My first time flying with them we delayed cause the crew decided to do a head count by hand and they miscounted 3 times
Never flown allegiant but I’m not American but in the uk you can fly Ryanair jet2 and easyJet there are the uk low cost carriers

I just flew allegiant from FLL to Asheville, NC - both flights were aboard Airbus A-320s' that were less than 2 years old, both flights were early and the crew was exceptional! The core of their problems were the MD-80's they're gone now and you can tell - feels like a completely different airline!
Yeah I remember back in early 2019 I was searching reviews and was kinda freaked out about all the issues and emergency landings they had to do with the MD-80s. I felt much better once I learned they were running all Airbus now. I believe they got it completely switched in 2018 sometime.

Lol, so true, I was watching his videos late at night, literally lulled me to sleep.
I remember being a little kid flying Allegiant Air to visit my Grandma and Grandpa and being totally mesmerized by the plane. It was such a magical feeling lifting into the air and seeing the world grow small. Allegiant Air brings back so many good memories and it’s a level of nostalgia I’ll never forget. It may sound silly, but, I hope I get to fly them again someday. Just for nostalgia.
I fly Allegiant to MYR often, they are fantastic and you can't beat the price. Annoys me that people complain about them charging you for a seat or a carry-on when round-trip tickets are sub-200 dollars for a direct flight.

My girlfriend lives in Florida and I live in Virginia so we both use Allegiant A LOT! If you get your ticket a month in advance and have only a carry-on bag then my round trip tickets cost just over $110, amazing. I have always had a base fear of flying but Allegiant flights don't increase my regular anxiety, I've felt safe on their flights in the A319.
Let me say my flying with Allegiant air has had some issues with being on time, but every time I’ve flown with them I’ve never felt unsafe
Recently flew Allegiant roundtrip between LAX and Bellingham, WA . Certainly not the most comfortable seats, but adequate for a 2 1/2 hr. flight. Great crew, smooth flight and early, by 30 minutes in both directions.
I fly Allegiant a couple times a year. Never had a problem. And attention Veterans and Active Duty military: Checked bags (up to three bags) are free! I think maybe your carry-on is free too, but I always check as I fly from one tiny airport to another tiny airport on Allegiant.
I have traveled on allegiant more than ten times and at no point was anyone rude to me and at no point did I feel unsafe.

Flew with allegiant for the first time this week, besides a relatively long delay in vegas. I dont think iv ever had such a smooth experience with any airlines! I love the options they give us from our small airport.
Appreciate the info Jeb. I've seen each of those "No frills" carriers and I just choose not to utilize them because often, in the end, what you end up paying for is close to what you would pay on the larger carriers. Plus the aggravation you experience while purchasing your ticket is just not worth the hassle. In the end, as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for." Safe travels.

I wouldn't fly Allegiant, but I didn't think Frontier was too bad when I flew them in January. However, after fees, I didn't find them to be any cheaper than Delta.
I take it back, after watching this video a second time, and looking into Allegiant, although they only fly out of Milwaukee once or twice a week, their flight times are convenient.
I have flown Allegiant a few times. I loved it. Service was great. Didn’t feel I was in danger at all.

I fly Allegiant all the time. Mostly because they are the only airlines flying nonstop to/ from Orlando and Huntington WV. I have never had a problem or felt unsafe. Delays have always been weather related, not airlines related and reading conditions and following the rules has made it simple and easy. I love the fact that they fly into many smaller airports that get neglected by the big carriers. Flight attendants have always been polite and crying babies make me feel bad for the parents and the poor baby who is obviously in pain. It never makes me angry. I have been stuck next to grumpy passengers a time or two, but mostly great folks who are just trying to get from one place to another just like me. Once in a while I get lucky with someone who is friendly, funny and interesting. That always makes the flight go faster.

Glad to find this video. I'm flying to Las Vegas in 2 weeks with Allegiant. 3 hour flight. You put my mind at ease about the fight and legroom. I'm a tall guy so it will be a squeeze but not an unreasonable one. Thanks for the timely information :)
Allegiant's A320 has plenty of legroom for this 6'2" guy. Just flew from CLE to JAX. On time!

Nice unbiased video. I live in a mid sized community and having allegiant at nearby airports has made family vacations much easier and cheaper for years. Our family loves the convenience and cost of Allegiant.

