Seriously amazing Peter... The first American who go deeper inside our culture and trying really hard to understand our nature and our real life without misleading and misconception that lead by foreign media... I'm so glad that finally an American guy understands that we are really nice kindhearted people and very welcoming to the others.
I always fascinated by Saudi landscape and culture....now I can see though your videos.... definitely I will plan a trip to there. Love from india 🇮🇳. Bismillah aeerehman aeerahim. Almighty Allah.
I am always pleased to see people are good unlike what the media wants us to believe. Incredible view of Saudi Arabia and the incredible friendly people
The Western media claims to be anti racist with their BLM coverage but they are the ones pushing race into politics. It was the Western neo-liberal/neo-con media (namely CNN, BBC, Fox News, The Guardian) that pushed islamophobia to get people to support the illegal invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. And now they are doing the same thing in Europe.
@@tahanishangiti1393 Many in the western world have thrown the TV away for the lies they tell, 24/7. The new immigration flock towards democracy and of course that involves the TV. After a few years they to understand and know of the TV and it's blatant lies. God Bless.
I am a local and i would like to say that it takes courage to take a road trip in a foreign country that you knew a little about. i also admire the way you were analysing the culture through what you witness in your day very naturally in an accepting lovely manner. i absolutely love the adventure you went for. Hope you enjoyed your visit.
Oh man, the Oud isn't supposed to be smoked Peter, it is a type of perfume, they were telling you to get your face out because you're not supposed to inhale it. They just wanted its nice smell to get in your clothes basically a perfume for clothes and the air of the room when you have guests visiting.
As an arab Ibrahim is the type of person that I would vibe with 1000%. He's hospitable, respectful, friendly and hilarious. I really hope he finds the woman of his dreams, because humble and kind people like that deserve it. You're a legend Peter! Keep on showing us the world.

hello Peter i would like to thank you for these saudi videos its so amazing, if you still there please do more and go to different places, once again thank you and welcome to saudi arabia, greetings from Medinah !
At the end of your journey, please release a video review on the whole trip, how you found it, what differences did you notice, what did you expect and how it turned out, and finally, whether you’d recommend to some people or not. I loved your criticism on that some people here throw trash out of cans, I really hate it tbh Its not that I like criticism on my country, no I love it with my life 💚 but I like criticism where its due and praise where its due too. Edit: shout out to the guy you were with, he’s really knowledgeable mashallah !
Please be also honest about religious matters and don't be too Wester-centered. There are more than 1 Million Christian workers in Saudi Arabia, maybe you can try to talk to someone of them. However, you may/should wait until you're back home to make an eventually more critical video.
@@paulnieblas8231 These are religious beliefs of Shia Muslims (a group of Muslims). Taqiyya means you are allowed to lie about your religion if revealing it going to get you killed. And Muta is a timed marriage where you agree with your wife that the marriage will end in certain time frame.
The tent home up in the mountains is so marvelous!! Carpeted and many cushions! ❤ So beautiful. Ibrahim and his brother are super awesome. I think that incense is to fragrance your clothes, no inhale! 😊
What is popular is not always right, what is right is not always popular. You are doing an amazing job in broadening horizons and opening-up minds around the world. Eventually, this is what traveling is all about. Your journey will be immensely enriched with a look at the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia for sure. Keep the adventure going. You're going places with this mindset. Good luck and have fun. Be safe Peter.
Thanks for this wonderful, eye-opening series. Before watching your videos I had a typical western view of Saudi Arabia - which wasn't very positive. Now I can't wait to travel to Saudi Arabia and immerse myself in the culture and landscapes. Thank you so much for challenging my assumptions, Peter. Regards from Australia.
David Fletcher sadly you are right and because it was not open for tourism it was not corrected but a lot of Europeans work hear in saudia and they love it i met some Australians in south Africa they were so nice also hope you will visit soon
I’m really grateful that you are having a good time so far in Saudi Arabia. It such a nice thing when foreigners came all the way from different countries and see the reality not the things on the media. I really appreciate what you are doing Peter and I wish you good time there. Miss Saudi Arabia so much. Khalid 🇬🇧
It’s just so interesting to see the environment. Previously, I had to use my imagination when my Saudi students would explain where they were from and what the environment was like. 👍🏼✌🏼
Saudi policy is the best in the region.Saudi Arabia did not kill 4 million Iraqis, but rather America, the Shiites and Iran.Saudi Arabia did not kill more than 4 million Syrians, but rather Russia, Bashar and Iran.Saudi Arabia did not kill thousands of Lebanese, but rather Hezbollah and its militia.Saudi Arabia did not kill hundreds of thousands of Yemenis and threaten the security of Saudi Arabia in the south for the benefit of Iran. Rather, the Shiite Houthis killed them. Saudi Arabia did not expel millions from all of these countries, but rather America, Russia, Iran, the Shiites, Bashar and the Houthis deported them. Understand the words and tell the truth.
@@Leilaaa-xt2dzI suspect you have been consuming/fed pretty one sided and biased information. I agree that Saudi Arabia is a pretty well managed country, especially compared to other (big) surrounding countries. For a large part made possible by the wealth generated by the oil deposits. And also because Saudi Arabia was allied with the USA/EU and instrumental for the petrodollar system. And because of that was allowed a more stable society. Many other countries in the region weren't that lucky. You say "Saudi Arabia did not kill more than 4 million Syrians, but rather Russia, Bashar and Iran." I don't know from what year you start counting, but it seems like an inflated number. "Estimates of the total number of deaths in the Syrian Civil War, by opposition activist groups, vary between 503,064 and about 613,407 from March 2011 up to March 2023." Now let's assume that is an under-count and there were close to a million casualties. So indeed massive suffering and loss of life and about half of them innocent civilians. But to put the blame solely on the Syrian (Assad) government and their allies (Iran, Russia) IMO isn't accurate. The US department of State has declared in their public annual budget reports that around 2001 they started actively supporting opposition groups and media in an attempt to weaken the Syrian government to eventually cause a regime change. A couple of dozen million $ in the first years and growing to $300 million per year around 2010. And when Assad held on despite massive demonstrations an armed conflict began. I don't want to call it a civil war because foreign interference played a hue role in that. Similar situation in Ukraine, US State Department declared to have spend $5 billion in the decade running up to the Maidan protest and coup d'etat. Add 50% to those budgets from other sources like the EU and NGOs. Foreign actors destabilized those countries in an attempt to install their puppet ruler. In Ukraine they succeeded, in Syria they didn't. That's part of the reason countries like China have strict media control.
These are the type of random travelling experiences I wish I filmed during my travels. Love how you travel Peter! Thank you for documenting. Ahah your unexpected guide was such a cool guy- his amusement of your fear of bats was funny and the view from his house is breathtaking.

