Kerry Williams my friends live there all his life he says the city is way to dangerous at night time for madi gras.. I was thinking of going this year but I’m not.. he said he got out of a mugging in the city a few weeks ago.. but it’s still real fun to visit NOLA.. have some king cake if you go during the madi gras .
We went about 5 years ago to madi gras and we went the day/night before Fat Tuesday. We picked our spot for the parade the next morning, went home an overslept which worked out perfect coz the next morning during the parade right in the area we chose....was a shooting of 9 people in a crowd injuring several people.. especially a 9 yr old girl and an infant...that could a literally been us.. the guy who did the shooting was on an ankle bracelet from the cop shop instead of being in jail.. he walked down the street and opened fire in the crowd.. ruining it for everyone.. they should a had him behind bars😠.
So no more nights in the quarter it’s way to dangerous..

Been to New Orleans 4 times in the past 3-4 years. On the first trip, we, of course, did the "Haunted History" tour of "St. Louis Cemetery #1". And thoroughly enjoyed it. Every time we go, we do new and different things. About a year ago, we learned from another "UA-camr", that (for safety's sake) people are no longer ALLOWED into "St. Louis Cemetery #1" unless they are part of a tour group! (Too dangerous to roam around there by yourself!) How sad for the city and the tourism industry - that depends on visitors for it's existence and survival! (What about the tourists who cannot afford to buy a ticket for a tour group but just want to see it while they are there?) We can understand that it happened because the mayor, and the city, have allowed the so-called "homeless by CHOICE" situation to get wildly and dangerously out of control. Every time we visit, we see the radical changes. And feel less and less safe each time we go. These people are becoming bolder, more aggressive, and actually threatening each and every time we visit. It's totally out of control. When we say, "homeless by CHOICE", we can back up that statement - with photos of these "poor, sad, hungry" individuals - who then walk away and go to their parked vehicles (caught on film) - to make calls on their cell phones (also caught on film!) (It's become so bad that during our last visit, a few months ago, one "homeless BY CHOICE" person stabbed another - right smack dab in the middle of Jackson Square at 3:00 in the afternoon! We happened to be there, in the square, at the time but were inside the 1850's museum house at that particular moment. Thank God!) Now, you are saying that VIDEOS are no longer ALLOWED in "St. Louis Cemetery #1"??? (2:37 mark in your video.) Please enlighten us as to WHY?? What kind of explanation did they give you??? You can take photos but can't take any videos of the cemetery?? Are you kidding us?? Perhaps it has to do with another situation a few months ago where a few people were collecting money from tourists, charging them for "tours" of the cemetery - but weren't affiliated with any kind of "tour business" whatsoever? They just came up with a scam (that worked for a little while) where they charged people for "tours" they had nothing to do with? And they were able to line their pockets, at tourists expense? But then people caught it all on video? ( Look it up on UA-cam. They were rip-off artists who, we think, lost their jobs over it.) That would be a logical explanation as to why "videos" are no longer allowed. Would love to hear the explanation they gave you!!!! (Don't get us wrong. We LOVE New Orleans and were actually considering buying a 2nd home in the French Quarter. But now, we are just becoming too afraid to even visit there anymore - let alone invest in a property there.)

You are right. I heard there were too many people vandalizing the tombstones. But they could just have security guards there. Plus no video is strange too. I was going through my video footage and couldn't figure out why I was missing things. Then I realized that I wasn't allowed to take video inside the cemetery and many of the tours strictly said, "no video allowed" So I just did some quick highlights. I have lots of photos! :)

We can understand a tour company not wanting video taken because another company could copy their stories, etc. But for videos to be forbidden inside the cemetery? Who made up that rule? And for what purpose? That makes no sense.

The best thing to do is stay out of the city of New Orleans. In my opinion, it has become a sewer and tourist trap being run into the ground by Mayor Mitch Landrieu