Thanks for recognizing the ramp agents! I was a ramp agent in Phoenix for America West Airlines, hottest, most physical job I ever did and I made a whopping $6.95 an hour doing it. But I loved it, I was an Avgeek long before I ever heard that term.
I flew Allegiant 2 times for their non stop flight from syracuse NY to Ft Lauderdale Fla. Where my son lives. I had a very good experience . No problems and love just getting there in one flight (important for me because of disability)
I just flew Allegiant from Pittsburgh to Punta Cana. 3.5 hour trip and both flights to and from were uneventful which is what I like. I would fly them again and would recommend them to others. On a side note I wanted to watch this video before my trip but chose not to because I thought you were going to trash them, glad I was wrong.
I just flew allegiant from Orlando to Columbus. I've never had any issues with them, and this time was great. The staff was friendly, the captain went on the intercom to greet us before takeoff, it was on time. My only issue was the seats were very uncomfortable, but if you just want to get from point A to point B, allegiant is a good airline
i don't fly anywhere if i had to go somewhere like houston i would take Amtrak or have someone bring me there it would take longer but it's worth it to see the beautiful scenery amtrak provides in the observation/ sightseer car(this is on a bi level superliner car)
I was hesitant to fly Allegiant in the past due to the MD80's and the airline's safety record but recently gave them a try. I was pleasantly surprised, the crew was friendly, and things went smoothly. There was an hour delay on my first flight but the provided everyone free premium snack packs and beverages.
Honestly, not a bad experience. I think people that complain don't read the fine print when buying the ticket. If you know what to expect and plan accordingly with a low cost carrier (fees for everything), I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Traveled with them SAV DCA SAV on an Airbus last year, really no complaints. Was just going up for a couple days to watch my Grandson while Mom had to travel for business. Small bag that fit under the seat so really no extra costs except seat selection. Thought it was clever they asked you to tidy up the seat back material before landing.

Allegiant Airlines has perks for vets and their families that fly with them , so we have flown with Allegeiant Airlines a lot . I have never regretted it .As you mentioned you can pay for any seat you want and you can board with food and your uploaded movie on your computer. Children and babies are part of life on any flight. I flew to Israel on a different airline and could not believe all of the babies! They even had a swinging baby cradle to help some babies sleep! Your suggestion for ear plugs if the noise bothers you, is a great idea.

I fly Allegiant frequently. Being disabled I am treated very well by all the staff. They go out of their way to help people who are disabled along with their companion. Big hint - get an Allegiant World MasterCard. If you rent a car through them (I use Enterprise) the prices are very competitive with booking direct and you get a Buy-one, get-one free air ticket with a one week rental. In addition having the Allegiant card (both my wife and I have one) you get a free beverage on the flight including beer and wine. My wheelchair is always very carefully handled and ready and waiting when we deplane. Yes there are a lot of families flying Allegiant because of the fares so you are going to get kids crying once in a while however you get that paying much higher prices on other airlines. Disabled passengers also have designated rows and you are never separated from your traveling companion. Not the greatest selection of flight times but for the price and service I adapt.
One thing my dad had to do was cancel a flight and re-book it because allegiant doesn’t let you add another person on a flight when you already booked. It made him stress out because he didn’t trust if it would give him a full refund and it did. In the end allegiant air should change that policy

I've flown Allegiant for 6 round trip's (12 flights). Only 2 flights left on time with the average delay being around 30 minutes with the longest being 4 hours because of "weather". I checked the radar on my phone and didn't see anything where the plane was flying in from. In Myrtle Beach we powered up on the runway to take off only to power down and the pilots had to brake very hard to stop. They said it was a backup radio had failed and we sat on a hot plane for 2 hours waiting on the repairs at the gate. All the planes I rode on were A319's or A320's. In 2016 it was reported more than half of their planes had an "in flight problem" and their maintenance record is not great. That had to include the newer ones too. On a flight to Cincinnati we landed and found cops were stationed by the Allegiant kiosk at the baggage claim. I thought it was odd until we were told they didn't have enough crew to get our bags off the plane when multiple planes land at the same time. It took 2 hours before our bags showed up. On that flight they also came over the intercom on the plane and stated anyone who needed help would need to just sit on the plane since they didn't have staff to help wheel them off. Totally unsatisfactory! The pilots and staff were always great but I felt bad for them having to do the things they had to do! They just happened to work for a crappy company. That report made me nervous so I started flying Frontier and I've had zero problems with them!
Allegiant has been great for our family travel and would recommend.
I fly Allegiant out of AZ. Always been good. Had a delay once for a couple hrs. People are nice good service. I have the credit card.
Great review! I fly ULCC the most as I’m a Frontier Elite Miles 20k member and love them! Allegiant also has large crew base at CVG (my home base). The only issue I ever have has to due with delays! Other than that I’m a huge fan of the ULCC’s! Great Work as always! Liked!

