You cannot get a more loyal family protector than a German Shepherd. That's their whole build and he is doing a good job of taking care of a little brother absolutely adorable
At 5 years old my best friend was the family dog. He was a Collie. That dog was a great protector which didn't let anyone near me. It was the 1970's and i remember him by my side all the time. I miss my friend.
Growing close to animals develops empathy. Samuel shines.🙂Thank you to Samuel's mom and dad for having Rex and the other cute doggie as family members. Samuel and Rex are both so adorable. 😊❤ And the last part of the video... 😅😅
Surtout quand c'est dans une meute de loups que tu grandis ça t'apprend l'humilité et ça t'apprend à ne péter plus haut que tu n'as le c*l 😊 (dicton français)
I'm strictly a shepherd guy. Lost my last Soldier Girl, some years ago. These videos are both painful and inspiring. I think it's time for me to move forward and get me another great friend.😢😊😊
I would love another, but at my age I think it would be too much to cope with. Around here, it's next to impossible to find anyone who's willing to walk a GSD for you if you're too sick to do it on occasion. Labradors rule.
OMG! So adorable! Such an ever-loving bond between man and dog. We love them and they love us. How loyal, protective and affectionate they can all be when it comes to having a friend for life. So true, they cheer you up when you feel blue. Just so…. Beautiful🥹🥹🥹🥹
@@vagirl19 And do you think my comment is solely based on the contents of this video? When you begin to understand what some ‘parents’ do with their dogs and babies, come back for a discussion..
I had a white gsd, she was perfect, loving, intelligent, so evidently more empathic than any other dog in the family. I know how incredible GSDs are, everyone soon or later would notice the difference. Yet, even if I trusted her so much, if we had great communication and she was very responsive, I also agree with the comment here. No owner should ever leave a dog alone with a baby, it's simply an unacceptable risk even if the percentage is like 0.1%. There are things you can risk and things you cannot whatever the chance. It's also true that this video is not showing that situation, so it's slightly off-topic, but not by much.
You can just see Rex saying, “Oh, boy! I get a hooman of my very own! Thank you, Mom and Dad.” I had a dog do that with me. Butch was my shadow when I was tiny and we had SO many adventures according o my folks.
Rex is a companion, a protector, and the world's best baby cleaner. Sticky hands - no problem. Messy face - taken care of. Food dropped to the floor - if it actually hits the floor its soon gone and the floor cleaned for good measure. When our last pupster left us for doggy heaven it took forever to remember that you actually have to clean up food you spill on the floor.
Shepherds are wonderful with children, but children shouldn't push their luck, pull their fur, poke their eyes and mouth. The most gentle dog can run out of patience.
Like I said I have a friend who is a fantastic dog she is called Lottie when I get picked up to go to my lady’s house she is there by my side she has a cute way of saying hello sh has a soft toy in her mouth and she chuffed at me and she talking to me and when I am not well she is on the bed and she stays with me but she has a protective loud bark when someone or something comes to the house she is very sharp and lets me or my lady know from human friend of dog!
Did you notice when Samuel was pulling on Rex's lip and he didn't react at all, or when Samuel's dad gave him a little slap and Rex immediately became protective? The biggest danger in the whole video was for dad, not that Rex would have done anything other than to warn him to lay off or else. Not all dogs get irritated with children and I know that a GSD can ignore anything a child does and if really pushed will just walk away and sulk. I have a metal front fence and a metal gate that squeaks when someone opens it and my GSD will run to the side of the house and look through the metal gate there and if she sees an adult she doesn't know in the front yard she'll give the distinct impression that she wants to kill them. And she probably would if she could get through that gate. If it's one of the neighbourhood kids she'll howl with delight and lean up against the side gate so the kids can give her some rubs.
@@DanDownunda8888 I see the more realistic, sad site maybe. A 7 years old, loosing his best companion, needs strong parenting and love, to process this loss. That was my point. No offence.
@@DanDownunda8888 The GSD we adopted looked just like Rex, same condition, no grey fur. They said he was 7. When he was ill and had to be PTS 3 years later, our vet said he was probably about 12, so must have been 9 when he came to us.
@@DanDownunda8888 Ours was a retired police dog due to weak hips. They didn't cause him a problem until his last weeks but obviously impacted his work. The one we had before went very grey at about 9 yrs old. I'd clone them both if it were possible!
DO NOT LET DANIEL GET ON THE DOGS BACK, NORE PULL HIS HAIR!!!!! HE'S TOO YOUNG, YOU NEED TO TEACH HIM THAT IS WRONG. IF THE DOG EVER BITES THE BOY, IT WILL BE YOUR FAULT. This is not a sweet video; this is not what you should let your child do to the family dog.
What stupid parents to let a small child climb on such a large dog. If a child steps on the dogs foot the dog will bite. Ask any parent that lost a child because the dog they thought was so gentle dog. Dogs can snap at any time and she the child or viciously attack and kill a child. Grow up parents
bro wth are you talking about, my god just shut the h up jeez , they're literally bonding eachother, that's literally love. So stop yapping with that misinformation mister! 🤡

GS dogs are always on guard. You two got very lucky adopting Rex but he knew exactly what to do.
GSD's rule. Rex is an angel.
German shepherds are great dogs. They are very loyal full of love and intelligent.

That’s why dogs are the best 🐶❤️
What a beautiful video - child and dog relationship ❤️

DANG! Samuel is Gorgeous and Rex is a very handsome specimen 😊 What great security baby has!
I really like the story of bad and dog, bless, bless ❤
No matter how docile, gentle and longevity of a dog in my family , I’d never leave my baby alone with it, EVER.
You think the video clips were recorded by a floating self operated camera? One of his parents is operating the camera. He’s not alone with the dog.

Rex was like "Hey, we cool and all, but you can't be popping my baby in the butt. Don't make me eat that hand..." LOL 😄
Brings back childhood memories even though I was too young to remember.
Boy my GSD had some patience with me😂
That's a GSD for you.
How beautiful!!
Such bud's
Good boy, Rex!! You deserve treats.
Very loyal but any dog raised right will protect the child with their life love it 👍🍺
The way Rex smoothly relieves Samuel of his pizza…😂
Samuel
Baby daddy!❤
GSD are the best
We grew up with German Shepherd & he lived 18.yrs. He died right after our dad died. Think he died of a broken 💔.
Cherish every day ❤️
There is a reason why they are called Man's Best Friend.
Super cool Rex❤
Steal his pizza 😂
Rex ❤❤
Best friends ♥️♥️♥️♥️
there is still good in this world
A cat could never.
DOGS DOGS SO LOVELY
It is not rare to see a dog so patient…what planet are u from?
My 2 grandchildren grew up with Labs. Amazing to see their loyalty and affection for children. Taught me a lot about dogs.
Krásné❤❤❤
There's no coincidence that dog is GOD spelled backwards
Oh I didn't know God is a native English speaker... Are you a child? I can never tell with religious comments

Rex did not want dad striking samuel

Ok but never let a dog alone with a baby or young kid , especially huskies and races , protections( staff, pitbull etc).

3:01 I wish people would stop doing this.. This must be the most confusing thing in the world for a dog
