- Finally getting a shop!!! I have so much work and so many projects...I'll finally be working clean and out of the weather. No more laying in dirt under a car or truck! Hang with me while I put this together without much help from anyone.

Thanks for sharing the tips you figured out on the way. We're putting up a 30x34 kit.
I’m just starting mine! Doing a 21x27 I just finished the site work but will be doing radiant I can’t wait to get it up
Im glad ya back bob ..fabbo in every direction.. 😍😎😁pip pips pilgrims
Great video!
Never mind the drill, I just want a pair of those rad flip flops.
Lol....didn't notice that until I read your comment. ikr.
Wonder if he ever hurts his toes wearing those
Safety First! Steel toed sandals!
Where is the next video? I want to see the finished product.
Thanks for this
That dog in the background would drive me nuts.
Very helpful video, thanks! Are those the new OSHA approved, steel toe flip flops? 😁
Anyone getting a building with concrete done like this ask concrete guys to do a 2"drop next too the framing helps with keeping water out and a slope by the garage doors
Milwaukee all the way 👍
I think you erred and purchased the hammer drills that didn't have the SDS function. I've had one of the HF SDS drills and used it to drill 2 inch holes in a piece of ledge to split it for removal. It worked fine and still works great years later. If you had purchased the SDS drill, instead of an inpact drill, I think you would have been happy.
Perhaps...I'm a huge HF fan and still am. Thanks
You couldve done yourself a big favor with some sill seal under those base rails
Did you finish this building?
Great job thank you for sharing your project
How much did you pay for the foundation work?
Get yourself an impact gun..makes self tapping screws wayyyy easier to install and you won't twist your wrist up ;)
Easy to ring them out also though.....especially with thinner gauged metal
@@IntenseInvestor just know your tool ain't hard too feather it
Know what I never see anyone do with these pre-fab metal buildings?....put some sort of sill seal/barrier between the bottom rail and the concrete. Seems like it's just gonna grind off the galvanizing with expansion and contraction....maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine doing one without.
I thought the same thing.. What would you suggest using, construction adhesive?
Or henry's roofing tar in a tube?
Sill seal. 4" Trim off the excess. Will help seal the building.
You should put roll styrofoam under base channel cut off excess
Mark it on concrete after its squared so you got referencepoint
Where did you buy all the pre fab to build it?
Are they steel toed socks????
How long did the build take?
At least he wearing the proper footwear.
Did u set anchor bolts for the ends of the columns when you poured the slab?
You drill after wedge anchors not ibeam columns square tube clips hat bar
I notice you have anchor bolts about every 5 feet, it looks like. I had a shop installed recently where they only put anchor bolts maybe every 10 ft, and that concerns me. I already know they were a bad installer, because they put one wall up off level, and had to straighten it before I paid. Can't get anything good from anyone anymore.
Yes you need anchors every 5 feet bro for up lift anchor it home brother iam installed giveing you proper advice
Pro tip buy a can of fluid film from the auto parts store and spray the joints and inside the tube, a little goes a long way and stops corrosion and rust, never to late todo this
Sunbelt Rental rents Hilti hammer drills. Why buy one unless you’re going to need one over and over again.
So where is parts 2/3 and the rest? Did you quit putting this together?
Hi David...I did complete the shop. I have the footage. I needed to bring someone in to complete the sheet metal work. Work has me crazy swamped.
Don't blow out the hole after you drill into the concrete. The dust left in the hole provides for a way better bite for the anchor. Can't think of any benefit to clearing out the dust. That's how we've always done it anyway.
Hello
What is the thickness of the concrete slab?
Thank you
5 inches with a 12x12 footing all around
Holy need tricks of trade impact drivers socket tip for socket for anchors .agent tip for screws Philips tip for pan screws
Harbor Freight is Cheap Chinese Garbage ,Milwaukee is the way to Go ! Cmon man !….Nice Workboots by the way🤣
I do fine with my Harbor Freight tools. You want me to share the link to where I bought my footwear? Try being nice...I did you no wrong.
Great job only thing is you wouldn't be on my job site with flip-flops on a big No-No
Lol let people find out the hard way it's only a toe!!!! Trump 2024 because Bidens brain is a flip flopper
Good thing its not your job site and you've probably never "had" a jobsite to begin with.
Uh, uh, uh...can’t take it any more
Versa tube kits are way too expensive, can easily get a building installed from someone else and still save a few grand compared to versa tube . Way too expensive for a do it yourself kit. $17,900 for a 30x39 with 10ft walls.
Just payed 14k installed for a 30x40x10 .
all vertical and the same metal specs …
Your dreaming, In North Idaho a 40x50 shop was quoted at 81,000. Versatube done myself will cost half that at 40-45000
@@stevehall7479 dreaming about what exactly.
I assure you my 30x40x10 cost me 14k , I wrote the check for it . And am insulating it this week.
@@MrErikwade What state are you in? Company name?
@@MrRspar Oklahoma, Alan’s factory outlet .

What happened to the Weaver Gold Claim! Where is Mike now?
Yikes dude are you working in sandals and socks?
Lol that’s what I said
Why versa tube? they are more expensive than the dozens of others and the competition puts the building up for you and the quality is about the same NONE of them are really high quality but the others are little less expensive and you do not have to do the work
You have names?
@@soberaigner Yea Cardinal carport > American steel> power built steel buildings and these are just the ones I have quotes from 30x66x11 with partion wall inside , doors windows etc average is 31K installed on your slab > this is my plan about 9 week lead time
I can promise you that with the right suppliers versatube is cheaper. Steel building prices have gone up about 40 to 60% depending on manufacturer's. If you shop around for your other parts then this kit can definitely save money.
@@christopherheist1120 Good luck on 9 weeks. Mine was 7 months and then they cancelled my order without explanation. Rebuilt building on website, price went up 40%!!! Versa tube delivered in 2 weeks!! Complete.
a little less talk a little more actiom
The title of your video states you are building a 30" inch X 40" inch shop. Shouldn't it be 30' foot X 40' foot? Measurement skills are a necessity in the building and trades industry.
So is common sense, we know what it meant.
This video is to scale 1” = 1’