I'm very impressed with Saudi Arabia - and - Peter - your approach to a new experience with the people is just fabulous - I feel I'm right beside you - thanks for the ride ! 👍
Excellent guide, very smart, knows what is important and leaves out what is not, great work. Very educative show about this part of the world mostly ignored by Europeans and Americans.
20:30 it completely makes sense.. Ignorance isn’t a gift, but its sometimes called the “gift of ignorance” because one experiences the adventures of the unknown, until knowing them then its no longer an adventure haha And for the costume, you still respect and is proud about your identity of course, so wearing this costume only shows that you’re willing to blend with the culture and codes when you’re in the country. Having said that, if you wear jeans and shirts that doesn’t mean you disrespected the Saudi code whatsoever, but blending with the culture code is appreciated. Similar to when some Arabs travel to other countries, they’ll blend in the culture by not wearing thobes instead wear casual costumes or suit and tie in formal context. Wish you the best in ur journey !!
Everything you said makes sense except for the last part where you compared Saudi visitors of the US to the US visitors of KSA, it is true that it would be respectful and noticeable if you wear the thobe in KSA as there aren't many tourists from America. However, it doesn't really matter whether you wear a shirt or not in the US. After all, the t-shirt is an international costume and does not belong to the US only. On the other hand though, your statement would've been true if the country was lets say Pakistan or India as they have their traditional costumes. Hope it all made sense to you and sorry for the prolonged speech :)
Price Makes sense and thats fair enough, T shirts and jeans are not a costume, rather a universal/international one.. but I used it as an example be cause its like the norm in some countries, though what you said was correct Glad talking with you and exchanging views !
Oh wow this is a peace of history and gold. I can't believe we watching it free it's so worth every dime. Thank you for sharing Peter! I never thought of this of Saudi Arabia so friendly people and so amazing scenery

The first American who go deeper inside our culture and trying really hard to understand our nature and our real life without misleading and misconception that lead by foreign media... I'm so glad that finally an American guy understands that we are really nice kindhearted people and very welcoming to the others.

Yeah you're right the media are messing lots of things up pretty bad with misinformation
Bro u just read my mind ... Thanks for giving me hope that the truth of the media will be revealed
Trebor Seveer media is political like any other country there are good and bad but the majority are friendly and welcoming

They just wanted its nice smell to get in your clothes basically a perfume for clothes and the air of the room when you have guests visiting.

hello Peter i would like to thank you for these saudi videos its so amazing, if you still there please do more and go to different places, once again thank you and welcome to saudi arabia, greetings from Medinah !
At the end of your journey, please release a video review on the whole trip, how you found it, what differences did you notice, what did you expect and how it turned out, and finally, whether you’d recommend to some people or not.
I loved your criticism on that some people here throw trash out of cans, I really hate it tbh
Its not that I like criticism on my country, no I love it with my life 💚 but I like criticism where its due and praise where its due too.

@@paulnieblas8231 We don't know and never heard of it here in Saudi Arabia so it's not our place to answer. Try asking Iranians.

Now I can't wait to travel to Saudi Arabia and immerse myself in the culture and landscapes.
Thank you so much for challenging my assumptions, Peter.

Welcome to Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 💚💐
Thank you, teacher
I hope you are visiting Saudi Arabia and we are happy with your hospitality
@@Leilaaa-xt2dzI suspect you have been consuming/fed pretty one sided and biased information. I agree that Saudi Arabia is a pretty well managed country, especially compared to other (big) surrounding countries. For a large part made possible by the wealth generated by the oil deposits. And also because Saudi Arabia was allied with the USA/EU and instrumental for the petrodollar system. And because of that was allowed a more stable society. Many other countries in the region weren't that lucky.
You say "Saudi Arabia did not kill more than 4 million Syrians, but rather Russia, Bashar and Iran."
I don't know from what year you start counting, but it seems like an inflated number.
REALLY LOvE YOUR STORY TELLING. so real, so personal, so humane and raw honest. perfection !!!

20:30 it completely makes sense..
Ignorance isn’t a gift, but its sometimes called the “gift of ignorance” because one experiences the adventures of the unknown, until knowing them then its no longer an adventure haha
And for the costume, you still respect and is proud about your identity of course, so wearing this costume only shows that you’re willing to blend with the culture and codes when you’re in the country.
Price Makes sense and thats fair enough, T shirts and jeans are not a costume, rather a universal/international one.. but I used it as an example be cause its like the norm in some countries, though what you said was correct
Glad talking with you and exchanging views !
