I’m from Riyadh and I never been to any place you went to in Saudi.. It’s like learning about my country with you. Your not the only one who is Confused even us Saudi are confused since our country is very huge, every 10 km different accent, different features and different culture. That's why the more you travel the more confused your gonna be and it's become hard to find similarity between the place you visited. Good luck 💛

Wow again good choice Peter , Some Saudi people here expected you to spend most of your time in Saudi to visit modern Saudi cities like Riyadh and Jeddah But I think it is a chance for them to know many forgotten beautiful places in their country via your channel It is also a good Chance for local people to rethink about what does tourism mean I hope your channel would do this impact in the local people

You're doing a Fabulous job Peter , I really like the clear definition @ the beginning of your episodes because in many ways it is very distinct way of putting it and the Saudi people that I have met in Saudi and abroad and in my home city of Vancouver Canada also a west coast city have always been friendly, charming and funny and open to ideas both traditional and modern; some of my best times have been with the Saudi students who have traveled to Vancouver for outside studies. Cooking late night dinners with them, joking with them and also praying with them. It is worth noting for the record there was never any intoxication only good clean fun and I was always impressed by there ability to have a great time without it . I have been to the great Holy cities of Mecca and Medina and was also impressed with what I experienced both as a Canadian convert and a visitor, I would imagine Peter that you would be able to develop so many friendships along the way. Once last thing I would also recommend that you visit my wife's country of Morocco, where you will also take in a wealth of different cultures and experiences; there is also a mystique that exists in Morocco as well . I totally understand why you get these mixed feelings about saudia and i will state the reasons in this comment from a common saudi guy’s perspective ... the first reason is because you compare the lifestyle you saw in Riyadh to the lifestyle you saw in small villages like rijal and farasan island and i must say I am a saudi and i have never been to these places because it is still undeveloped The majority of people you‘ve met in this video are not even saudis but you get this feeling that we can relate to this kind of people& lifestyle but these are small villages very far away from the action. I must say saudi people are very diverse some of them are very strict and some of them are very very open-minded people but all of us are well-connected to the world! Enjoy your stay without getting these mysterious vibes about the country because there isn’t anything mysterious even though these feeling are what keep us excited haha. Enjoy your trip!

Lots of Saudi people take a nap during Noon, beside it's hot. It's better to vlog during evening time when everyone is out and you can see more activities and get to talk to lots of locals.
Most Saudis do not speak about politics because they are confident in their rulers and consider it a benefit to them, as well as the Saudis have strong loyalty to the government and the royal family because they participated in establishing the kingdom together and I also trust our rulers and they provide all the amenities for the citizen, for example if you are a university student they give you 1000 riyals per month except that You graduate and there is a social system to support the unemployed from work as well as the elderly as well as give us support for the high cost of living. Yeah people here are nocturnal creatures. Nobody really goes out in the daytime unless it’s for school or work. Around September to February when the weather gets a bit cooler is when people tend to come out in the daytime more often.

Saudi Arabia is a mystery but really my memories of childhood spent there is one of warmth, safety and love. Lots of love. As a kid I didn’t full appreciate all that Saudi had to offer. I thought it was too restrictive and hot! But looking back now, it made me who I am today and I only feel love and appreciation for my second home. It’s been 25 years since I left but I am Muslim so I will be back for the Hajj One day inshaAllah!!!!

I lived in Jizan for a two years 2011-2013. To get the best outta Farasan you need to rent a boat for the day and hit the outer islands.....fish, crystal clear water beautiful beaches. Nice video.

Must've heard that a thousand times. 😂 I watched your Iran series. Loved it. In my little corner of the world people aren't terrified of Iran. Many have visited, have Iranian relatives, enjoy their films... Now I'm working my way through the Saudi series. It's crazy to me that you thought it wouldn't be okay for you to tell people you're from the US when every other person you talk to has lived in the US. You look around and see dozens of US chain stores. Riyadh is being developed in a very American way as a car city. The US is the main Saudi ally after all. Incredible how MSM can convince people otherwise. There's plenty of info on Saudi if you know where to look. I've been following a Saudi girl on UA-cam for several years and after watching one of her videos I found you. The economic situation has always been a bit of mystery to me. It seems like most of the actual working class is foreign. I've never so many upper middle class and rich straight up hella rich people. A lot of the people I come across (in this series included) don't seem to "really work". Like, they have hobbies they call work but that wouldn't be enough to sustain their lifestyle. Kinda the definition of being rich (living off family investments perhaps?). I might be way off here. Gotta do my research better about this side of things. I'm really enjoying your content so far. There's another popular content creator here that also goes to interesting places, let's call them "Blue Traveler". Their content is overly dramatized for clicks and I'm not on board with that approach. Great job.

