    Today I have built this gearbox, I wanted to use in my truck, it looks interesting and works well by itself, but it can not be used with motors in MOCs, because the following major problem:
    The gearbox doesn't have a neutral gear, so the motor is completely blocked while changing the gears. Motor and gears will be damaged very quickly. 24 teeth gear with clutch will not help here because the torque from a motor will be too weak.

      +Vadim S. Hi Vadim,
      Thank you for building my gearbox. I really like to get feedback for my creations. Actually this gearbox was not designed to be used in a car. This is why I am currently working on a heavy duty version, as few people asked for it. It is using the newer style driving ring which would allow a much more solid and reliable design. I hope to finish it before the end of the year. However, downgrading with this version is totally possible.

      +Charbel's LEGO TECHNIC Creations could you also please try to make a 8 speed that is reliable, solid, light (like really light), and could be shifted by a motor. I know I'm asking a little much but could you at least try? If it works it would work grate if not perfect In a Lego race car.

    • @natewallinger9270

      +Charbel's LEGO TECHNIC Creations or could you make a small, light, compact, racing transmission that has at least 6 gears, neutral, and reverse? You could even have it take up the middle form front to back of the car and only take up the bottom.

    I love these gearboxes! Which gearbox would you prefer? I have currently built the heavy duty one but for the transmission rods the grey slider runs on, I had to use the stock ones which take a lot of force to shift resulting in it getting stuck and jamming it self. Besides that, I works really well. But, I would just like to know would you prefer this 8 speed gearbox of the heavy duty one? (BTW I'm not using it in any car, just for fun, to look at. ;D) Thanks!

      I want to request a heavy duty automatic sequential transmission with flywheel :)

    • @likeabauws
      @likeabauws 8 років тому

      +Josh McLaughlin not quite; heavy duty means the gearbox is stronger built itself, so it can bear higher loads.

    • @CharbelLEGOcreation
      @CharbelLEGOcreation  7 років тому

      likeabauws The heavy duty version is coming soon ! I finally finished the prototype which is working perfectly. I simply need to improve the build itself. Expect it to come in a few weeks.

    Very cool gearbox! What color do you use for the background? Is it white or lightgrey?

    wow. First really working shifting mechanism. How will it work under load ?
    Only minor fault I see in the nonsynchronous part. Now only put some gear and motor on to the shifting lever. I also changed the connector under cluthes to the type without stops. It seems to work smother. Thx. I looking forward to put it in my 8x8.
