I was rooting for you on stream!! The way you cleared that Snake Eye end board was awesome! I’m hoping with the second wave of support they give us a Mimighoul that blows up backrow when it’s flipped 😁
In the explaination you mentioned that Master didn't seem very good because it only worked in the opponent's Main Phase and while that is true that it isn't very good, keep in mind that the Mimighouls ONLY get their effects if flipped during the Main Phase anyway, so the only meaningful buff that Master could have is let you flip during either Main Phase, otherwise you would constantly be missing the timing window for the mimighoul flip effects.
Brilliant way to play the deck, so thank you for sharing your insights! I had a lot to learn from this. I look forward to anything more for the deck you may have to share :)
I like the idea but the Rabbit cant search Room and it doesn't pop anything because Rabbit can only search continues traps and only pops when a monster is summoned from the s/t zone
We didn't mention record, but we both dropped towards the end of day 1. While we think this is a strong list, the reality is that we're in a tier 0 format. A combination of that plus some bad luck and limited time for testing unfortunately held us back.
@@SmokeBanditsYGO Hey, just glad the deck got representation! The fact that you broke a board with Mimighoul shows that the deck has potential and the next wave of support should help push this deck!
very good videos, i love the explanation you gave to explain why you use some cards with specific ratios, did you try to use instant fusion with master of ham + guard dog in your playtests? if yes, what was the reason that made you not keep it in the final version? because the deck ends up with a lot of flip monsters in the GY and banishing them to have a free body with master of ham could be interesting
We decided not to play other flips or Master of Ham because the count was already tight, and we want to commit either Archfiend or Dragon as our normal. Maker is too much of a risk, if that’s the plan for Guard Dog. We opted for a higher consistency and floor over other locks with brick potential.
@@SmokeBanditsYGOi see, the plan for guard dog was to special summon it with master of ham, not maker because of the risk you mentionned, but yeah i tried a version of your list with what i have and even if i add one cerberus and master the deck already runs out of names when i want to use a third maker
From my own testing i find i really appreciate Unicorn as a rip tool. Mimighoul can go toe to toe with Fiendsmith (inconsistently) without it but unicorn is crucial to leveling the playing field.
@SmokeBanditsYGO dumb as it sounds it's got me considering ghost reaper and a requiem target because if you give them a body you guarantee meeting the condition to activate reaper
We've changed to 3 Unicorn, 1 Birth, 1 Wraitsoth. Unicorn provides so much more utility in this deck than Fenrir. Check out our combo video from today for the updated list!
I'm a little confused about what you said with the Thrust/Talents about turning it on at 5:52. You say you activate the hand effect to give them the Mimighoul and then it's live but how? You are the player that activated the effect. Did you mean after you flip the monster up during your turn?
I misspoke a bit there. I think what I meant to say is that the add off Thrust is live because they have a body (assuming you can flip or get handtrapped)
Sorry I feel like im being dumb, but can you explain the lock? I get the field spell stops the normal summon but what does gryphon do exactly because of its placement?
Gryphon stops special summoned monsters from activating effects, unless they are linked. Dungeon stops normal summoning if you have a set monster. You make Gryphon and summon the set monster in front of the arrow pointing to your opponent's field. In that scenario, the opponent can only special summon monsters but cannot activate their effects because they aren't linked, and your set body is blocking them from being linked.
@@jakep6254 It’s a game mechanic-monsters can’t be manually flipped face-up the turn they are summoned face-down. So if you give them the set monster on their turn, they can’t flip it up unless they have some card effect that allows them to. Hope that makes sense!
Nice Profile! I was cherring for you in the feature match :) Did prosp and archfiend conflicting mess up any duels you had? As much as i like droll, id cut him too, conflicting with shiftzer and IMO he doesnt end turns vs se or yubel, hurts yes but they still put up 3-4 interruptions. Playing 3 unicorn sounds actually nice, getting to banish 2 cards with the right set-up (1 on your turn and 1 in oppo turn) just sounds fun haha. The combo at the end is cool, set-up is no joke imo cause you need to not get handtrapped at any point, but ist ip, 1 body, 1 mimighoul on oppo side and dungeon + room, but what is the play after the play? Like we summon gryphon, have the mimighoul on their field again and locked them from normal summoning and activating monster effects that were special summoned, how do we otk then? or do we play the slow game after that? cause gryphon locks us too to some extend ? Kind regards :)
I think playing 2 prosperity helps avoid conflicting with archfiend. The deck has a hard time OTKing, but once you're out of resources for the lock, you can make zealantis to get your body back and go into accesscode. We do think this deck is best suited as a control deck, so it is expected for game pace to be slow.
I would suggest you replace ash with 3x dominus purge. Doesn’t trigger talent or thrust, you play the mimighoul trap so it might even be a pop and all your monsters and HT are earth or wind, with the exception of shifter which you can always activate in the draw phase before dominus purge. I guess the only card u should cut would be magnamut, not a bug deal in 1x
We had the idea for Dominus Purge instead of Ash in our first iteration, but we reread the card, and it doesn’t work for our strategy. It stops all dark, water, and fire, not just handtraps, so we lose access to half of our extra deck.
We stayed in it until late in day 1, but we think the deck has great potential once we can fully optimize. Looking forward to a great wave 2 of support!
I’m sorry but i did not understand a thing. Gryphon stops the effects of special summon monsters until they are linked. When you special summon it with masquerena like in the video, you can’t activate it’s effect of take a spell/trap card because he’s not linked, or am i in fault?
the effect of take a spell/trap from the gy does not require gryphon to be linked, but his lock effect doesn't apply on linked monsters so we use the face down monster to body block the zone gryphon points to

