I personally really like what Retropower has done in the last few years. Especially their project Utah, their Alfa Romeo GT junior, the couple of W111's and that sweet Stratos with the Busso. Well worth a look in my opinion.
I love anything Porsche. I love anything Corvette. Most see the Porsche, and hear the Corvette. Gawd I love the different ways these two go at it.......restomod away.
I’d actually be interested in the Alfa and the Lancia. I’m a sucker for older models of those brands and considering how gorgeous their restomods are nowadays if money was no object I’m in lol
The big plus with restomods over modern supercars is that you can have companies like Alfaholics or Singer fit/supply some of their bolt on parts they've developed (like suspension packages) on a more affordable base car Alfa or 911, without the massive expensive or long wait time.
would be hard to pick from this list but if I had to choose it would be between the singer and the Alfa GTA with the singer winning out ....but that last one the Lancia soooo cool !!!!!
The FIAT X19 is 'the' original and most exotic one here and the one that deserves THE FULL restomod treatment... it was designed by none other than Marcello Gandini himself (designer of the Lamborghini Miura / Countach / Lancia Stratos Zero etc.) and it entered production in 1972 (50 years ago!!!) and has had numerous imitators afterward - (1975) Triumph TR7, (1982) Nissan Pulsar NX/EXA, (1984) Pontiac Fiero, (1984) Toyota MR2, (1987) Honda Prelude... In my opinion, if the emphasis went on lightening the car (with carbon fibre?) and modifying the original engine, 150 horsepower and 800 kg weight would transform the car into a genuinely fun toy that would make even the fussiest guy smile like a 5 year old.
The Delorean would be my second choice, but the packaging was flawed from the drawing board. The person who decided the engine needed to be mounted BEHIND the rear axle when it only had seating for two should have been shot! Having said that, a reengineered chassis with new subframe so as to allow a proper north-south mid-mounted engine would make the car handle the way it should have handled from day one - and a great engine to consider would be the AUDI 4.2L V8 as they are incredibly short and might allow a respectable front-to-rear weight distribution if mounted just behind the seats.
Can’t believe nobody has done a Bmw e 46 Possibly the most loved car ever, and the csl fetch crazy prices Also one of the most worked on cars ever If someone makes better performing parts that are lighter, they will sell so many kits
I love the MG B GT so the Frontline restomod on the MG B roadster does it for me. I can't afford that but I do have an MG B GT V8 with 5 speed Mazda box. Holley carb, pancake filter, Frontline rear suspension. Love it my own pocket rocket.
U Left out the Jensen Interceptor restomod, the & MGB by Speedwell. I'd like the following cars to be restomoded: Rover p6, the Triumph Stag & TR5, the Zagato Bristols of the 70's, the Sunbeam Stiletto, the Rover experimental jet turbine racing car of the 60's, the latest Bentley coupes V8 & 12's, Lotus 130s 5, the Classic two door Range Rover and on and on ..
Just a tip on pronounciation. I'm Italian and every time I hear how you (and most of English-speaking car enthusiasts) say "Lancia", my heart skips a beat. The correct pronounciation is more similar to as if it was written "lancha". Btw, great video and great cars, I'd love to have some of them 😏.
@@Lavi-Aemilia-Astori Both Americans and Italians pronounce it 'incorrectly', or should I say, they localise it - which is my point. No matter how many petty people complain about the English pronunciation of Lancia, it's no different than hearing an Italian pronounce an English name in their own accent.
@@Ruylopez778 As an Italian I could not care less about the pronoucation, I mean I would be delighted to hear the correct way once in a while, however, I believe that the story and the legacy is much more important than how it is said. I agree with you.
How tiresome that the old “Italian unreliability” trope was wheeled out once again by an ignorant journalist. If you think British French Swedish American and yes ….. even German cars of the sixties and seventies were paragons of reliability you obviously weren’t there .
Of all the corvettes, the 82 is the most beauriful in my mind. Unfortunately because it was the early 80s, like most cars, performance didn't match the beauty. Id love to restomod my 82 corvette. People are always stopping me to talk about it and complement how it looks.
@@jareknowak8712 id love to but I'd have to do the suspension, drive train, brakes etc to handle the HP increase. It came with about 190 from factory, and id be at least doubling that :)
When it's done ( which will be at the end of the century) if Project Binky is not on one of these lists, I'm sure to write a strongly worded letter. And I do not care if you read it.
Great video! So much thoughtful design and intense workmanship among these builders. But let’s be honest, Singer is the only one among all of these builders that disrespects the DNA of the car they started with. In favor of their fantasy Porsche, with Rolls Royce interior, Singer cannibalizes and obliterates every 911-964 they start with. I’ve been inside and underneath a Singer. Their engineering and workmanship are admirable and flawless. But that doesn’t erase their fundamental conceptual flaw of poaching substantial numbers of true Porsches in order to create an exquisite and exclusive car that Porsche did not and would not have made.
What kind of video for car enthusiasts doesnt have a single clip of what these cars sound like? 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ Just this knob chattering nonsense instead.
I love the GTA, but the version Alfaholocs created in the video, just looks like a bloated fish that washed up on the banks. Why ruin such gorgeous proportions? The only one on the list I'm not a fan of. Luckily they make the normal version.
Looks to me the same design as a GTA Corsa, or GTAm built by Autodelta from 69-71. I think they went to great expense to restore an original car by tracking down the expensive alloy Autodelta used, based on an original car. I think they will do whatever spec the customer asks. Not trying to argue with you, but you seem to have a wrong impression of the company, and don't know what a GTAm or Corsa is, if you think Alfaholics 'ruin' Alfas. I think most of these cars change the base car appearance more than Alfaholics does.
@RuyLopezQB6 I didn't say Alfaholics ruins the cars. I think the do an awesome job. I just don't like the bloated shape of the one in the video. Regardless if it is done by alfaholics or not. I know it was a purpose built race car. I'm just referring to its bloated design and my disinterest in it.
Would your restomod be a '60s classic or more modern fare?
Mine would be a Karmann Ghia, probably with a modern Porsche engine.
What about the new MK1/2 escorts?
For some reason I think a countach would be cool, at least make it more practical
BMW 8 Series with the V12 that ended up in the F1.
MORE like this, please!!
I agree!
I can totally imagine that years from now we will have the like of Integra Type R, EVOs, WRXs and GR Yarises on list like this.
Sadly I think the route those will take is electrification.... And that's just blasphemy
I don't want it. They will be all electric
Can I just say that those cars electrified would be hella sick!
At least for me :P
You where 100% right someone has made a restomod s200 with a modern civic r turbo engine
Restomods hold a special place in my heart.
Classic looks + modern tech= a delicious automotive recipe.
I knew somebody out there would make a restomod of the E30 M3. The cult of that vehicle demands such a thing.
I personally really like what Retropower has done in the last few years. Especially their project Utah, their Alfa Romeo GT junior, the couple of W111's and that sweet Stratos with the Busso. Well worth a look in my opinion.

