Thank you for the detailed review! What do you think of the back panel? It doesn't look like it offers good breathability, so I wonder how it'd perform in hot weather
Thank you for the nice note! The back panel is nicely padded and has a good amount of ridges to provide breathability. I used it hiking several times and in temps in the 90s at outdoor events. I think it was about as comfortable and breathable as a pack can get. Maybe not as good as a trampoline like system you might see on some lighter weight Osprey packs. But very good overall.
@@Engearment thank you for the answer! This is great. Of course it's hard to compete with a dedicated trampoline system but these also come with their own cons. But this gives me a good reference of how this backpack performs.
Great review as usual. I have some questions. There’s supposed to be a metal frame for structural support in the 45L backpack. How so you think about it? Also I have seen another reviewer put a medium + large camera cube in there (without gears) can you showcase the combo fully loaded? Also is it possible to load up the bag beyond 35 pounds ? I often get between to 15-22kg of gears fully loaded. Would love your take on the fit and comfort. What load is comfortable and what’s the limit in your opinion. Is this bag Airline approved to be carry-on cabin?
Hi, Thank you for the review. I have question about the back. How good is the air venting, coz I'm afraid that I would sweat a lot with this backpack during a summer
Me too. I’m a heavy sweater especially on the back, and the reason I mostly don’t carry my Everyday Backpack 20L or 30L with me, and instead daily carry Totepack on my bike while biking to office and a big Manfrotto case with wheels when going to shoot (almost always indoors). I was thinking of selling my Everyday Backpacks as I don’t really use them (I do use Duffel 35L and 60L quite a bit on weekends with car and work trips) and my Everyday Messenger not used at all for years, and try out this Outdoor Backback. But I guess it’s not easy on heavy back sweater as it’s not one of those mesh back panels, right?
Peak Design are really onto something if they can make a lighter bag, camera equipment is already so heavy, it's welcomed! With places to put the capture clip, it seems to have all the features!
They are really onto some great things with this launch. I will try and do the sling up next. The reinforcement for the capture clip or other camera clips is really well done. Glad you are stoked in this too. Take care!
Thanks for the follow-up, part 2 review for this backpack. How does this backpack compare to the WANDRD Fernweh backpack that you reviewed a few years ago?
Thanks! The Fernweh is a more robust pack with heavier materials. I think of it more like expedition and overnight and fits more gear. It is heavier as well. but a great pack
Just discovered your channel and I love it! Funny thing is, I saw a girl on the subway last week wearing a New York Demerier midi and I totally fell in love with her. I want to buy luxrul .This will be my little birthday present. Thanks for your channel.
can you put a small camera cube in the roll top orientated vertically and access camera gear from the top along with a large camera cube in the bottom?
Would definitely love to see a review of the 7L sling. It seems like it only fits the xsmall cube, which means that my Sony a7iii + my go-to 24-105 lens (probably won't?) fit w a cube protection around it. Thanks for your reviews from those of us who can't make it to the flagship stores to test and rely on the interwebs :)
Hey! Thanks for the nice note. I will get going on that 7L this weekend. Happy to help everyone out. I have an xsmall and use it for an FX30 and lens and Rode mics. Works well, but probably would not fit your nice full frame set up. I will try though, and see what else we can get in there. Stay tuned!
Awesome, thanks! If you happened to have the small cube (probably v2), I’d be curious if that would fit. Volume-wise, 5L into 7L *seems like it should, but maybe the angles are off. Thanks, appreciate your time and insight!
For those wondering about the luggage passthrough -- on the comments section of the PD kickstarter it says that you can use the cord loops included to do a DIY luggage passthrough ! @engearment -- any chance you can give the dimensions of the 45L backpack? I would like to find out and check airline carry on requirements. When/if you get a chance -- thank you so much!
@@jonchimpo on the kickstarter page, there was a comment that said you can use the cords that come with the backpack to do a DIY luggage pass through as it has the daisy chain on the sides where the water bottle pockets are.
If water gets in the kangaroo pouch will it just collect there or is there a drain hole?

Great Review. Could you give some advise and tips on how to latch or put a gimbal (RS4 eg) when using this bag? That would be cool!
That is a great angle! I will try and shoot another video this week to incorporate this question

the dimensions are in the KS in the comments section, PD has answered the question there a few times so you should be able to see it.

Worst bag they’ve made. Very disappointed.
You have one?
