Gotta appeal to the masses who just want something big and never use it for work so now trucks are loaded with infotainment systems and everything like an oversized minivan.
Wow... WOW! I really like these old Ford trucks and this one is in mint condition. Just so you know, that engine is the 4.9L Inline 6, or in cubic inches the 300. I believe that engine is the best engine Ford ever made. They can easily make it to 300,000 miles or more. When you have the chance, look it up and you will be amazed at how great they are. This is seriously my dream truck man! Great video of a super nice find!
Thanks for your comment! I didn't even think about the fact it could have had an inline 6 instead of a 302 haha. Thanks for the correction. And this thing is absolutely immaculate, it was a pleasure being able to drive it and film it :D
Jim Garrity wow you really have no clue...for 1985, only the 302 had efi as an option, the 300 didn't get fuel injection until 1987. Source: the engine bay of my 1985 f150 302 is exactly the same as this.
EliYourCarGuy I have a '90 with the I6 5spd worth 258,000 running perfect just the damn solonoid things keep breaking lol engine Mitsubishi 5spd flawless
John Mcclane I personally own a 1985 f-150 and I love how my dash and instrument panel looks. It’s clean and not so rounded , but my 2000 ford ranger has a lot of ovals and rounded edges that I think throws the look off.
I owned one like that a long time ago. Ran great, was 2 wheel drive and carburated. The chock failed and I put a piece of wood in the carburator which kept the chock from closing. It was a big truck and I learned never to buy a 2 wheel drive since I almost got stuck in the middle of nowhere--- pre cell phone days..
Definitely keep in contact. I'll be getting one these in couple of years. How much to buy cheap and get to daily driving reliability with no problems but oil change every 3-4K miles?
How did you find a 32 year old truck with only 12K miles and not even a scratch in the bed? Was it re- painted ? The inside looks perfect just like new, no sun damage at all.
im not being negative but behind the seat and underside of the hood didnt look as nice as the outside could have been the camera angle and i really miss the dimmer switch on the floor thanks
I'd much rather find an older truck from the 80's and do a full frame off restoration and make it new for maybe 25K. Todays trucks are FAR to spendy with WAY TOO MUCH electronic crap that nobody needs. Speaking of...Whats the first to need replacing on any modern vehicle???? ELECTRONICS. Have fun paying for that.
RockTheSix you can fully restore a 1985 to xlt standards for about 5k. Unless you’re doing a resto-mod it’s shouldn’t cost that much to restore an old truck like this.
I think most of us can start a truck and maybe even turn on the lights. How to open the glove box wasn't a real revelation. Everything you mentioned was blindingly obvious. Said nothing about the 7th generation itself. And the most interesting thing about this truck was the 4-wheel drive. You quickly mentioned it but then never spoke about it again. You counted the tail pipe(s) for us but didn't show the operation of the 4-wheel drive. A complete waste of time.
yes it's a 6 digit odometer, which gives 5 fields for the miles and one field for the tenths. So yes, it could have technically been 112,000 miles, or 212,000 or 512,000. The reason I said he played himself was that the odometer is not the only thing used to determine a vehicle's age. The other things are all on display in this video to show with a high degree of certainty that this truck has only driven 12,000.
Why can't trucks be like this nowadays! Bare bones, simple and so awesome!!
I agree. It looks badass and does what it needs no questions asked. I wish I could buy a new one
Gotta appeal to the masses who just want something big and never use it for work so now trucks are loaded with infotainment systems and everything like an oversized minivan.
Because some of us like loaded trucks. Plus this truck isn't totally bare bones. It does have a few options
Wow this truck is a time capsule from 1985. It literally looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
It’s gotta be past 100K miles, they roll back after 100K. NONE THE LESS! I’ve got the same one but an ‘86.. this is a piece of art!

Maxxcarz if it's an 85, it has to be a 302, because that was the only engine with fuel injection for that year. You can see the badge on the tailgate

Yes, the 302 was the only EFI option in 85. The 300 got it in 87 and the 351/460 in 88
ya got to love how young'uns explain vehicles from the 80s
I just absolutely love the orange on the speedometer and other gauges.
Ford Restored I dunno why but for me I like this better than 1990s ford what about you

Nice truck. I've liked this body style at the time.
Wait bud, so is it the 5.0 302. Or the 4.9 300?
I had an 85 F-150 blue and silver 351 standard. Traded it in 26 years ago
It had been started and running right before the video lol. Fires right up lol. Notice the temperature gage before he starts it.
Is beautiful 👌 congratulations bro

You would never see a 85 Toyota like this Ford.
Mitchell Yardanoff theres an arab guy that owns one of them. Like 60miles used
How come the buzzer is always dead? I’m pretty sure my 84 has a working buzzer

I disconnect my switch so that the light doesn't turn on at night when i open the door. Maybe this is the case here.

12 thousand miles my ass. Just add one or two hundred thousand.
Jacking instructions..
It could have 112,000 miles
you played yourself with this comment homie.
stfupaco Actually i believe this truck's miles relapse after 100,000 on the dash
