RC & A MOONPIE that’s awesome. That boat I use is a 1975 21’ starcraft I restored. I love old boats. Good luck!

What rods do you use for lone line
I have the older ugly stick poles. They don’t even make them anymore. I like staggered lengths from 7-10’
@@bowl830 what rods would you buy now for lone lining .
very informative
Thank you brother. I appreciate you watching and commenting
@@bowl830 central North Carolina here, I have been longlining a few times before but have picked up a few more hints, and going to try it tomorrow,,,
What lake was you fishin
Lake Wylie N.C./Sc
I suggest watching "Richard Gene The Fishing Machine". You will most likely subscribe to his channel. I did a long time ago.
flathead candy
You should try using Prowler Planers to spread your baits out and cover a much wider path. Watch some videos at www.ProwlerPlaners.com
seems to me that your fishing pleasure would increase if the state laws only allow ceappie 10 inches and larger...let the little ones grow...

Gota try this method in the summer, when they move deep. Right now they are shallow where i live and jigging for them is best
