In my opinion Splice is Like a library, and a Sample pack is like a collection of books. If you have a very specific idea in mind and you know you are going to need certain sounds that exist in that pack then it’s a great one time payment option. But the nice thing about subscriptions like splice, is that you are basically Paying monthly to have an open source full of tons of sounds that could fit almost any circumstance, and if you want to explore and find inspiration, or you just have a less definite idea of what sounds you need, having splice is great.
it works , i used it for vocals , but cancelled due to it's predatory credit system..
I already have decades worth of sounds to use, I even go back to samples I used over 10 years ago and make something completely new.
I just started getting into that. Saving certain samples and re-freaking them.

Before you unsubscribe, buy complete sample libraries/packs that fit your needs. I do this whenever I have way more credits then I need. I've bought some very useful percussion and effects libraries/packs.
I cancelled my subscription to Splice a few days ago after finding a base guitar loop which was virtually identical to the classic baseline from Cream's, "Sunshine of Your Love".
Oof yeh that's fair. My predominant use of it is for single shot drum samples and ambient things I can mess up and repurpose into other sounds, but yeh definitely can be dangerous with melodies.

If you download a sample from splice into your DAW to use on a project, do you get to keep forever?
Yep once you've used a credit to 'purchase' the sample on splice it's yours forever!
I can't even buy Splice because it doesnt support my bank + when i try to buy it with paypal it still asks for a credit card. :(

Yup I use it all the time, love it! Definitely an expensive investment, and I think if you don’t have the money for it there are heaps of fantastic software amps out there. I just love being able to commit my guitar tones and not tweak them to infinity