I have flown Allegiant a few times now. If you can work their schedule into yours the cost difference greatly makes up for the lack of amenities. Especially when you look at what little you are giving up. It really isn't that much less than standard class on American or Delta.
I fly Allegiant frequently. One time a major delay but our confort was addressed with water and beverages. I've been in similar situations where there was no consideration for client comfort.
I would say 90% of Allegiant's problems were related to the MD-80's that were getting way up in the years. Parts were getting harder to come by and maintenance intervals were getting closer and closer by necessity (some of the engines on these planes had very high flight cycle counts). With more middle-aged planes, Allegiant can get back to standard maintenance schedules, which should help their overall performance.
Used to fly Alliegent on casino junket trips. Impressed by the service and neatness of the plane. I’ll do it again.
My fiancé lives in Va , Allegiant is the way I go being I fly up every 6 weeks. Never have had a problem or felt unsafe. Yes there are lots of families with young kids, but it’s a hour flight ✈️, and I understand for the price.
I use allegiance air all the time I go from Sanford FL to Columbus Ohio I've never had a problem.
I'm using this company in July to fly home for a few days to visit my mom. I went completely with the base price, no extra bags, just gonna carry a handbag with all my stuff. Time matters little to me since it's all a straight shot from PA to GA.

Only problem I have ever had with Allegiant was flying out of Punta Gorda, Florida in the early morning. Allegiant had 5 flights all scheduled to leave 15 mins apart. Everyone for all 5 flights showed up at about 2 hours before their flight meaning the place was swamped with people. They were not setup to handle that many people and our flight took off when we were 20 back waiting on the security checkpoint (We arrived 2 hours prior to board time). We now never fly out of there early in the morning and haven't had that happen again.
I have flown Allegiant to Florida twice to visit my father. On the Harrisburg end, they don't have a great deal of help, and always seem to run late. At Sanford, it runs like clockwork. Being a veteran, Allegiant is the best to use. If you give them a copy of your DD214, you get seated first, a free check in bag, and a free carry on bag. For the money, they are the best thing you can use in my area. In the end, you get what you pay for, when you want a cheap flight, you get a cheap flight. My only issue using them to visit my father, is I have to get a rental car to drive to Palm Bay, and if I flight to Melbourne on Delta, I don't, so thats my issue.
honestly allegiant is a great airline. the staff is usually very helpful and friendly. even though they had an issue with delays cause the md-80s it has gotten better and there are pretty great everytime i've flown. rather fly on allegiant than delta and their crappy attitudes
Frontier was really nice flight from Vegas to Newark. Allegiant was also a nice flight from Allentown to Myrtle Beach!

I will be flying with them also in a couple of weeks. I love the facts that I can take a flight straight to my destination and not have to walk 30-45 minutes to the otherside of the airport to catch another flight....Praying all goes well... There's no other airlines beating their price...😜
Very interesting. Allegiant flies out of my home base of Stockton CA. I have always been curious to try them but was turned off by all the fees, so I just end up driving an hour north to Sacramento and flying Southwest. Your video has peaked my interest once again. Perhaps I should book a trio to Vegas just for the yucks!
Good old Allegiant! I have flown with them many times between northern / central Indiana and Orlando... and lived to tell about it. I feel the key with them is book by their rules and the flight can be very cheap. If you can deal with just a carry on, settle for their selected seat and book ahead of time enough to get a decent seat at no extra charge. At that point the small extras aren't so bad. Grab a drink and maybe shacks at the terminal and you do get there cheap. However yes I do feel like a member of cattle in the air. Greyhound was more luxurious back in the 1960's, but you DO get there faster.

