The songs first are the copies and the songs second are the originals! also i did color coordination on the letters of the songs to show you which are the pairs (ex. green for now and never and needed me, purple for havana and same old love) [except for the last 2 the original was first and the copy was second]

Now one thing that hasn’t been mentioned was that late Amanda Lear (often known for her Eurodisco history) also has some songs that sound alike.
For example, her 1995 single Angel Love sounds just like Bobby Pickett’s 1962 hit Monster Mash but in Eurodance form.
Instead of monsters, it’s angels, but Amanda tells a story and matches the lines with the chorus like how Bobby Pickett did matching the lines with the chorus in Monster Mash.
Plus both songs are dance songs at the same time.
I said 1995, so sound alike songs existed even long ago.
I was curious to look up the Amanda Lear track you mentioned, and it reminds me of many of Army Of Lovers' tracks.
It amazing how sampling and inspiration works.

Even back in the 1970s there were songs where one had to listen to a few bars to distinguish one from another. I always thought "Mr. Big Stuff" and "The Cleanup Woman" sounded quite similar. At least back then there was no gimmicky auto-tune, which really makes flawed singing sound like that of those with more virtuous voices and better senses of pitch.

it's not that songs are "copying" one another, but that there are basic tempos/rhythms/melodies that compose pretty much all songs in the pop genre. plus if you look at the music engineers behind many of these songs you'll see the same names cropping up over and over. it's not a coincidence, and if you ever hear someone expressing that "all pop music sounds the same" then this is usually what they're getting at

They only really sound the same because they use the same notes and/or beat. It’s just coincidence. Also a lot of music is recycled, so it’s not much of a surprise when you hear a new song that sounds familiar to an older one

At the end of the fifth harmony song it says in parentheses “flex” because it’s sampling the original song “flex” this is done VERY OFTEN in ALL genres of music it’s SAMPLING. It gets even trippier when u notice producers like 40 and Kanye who sample songs and turn them into brand new songs with the same/ or different energy!