I´m still waiting for a simulation of this kind of classic racing. PLEASE!
Amazing cars
Didn't expect to see an E30 M3 on the list!
Only one I can think of is the GTO Engineering 250 SWB, otherwise spot on and drooling!!!

Golf GTI mk 3 with an MK7 interior and engine🔥
more of these plz :)

The Outlaw please...😊👍
STRATOS!!!
More and more quality reimagined cars coming all the time
Suggest to add the beautiful Citroen SM2a by Jean Michel Gallet
Would have been nice to see a MZR Datsun
I think the EVO37 should also be on the list.....
74 Opel Manta would be nice
Evo,mr2 would be cool restomod
Nothing like a chopped, channeled and dropped Lancia.
:-)
Restomod a W124!
I'll take one of EACH please!
I believe there is a company modding the Porsche 356 based on the Boxster, and a Gullwing based on an SLK
Jensen CV8 for the restomod treatment. That would be stunning..
Lamborghini Miura SV deserves to be restomoded with the Murciélago SV Powertrain.
I’ve been saying that for years ❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌

Would love to see the Mk2 Jag get the restomod treatment
Nice, but the MG LE50 is missing. 😛
exquisite taste
I'd like a 935 to get the K3 tretment
How about the Frontline MG B Abingdon version or the latest one with a 4.1 L V8 and a Tremec T6 speed gearbox?
Perhaps some fast Fords? A mk2 RS2000 an RS TURBO MK3 an RS500 Cosworth?

Factory Five Cobras???
Surely and sorely missed MZR of UK and Datsun 240Z resto mod company like Singer.
Can a millionaire please restomod an MG Metro Turbo please 🙏 😁👌
The roof chop spoils the Aurelia IMO. Lines are just perfect without it.
