Southend fan here. Its very impressive what has been achieved at Exeter City FC, and its great to see them more than punching their weight in a very tough league. 🎉
I’ve always had a soft spot for Exeter City for some unknown reason, it’s great that they’ve been able to survive and now thrive as a well established League One club.
Good video and very much minds me of my team Falkirk. We are now fan owned and after 5 years in the doldrums we are on our way back. We have nearly 4000 season ticket holders and regularly sell out the home ends of our stadium. The corporate part of our club is also doing well with hospitality and sponsorship doing great too. Fan ownership is definitely the way ahead for smaller clubs, at least then you don’t have someone controlling your club who doesn’t have the clubs best interests at heart. Good luck to Exeter City 👍
How things have changed since 1977 when I first started supporting City. Huge improvements but I have great memories of the Cowshed, Tony Kellow and some great cup runs. Up the City!
Exeter city reminds me of what my home town team swansea was like 20 odd years ago nearly went out business and started all over again fair play to Exeter i hope nothing but the best for you guys
I'll never forget coming to exeter for the first time in 2008 . The amount of work that has gone into this club over the last decade its astonishing There is nothing like living close to SJP and hearing the cheers when we score .
What a fantastic story and well made documentary, always had a soft spot for Exeter, great club, hope Josh magennis does well for you,his goals fired us to the league one championship a few years back-Hull city loyal
Great story ... Devon needs both argyle and Exeter .. obviously I hate exeter city ( only in a football sense) but I'd never want them to go out of business......
@@joesphford7618it doesn’t matter, there’s THREE professional football clubs of the Far South West, not 2, there’s 3 corners of the county, not 2, I grew up with Torquay in League One & League Two, they need to get back here it’s so much better for the region then, likewise with neighbouring Yeovil. And yes as a Cornishman, I obviously want to see Truro play League Two or National League that’s one of my life goals. It’s so much better for the region then
Well told folks. We have a great club and we can be proud of how we run our club for the community and the long term future, not for the here and the now and the “roll the dice” gambling nature of many clubs.
WE OWN OUR FOOTBALL CLUB🔴⚪️ Call me soppy but this made me emotional, I’ve been watching city since I was 6, I’m almost 21 now. Playing in league 2 getting battered every other week, first game John o’Flynn scored a hat trick and that made me fall in love. Being able to do the flag waving on the pitch every now n then really meant something, being able to see the players I love up close and getting warm up tops off them etc🤣. We used to do it every game, one of the men in video would go round every stand asking who would want to do it and everytime there was loaddds of us wanting to do it just for the love of Exeter. I’ve watched us twice be beaten at Wembley and I tell ya now , that barrow game, when we got promotion was like a fever dream, celebrating with the players in the pitch, in tears , pyros everywhere😬🤣. What a club man, honestly. So proud to be able to support these lot, here’s to another special season. Especially after just reaching the fa cup 4th round for first time … since that united game 👀🔴⚪️
They're a shining example of what can be done, we tried it at Stockport but the ground and all non match day income went to Sale Sharks and we ended up in the National League North. It's wonderful to see it going so well down there. Edit: We almost got an FA Cup replay at Villa Park which would have made a big difference, such fine margins.
My Mams a Devon girl (silverton) I took here to the old Trafford game .should of had a penalty . I'm a stockport county fan but I'm half Devon n my mam is exeter 😊
and now the premier league clubs and the FA are slowly killing the game - Exeter's survival would not happen nowadays with the removal of replays, all in the name of reducing the number of games the biggest clubs play (despite that number being no greater than the average EFL side, with stronger, fitter and deeper squads)
Credit to those who had the b*lls to stand up & make complaints to the police. Yes, it led to chaos but the phoenix rose from the flames. I know, and all credit to Julian Tagg & others...
Really good video and Exeter are such an inspiration but just one question: on what basis are Exeter the "biggest" fan owned team? Is it by value of the club as AFC Wimbledon are also owned by the fans and the Dons Trust has more members and the club has a higher average attendance
Because you are a bunch of fannies. Jay Stansfield is worth more than you. Come on Rooney do your normal job and take them down to where the muppets belong

As A Swans fan I appreciate Exeter Grimes has been a fantastic captain for us, and now Josh Key is probably our best player 🎉
I agree as a fellow swans fan

Kind words mate from an Exeter fan. You have two really good players from us that deserved the move to the Swans. Wishing you all the best too.

We hate Plymouth jokes thank you from a Exeter supporter
Don’t forget Torquay lads, we need all 3 in the EFL, rivalries aside, UTBA💚

As an Exeter & football fan It's great to see Stockport back & in really good shape. Looking forward to visiting Edgeley Park Dec 7th
It really good place to go on a startday
Definitely how I want my club to be run
Ollie Watkins was product from Exeter
We created Brazil’s national team too❤️

Now in League 1 which is some achievement after what happened to them with fraudster owners ripping them off and putting them in massive debt.

🤣
10:31 women’s teams are a loss making venture subsidised by the men’s game. If Exeter wants to waste money on that so be it…😂
Shame about the swipe at Wrexham at 16.15mins. That guy needs to look at Wrexham's history.
It’s St James Park for goodness sake, not St. James’s🙄
it was St James' but they changed it to St James, not sure why really
Bin juice
no thats chesterfield
Exeter... biggest owned club? 😆 2nd....
Devon is Green 💚💚💚
Just the 10 goals conceded in the last two games then 👍🏻
@ Hiccup 🤣 Devon’s Green, always will be…..
Will Exeter City move to a another stadium ?
Can't see it happening imho
Only if your owner will pay for it 😁. Jokes aside no money for that but as always we will find a way to get something done.
No plans by the sounds of things!
