I'm very, very new to learning how to play the guitar but this video really explained how to play the chords. I guess most songs aren't this complicated (i really don't know?) but I wish there were more videos like this to explain the songs.

Dave this is awesome! People have been begging for my band to play this at our shows but I didn't know this version...but I knew if I ever did learn it it would be easy after watching you play it. I've played some Goo Goo Dolls songs in the past and Johnny Reznik uses a bunch of these alternate tunings.
Love the song keep rockin' and this will definitely become part of my bands set so we'll keep spreadin the Lady A love!

Dave, thank you so much for taking the time to share this. I've been using open tuning when I first learned of Michael Hedges, back in the 1980's. I had a good idea of your tune, but wanted to get it exactly right, and got lucky and found your lesson here. Thanks again, really enjoy Lady Ant's music, you guys are awesome!

@Hollywoodgirl1010 DADGAD is just an alternate form of tuning. The A, D, G (3rd, 4th, 5th) strings remain the same like in standard EADGBE. Only 1st (E), 2nd(B) and 6th(E) strings need to be re-tuned to D, A and D respectively. Then, once u get DADGAD, u tune every string a half-step down to C# G# C# F# G# C#. Hope this helps. :)
Thanks Dave! I’ve played DADGAD often so it wasn’t a stretch, but it’s hard to accommodate a request from someone while your on stage and tuned in standard. I’ll refer them to your link to show them how you have to retune. Great post!
