So this takes 30 years into the future, Keita/Nate lost the abilities to see Yokai. And the Yokai somehow changed into those creepy thing. (Although, make you question how come they changed after being around for centuries)
It's crazy seeing how different all the yokai look, nate is all grown up married Katie and has 2 kids and they end up meeting his 2 friends who have aged as well
I wish at some point Nate, Whisper and Jibanyan remembered that they used to be friends or at least that someone told the daughter that they knew each other.
i love how, despite how much more mature he is now, he still hasn’t lost his sense of humour and charm (yeah i have a bit of a soft spot for whisper. always have, to be honest.)

So a Shadowside form is a more combat oriented form a Yokai can take when they need to fight. The Lightside form is the more standard form a Yokai takes when not fighting or has been exhausted.
Whisper just doesn't feel like Whisper in this show. He's being overshadowed by human characters and that's not good. He's supposed to be charismatic and annoying. Here's how we could easily fix his introduction : _Natsume notices the bingo-kai, and she is scared by a weird laugh coming from behind her_ ??? : Fufufufu... Hehehehehe.... Uhahuahuahuahua... Hailey Anne grew out of her childish ways and she moved away once she couldn’t see us Yokai anymore and I changed my appearance as well in Shadowside. What I’m doing is performing experiments to help me get a boost and fight better without my gun
I have so many questions what happened to whisper in the jibanya like the last time I saw them Nate was young and getting a lot of yo Kai Also it looks like the show got slightly darker can someone tell me how I can see the whole series or tell me the timeline because I’m confuse

The redesigns are unnecessary and ugly. If they want to make new yokai, MAKE NEW ONES. Stop changing the ones people already love. Yokai Watch is a class in how to absolutely fumble and mishandle a franchise into oblivion

I don't find him creepy, I find him quite distinguished. Besides, Shadowside is supposed to make them creepy, it is a horror.