Man I was cheering for this one. This is the type of challenger we love to see!
I love the concept of Mimighoul and I also like how strong it is.
Damn, the power of I:P in this Deck is NUTS

Absolutely. Hit their Requiem and watch them cry 😂

Funny enough, we considered it in the side but cut it last minute for more impactful breakers
@SmokeBanditsYGO well maybe there's also cycle reader to interrupt fiendsmith mid combo
Any changes besides the kash package you would make to the list based on its performance or the development of the format?

I'm really interred into experimenting with this deck. What was your w/l ration after day 1?

@@SmokeBanditsYGO ah I see, thanks a bunch!
@@SmokeBanditsYGO Oh fuck. That's just MEAN lol
@SmokeBanditsYGO also have a question on the lock. What stops them from just flipping summoning the monster you put in front of gryphon?
@@jakep6254 It’s a game mechanic-monsters can’t be manually flipped face-up the turn they are summoned face-down. So if you give them the set monster on their turn, they can’t flip it up unless they have some card effect that allows them to. Hope that makes sense!
I'm confused on the gryphon thing can't they just flip dragon?
As a game mechanic, the controller of a monster cannot change its battle position the turn it is summoned.
This is genius
What do you guys think of Reverse Reuse?
Not a bad card, but it’s too slow and a brick opening second

Is not important play number 13 o 31?
We ended up adding one of those to our lists after the fact. Feel free to check out our updated list video
A shame you lost the feature. It was one of the best matches of the day. Stream chat was losing it over the Zeus missplay, but we've all been there.
I have a bad habit of “yeah ok”, and I realized as soon as I didn’t respond on the summon. Misplays are learning opportunities
Thanks for the profile! Im playing the handloop version. What was ur récord? Did u win? Thnx😊

gryphon is linked with the face down monster
When Gryphon is summoned, it is pointing (linked) to the face down Dragon we just summoned off of Room.
the effect of take a spell/trap from the gy does not require gryphon to be linked, but his lock effect doesn't apply on linked monsters so we use the face down monster to body block the zone gryphon points to