We flew Allegiant for the first time two weeks ago from Newark, NJ to Destin/Ft Walton Beach, FL, Nonstop. Our flight was to leave at 12:00 pm EDT and arrive in FL at 1:45 pm CDT. While we were having breakfast at the airport they announced our flight would be delayed 20 minutes, a few minutes later 30 minutes, then an hour and then came to the actual 3-hour delay. We boarded our flight finally at around 3 pm EDT and then due to no immediate hookups for A/C at Newark and waiting in line to taxi to the runway, we sat on the plane on the tarmac for another hour! First time with Allegiant, first time out of Newark and it wasn't looking good for us. We, of course, decided that this would be the first and last time we would fly Allegiant and out of Newark. Needless to say, we lost a whole afternoon which could have of been spent in FL. We did not arrive in FL until around 5:45 pm.
Our return flight home ran more smoothly which gave us a little comfort and given that, we may give them a second chance.
I do agree that their website to purchase tickets is very confusing, as they charge for tickets, buying seats, paying for checking bags and carry on bags (both departing and returning) and of course the usual tax and fees which all add up. Then to charge for snacks and drinks on top of that on the plane. Buy and bring your own snacks and get a travel water bottle to fill up after you go through TSA. Saves money! Oh, seats don't recline and tray tables are so small! Downright no frills on this airline.
There are occasional mishaps. Some of the time there's known weather patterns that would interfere with the incoming or outbound flight and the airline will delay while still on the ground. Some of the time it can be traced back to the ground crew not fulfilling their duties in a timely manner. Had one trip where they forgot to refuel the plane. As it was starting to depart from gate to taxi it stopped and a fuel truck pulled up a minute or 3 later.
You aren't required to purchase a seat ticket and if you can pack light enough to keep everything in a personal bag that isn't considered a "carry-on", you can fly super cheap. Like just about anything in life, the cheapest option usually means the lowest quality, service, experience. However, for what it is, I'd say Allegiant is a pretty great company to fly with for what they offer.
I work for subcontracted company under Allegiant. I clean and organize the planes as well as security checks.
We like Southwest as they go everywhere we usually go. Seating is better than the three you chose. Additional charges are minimal. Checked baggage is free, although in the last 10 years, there have been misplaced or damaged checked bags that we've had to deal with; lesson learned, bring your stuff with you if you can. I also like Southwest's boarding process and usually can get a reasonable seat in the A or B groups, so never an inside seat. Worth doing a review if you get the chance.
My goal is to get there safe, low cost, and non stop. I travel from Louisville to St Pete a lot and Allegiant is my first go to

I don’t have any issues with alligiant. I fly a couple times a year use them , I’ve not ever felt unsafe . Staff always friendly.
Actually for the low cost airlines I like Allegiant. They have convenient flights from Colorado Springs (Near where I live) to Las Vegas. I have a house 100 miles south of Vegas so it's a cheap way to get out there. I'll rent a car in Vegas and drive down. Las Vegas has plenty of rental cars to choose from.
The only issue I have with Allegiant is their limited number of flights.
Once I too had an issue with pre-check being closed and the security lines on a Sunday were so long I missed my Allegiant flight. They tend to shut the door early on Allegiant. I went to the gate agent to get on the next flight and found out it wasn't until Thursday!
Therefore I ended up buying an expensive one way ticket to Denver on United. I had to have my wife drive the 50 miles to Denver to pick me up. We live just about exactly halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs. Then the next day she had to drive me to Colorado Springs to pick up my vehicle parked there. So make sure you get to the airport early for Allegiant flights.

I don’t get a chance to travel a lot, but when I do price point is always a concern. Thanks for the start of a low cost comparison. Although Allegiant does not service Atlanta ( though I do see them overhead headed to Florida a lot with my app) it’s good to know what is there in case it’s ever a choice in another location. And thanks for clarifying as to why Southwest and JetBlue are not included. All good info.
A few weeks ago there was a veterans flight that landed at our airport. Apparently the organizers have chartered a flight with Allegiant. This was the most unamerican thing I could imagine
I fly Allegiant for an hour flight to see my in laws. Round trip is usually always below $150 including my checked bag. A lot better than other airlines price wise and I don’t mind the smaller spaces for just an hour flight for what would have been a 9-10 hour drive

I fly Allegiant to vegas & back at least once a year. Mainly because they are the only direct flights from my local airport. Never had any problems. Sometimes they run a little late, but nothing major. Correct, a lot of babies cry on planes, but with some great earbuds & a tablet full of movies, the flight is pretty tame.
I've got a flight with Allegiant on Friday to Sarasota. This will be my first flight with them.
Seats were hard and uncomfortable. Being in an exit row, I was grateful for the extra legroom.
Our landing was delayed because someone was in the shitter.

Allegiant is attracting experienced veteran pilots, Older experienced pilots like that they can be home every night, instead like a major carrier and be gone for days sleeping in hotels.
If I remember correctly, only 5 of the A320s in Allegiant’s fleet were purchased from Airbus and delivered to them from Toulouse. The remaining fleet as well as all the A319s were used previously by other carriers.

I’ve never had issues, but they’re not my first choice due to no seat recline and other flight experiences. If it’s drastically cheaper than other options, which usually isn’t the case after adding on the fees for bags and seat selection, I’ll take them over a mainline I have perks with.

Moral of the story, Allegiant, unlike other budget airlines, gives you just a tiny bit more thank what you may pay for, it's accomodating, it gets you where you need to go for a cheap price, and its just the most ok airline.

Allegiant is the only Carrier I’ve flown. I flew from Bangor international to Orlando then back from saint Pete to Bangor.
