Ohh i wish I could have told you that in southeast asia, running is usually best at 4-5am. That is why marathons are held in those times. I used to run at 5:30am and will be done by 6:30 or before the sun becomes so hot.
Nice packing video...this year was my first year packing for a 7 day trip with only a carry-on and it worked out great. I'm sold on minimal pack now. Plus, backpacking is a time to enjoy the experience and embrace your natural beauty. Have fun!
Nice job choosing items and packing them. In that part of the world, minimal clothing is required, so packing light is easier. We just spent three weeks in Korea during cool weather (March 11 - 31), and we each took just one small suitcase, plus one other small bag each. Packing is an art form, for sure. Happy Travels!
Very Good Vid. I just came back from a 6 month solo trip to SEA myself and YES definitely just buy stuff when you are there. I bought WAY too much stuff. New Timers; Listen to this advice!
thanks! I'm from Singapore and going to Cambodia in June. I suppose I do feel a lot less 'be safe than sorry' when packing simply because I have an idea what to expect. but still it was fun watching this!
This is a really great video. I think you have a nice balance of items. I always struggle with shoes! But once when I was traveling across Europe and I brought only two pairs of shoes. I was so proud of myself! Lol I loved Australia! I am hoping to go back next year. Safe travels!
So happy I found this channel, you are doing the exact trip I want to do ! Even the finishing in Australia . How heavy is you bag once you have everything in it ?? Thanks for the great video ! :)
Wohoo! Will also be going to Australia quite soon, pretty darn excited about that. But I need to pack for both winter(ish) and summer, it will be a challenge. Especially since I usually always over pack to begin with.
Thanks for the video. I love packing video's. Would you mind sharing where you got the little pouches for your jewelry? They are amazing and I would love to find some! Thank you!
Oj! You really likes to carry things. The pack was bigger than you! :) Now that you have travelled for a while longer, I am curious to how your current gear&pack looks like? I consider to be a backpacker for my next trip to SeA and am thinking on what to bring. Any tip is welcome :) I am usually a flashpacker so I imagine the gearsetup differs? Happy travells!
How much money would you say you'll need to backpack for Vietnam and Thailand for a month? Is $2000.00 enough for spending (hostels/cheap food/beer/local travel)?
Hi, I hit you up on thursday on FB with our going there soon. Thanks for answering..um, I was wondering where did you get the microfiber towel? How much was it and was it worth it? Should I bring anything extra? (There their tampons are no good...its what Ive heard.)
I just love your backpack. I think I'll buy one for my little when they graduate this year. Btw, I recently purchased a VW van with the intention of renting it to tourists who want to come here to camp and hike and stuff. If you ever make it this way I'd love to give it to you for a week, I can show you all the great hidden beaches and waterfalls too. Might make for a fun video :-) I have lots of beach and camping gear and a GoPro to use with the van as well. How much longer will you be in SE Asia?
Hi Mari! Was your backpack small enough to bring as a carry on onto the planes or was it considered checked luggage? I'm trying to find something that is the perfect size to bring onto the plane with me as a carry on. Great video btw, I'm going on my first backpacking trip soon and this is extremely helpful! Thank you :)
+Melanie Lavergne Depends what airline, but I've carried it on plenty of times, but sometimes it's too big or too heavy. You can watch the video about the backpack for more info!
You over packed for SE Asia. You can always buy cheap T-shirts for like $1 US. Buy small packet of clothes detergent for 10 cents at 7/11. Enough for about 15 washes in a bathroom sink. Umbrella in SE Asia, forget it, if it rains just duck into a restaurant/bar and wait it out. Or wear a baseball hat. One swim suit only or buy a new one very cheap and zillions of styles. 1 pair of walking/running shoes. 1 pair of casual shoes, and 1 pair of walking sandals. Do not bring your winter jacket/sweater/jacket/sweatshirt to SE Asia countries Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myramar. You just need one long sleeve shirt, go your airport without a jacket, or else you will end up dragging it all over SE Asia for nothing. If going to Korea/China/N. Vietnam in the winter, then pack some warm clothes.
Been a sub for a couple of months. Love your video! Questions: where do you carry your laptop? And do you stuff the little backpack inside the other? :D
I'm an absolute OVER-PACKER with the "just in case" excuse. It was cold and rainy the week before I went to NYC and so I packed with that in mind (rain boots, winter coat included) only to be received by "unseasonably warm weather" as the meteorologist said. So I ended up buying a few t-shirts and hardly wore anything I originally packed. C'est la vie!
Loooove those elephant shorts and pants! I think I would splurge in Asia if I went backpacking there haha. Do you walk around with your backpack a lot? I don't think I'd last more than 10 min with it on lol.
+Here & Air Travels The good thing is that "splurging" here is still only a few dollars! I don't walk around with it too much, just getting to and from buses and accommodations and whatnot.
It's time to make our caps talk when we travel. We'll show you how! Es hora de hacer que nuestras gorras hablen mientras viajamos. Te mostraremos cómo! Feb 8, 2016. Instagram: _the_earth_cap_begins
Jesus- you brought a TON of clothes. Just bring 3 or 4 quick drying pants and shorts. You'll save a lot of weight, and you have room for clothes you buy there.
So happy I found this channel, you are doing the exact trip I want to do ! Even the finishing in Australia . How heavy is you bag once you have everything in it ?? Thanks for the great video ! :)

why did you pack so much?!
Nice packing video...this year was my first year packing for a 7 day trip with only a carry-on and it worked out great. I'm sold on minimal pack now. Plus, backpacking is a time to enjoy the experience and embrace your natural beauty. Have fun!
+Selena Thinking Out Loud Awesome! Yeah, it's so much better once you realize you don't need a lot! More freeing!

No problem! Glad you like it!
I can't believe you fit all of that in your backpack! I'm impressed :)
The rolling method and packing cubes really help!
thanks! I'm from Singapore and going to Cambodia in June. I suppose I do feel a lot less 'be safe than sorry' when packing simply because I have an idea what to expect. but still it was fun watching this!
I love to see how all of this fits into a "carry-on" bag!!
I'm filming one of these this week for my Europe trip carry on bag!
+Jacob Carlson (Check Out Jacob) Nice! Looking forward to it!

+Lielle Nice! Yeah, I definitely could have gotten by with only 2 pairs, I really only wear one every day, but oh well.
I really like the cute little grey purse you got in Thailand :) Thanks for this look in your bag!
+ohvimbo Thanks! It was a market find!
Hi Mari, just came across your channel via JP's. Great videos and thanks for the packing tips. :)

+Bo Stark Yeah, it's definitely trickier when you have multiple climates to pack for. Just bring layers!
Thanks for the video. I love packing video's. Would you mind sharing where you got the little pouches for your jewelry? They are amazing and I would love to find some! Thank you!

What's the total weight of the bag? Did you just have it as a carry-on for flights? Nice video btw!
How much money would you say you'll need to backpack for Vietnam and Thailand for a month? Is $2000.00 enough for spending (hostels/cheap food/beer/local travel)?
I adore your new elephant shorts and pants! This video is fascinating and super informative :)
There's so much elephant stuff here! I keep thinking of you!
Aww, that's sweet! :) I'm loving following along on your travels!
I just bought some new pairs of Asics. They're the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

+Nancy S. Macario hi Nancy! I carry my laptop in my smaller backpack and always keep it with me. I keep it separate from the clothes backpack.
Great video! Btw, your skin looks so beautiful and healthy. Any tips?
