Excellent recipe. I did something different. I had some Italian sausage in the freeze and used it instead of hamburger. It came out so different, but very good. It's best with yellow mustard. Wasn't as good with brown of Dejon mustards. I love recipes that get to the point and this one doesn't waste my time. Thanks for such a fine recipe.
first time on your channel i love it you toke time to print out ingredients it help me so my memory is leaving and this help me out in the store thank you
I was only mildly interested until I saw the coleslaw with the chili. Now I seriously need to make this RIGHT NOW!!! My mouth is literally watering. THANK YOU.
You'll get a much finer-grained sauce if you add 2 cups of water per lb of meat, add all your spices/seasonings then mix it all up until it resembles the pink slime that got people so upset at McDonald's a few years ago. Bring to a boil, lower to a simmer until you get the texture you want. It's the way that a local hot dog chain has been doing it for 99 years. If you try it one time, you'll never do it any other way. More info: Many of these early hot dog joint were very small with tiny kitchens. They didn't have room for big bags of onions that take up too much space and attract bugs. Try using dehydrated onion like they did. It'll give your sauce that "old school" flavor.
Girl you know how to cook! I subscribed.👍👍👍. Man that coleslaw really looks good. You know I like coleslaw on hamburgers too. You know you don't even need the weiner because that chili looks good by itself. I love chili dogs too. Thanks😃
That's a good looking hot dog chili, no tomato sauce. I've cooked many different kind of chilis and I've learned not to use tomato sauce in any of them. I'm making this one now for a grandson's birthday party tomorrow. Tip: always make the chili the day before, put it in the fridge overnight. When you heat it back up it will taste twice as good. Same goes with most soups and stews.
I’ve been trying to find a chili recipe since I haven’t made it in years. I’ve looked at plenty of videos and they always make chili cheese dogs. Well being from NC I was looking for coleslaw and chili and Lord did you deliver!! That slaw looks bomb!
Chili cheese dogs are good, but I'm in NC as well, and coleslaw is my favorite combination on hot dogs with chili! Mouth watering! Too bad I'm not very successful with making my own slaw. My Indiana grandma's was out of this world! She was a farm woman all her life and boy could she can and cook (remember seeing her jars of sauerkraut fermenting on her canning table as a child). Miss her so much!

This recipe beats store-bought hotdog chili by a mile. Water and textured veggie protein make up most of the top ingredients in canned chili (even name brands). Meat is usually 3rd or 4th on the list. Will never buy it again. And so easy to make! Thank you! Love the combination of slaw and chili on hotdogs. The meatiness of the chili and fresh crunch of the slaw make for a perfect pairing.
Haha u slice onions the way I do. My hands just aren't big enough to hold the onion while slicing it. Either onion goes everywhere or I get sliced to, lol. I might try this today. I'm lookin for a good simple recipe. So tired of the canned stuff. Tyfs God bless you
Good ol carolina style hot dog. Chili slaw mustard and onion. Im having this for dinner tonite. Thanks for the Chili recipe.
U ain't lyin'
