I bought a Traxxas Slash 4x4 Fox edition myself and I am super happy with my purchase. At 13 I spent $500 and now I can be happy with my 60 mph car. You are so inspirational and I love your videos. Keep at it Kev!
There's so much to it than turning it on and running it it gets quite in-depth and a little geeky, dialing in suspension and geo more often than not to get it to run as straight as possible depending on the tarmac under your feet at the time. Obviously you don't have to do all that if your just fun bash drag racing but when you get down to chasing 0.1 of a second gain tweaking is needed.
I have this terrible vision that one day Kev's going to walk in singing "It's Christmas every day" as he throws a package on the bench, and we hear a crashing tinkling sound just as he remembers he's ordered something really fragile and it's smashed to feck. Would be really sad, but could also be comedy gold!
@Monkey Crusher yeah Jack is Local for me (central Florida) and he’s very knowledgeable on a very wide variety of cars and tech, I don’t know If that’s the jack Jvepps was referring to but he’s the only one I can think of and figured I would give him a shout. Of all the people trying to spread RC I watch MSM a lot, but let’s be honest, RC sells itself.

Big KT fan but as someone with a 22S Bullet powered by a 3.0T R1 Wurks motor with DRK ESC, it's kind of like listening to someone talk about how awesome their Tyco Bandit is. All you can do is be polite and smile and nod your head.
@@RecklessRacingNY Thank you sir. She's getting there. Currently running 2.3 on GNSS and a little better on timing systems. I have a lot more tuning to do. I started this madness back in April when I bought a DR10. Before that, I hadn't even heard about NPRC. Not to start a war but that's hands down the best "starter" drag car. It forces you to learn how to tune because of how slow it is out of the box. You can pretty much shave an entire second from box stock to prime time on 2S. And by that, I mean just simple gearing and suspension tuning. Today, the DR is my 13.5T. You should get into drag racing, theres outlaw class, box stock, 13.5 and more. Rc drag racing is really fun, that truck rips, that body is really tough
@@Boogie_the_cat of course you can shrink down the the length of the track down to 1/18 scale 1/4 mile which is approximately 73.5 feet long . This would simulate a real 1/4 mile track for a 1/18 scale car. I don’t believe handling would be compromised even at 1/18 scale.
If you buy a drag slash, I recommend replacing the rear tires with belted ones. I put belted tires on mine and even though the belted tires I found were skinnier than the original, they still got far more grip.
So I built one almost 2 years ago when the no prep craze started, 4.5 turn motor and mamba x esc. Needs a good quality high c 2s to make it good. On 2 s ive been as fast as 2.72 at 62mph. But here in the midwest I'm not even competitive. Hobbywing seems to be where its at.
I'm currently nearly done with a Slash based ground up build. It's mostly Pro-Line stuff and I'm already at $1,000 with no transmitter or batteries, lol The RTR's are a really good deal, considering
ah, i remember when i dumped a shit ton of money into my slash cause it was my first rc car, it was a really terrible idea imao, but maybe drag racing is different so idk.
@@Garf2O the Slash basically started the no prep drag trend. It's a very modular platform. The hardcore racers are starting to get more dedicated parts now, but you can make a really fun build with the Slash still. I'm returning to R/C after over 20 years and had never built one from the ground up so I went Slash-based just for ease of parts availability.