I am originally from Jizan and I have been in Farasan twice. I can tell you that it is amaaaaaazing but you should consider going there in the winter. Most of Saudi cities are wonderful during winter. Fiffa, Abha and Taif are high city so there are popular cities during summer. I really would welcome you as a guest if you would come back to saudia but after 2021 because I am doing my post grad degrees.

You're doing a Fabulous job Peter , I really like the clear definition @ the beginning of your episodes because in many ways it is very distinct way of putting it and the Saudi people that I have met in Saudi and abroad and in my home city of Vancouver Canada also a west coast city have always been friendly, charming and funny and open to ideas both traditional and modern; some of my best times have been with the Saudi students who have traveled to Vancouver for outside studies. Cooking late night dinners with them, joking with them and also praying with them. It is worth noting for the record there was never any intoxication only good clean fun and I was always impressed by there ability to have a great time without it . I have been to the great Holy cities of Mecca and Medina and was also impressed with what I experienced both as a Canadian convert and a visitor, I would imagine Peter that you would be able to develop so many friendships along the way. Once last thing I would also recommend that you visit my wife's country of Morocco, where you will also take in a wealth of different cultures and experiences; there is also a mystique that exists in Morocco as well . Hi, Peter! I totally understand why you get these mixed feelings about saudia and i will state the reasons in this comment from a common saudi guy’s perspective ... the first reason is because you compare the lifestyle you saw in Riyadh to the lifestyle you saw in small villages like rijal and farasan island and i must say I am a saudi and i have never been to these places because it is still undeveloped The majority of people you‘ve met in this video are not even saudis but you get this feeling that we can relate to this kind of people& lifestyle but these are small villages very far away from the action.
I must say saudi people are very diverse some of them are very strict and some of them are very very open-minded people but all of us are well-connected to the world! Enjoy your stay without getting these mysterious vibes about the country because there isn’t anything mysterious even though these feeling are what keep us excited haha. Enjoy your trip!

Lots of Saudi people take a nap during Noon, beside it's hot. It's better to vlog during evening time when everyone is out and you can see more activities and get to talk to lots of locals.
Most Saudis do not speak about politics because they are confident in their rulers and consider it a benefit to them, as well as the Saudis have strong loyalty to the government and the royal family because they participated in establishing the kingdom together and I also trust our rulers and they provide all the amenities for the citizen, for example if you are a university student they give you 1000 riyals per month except that You graduate and there is a social system to support the unemployed from work as well as the elderly as well as give us support for the high cost of living. Yes people don't go out in the daytime cuz it's so hot unless it's winter or in rainy days you'll find a lot of people out
The temperature is somewhat high so people go out in the evening and in the morning a little
Yeah people here are nocturnal creatures. Nobody really goes out in the daytime unless it’s for school or work. Around September to February when the weather gets a bit cooler is when people tend to come out in the daytime more often.

Saudi Arabia is a mystery but really my memories of childhood spent there is one of warmth, safety and love. Lots of love. As a kid I didn’t full appreciate all that Saudi had to offer. I thought it was too restrictive and hot! But looking back now, it made me who I am today and I only feel love and appreciation for my second home. It’s been 25 years since I left but I am Muslim so I will be back for the Hajj One day inshaAllah!!!!

I lived in Jizan for a two years 2011-2013. To get the best outta Farasan you need to rent a boat for the day and hit the outer islands.....fish, crystal clear water beautiful beaches. Nice video.
You must go to the mountainous areas and see the coffee farms, different people's habits and charming views. Jizan is a very large and varied area.

I watched your Iran series. Loved it. In my little corner of the world people aren't terrified of Iran. Many have visited, have Iranian relatives, enjoy their films... Now I'm working my way through the Saudi series.
It's crazy to me that you thought it wouldn't be okay for you to tell people you're from the US when every other person you talk to has lived in the US. You look around and see dozens of US chain stores. Riyadh is being developed in a very American way as a car city. The US is the main Saudi ally after all. Incredible how MSM can convince people otherwise. There's plenty of info on Saudi if you know where to look. I've been following a Saudi girl on UA-cam for several years and after watching one of her videos I found you.
The economic situation has always been a bit of mystery to me. It seems like most of the actual working class is foreign. I've never so many upper middle class and rich straight up hella rich people. A lot of the people I come across (in this series included) don't seem to "really work". Like, they have hobbies they call work but that wouldn't be enough to sustain their lifestyle. Kinda the definition of being rich (living off family investments perhaps?). I might be way off here. Gotta do my research better about this side of things.
I'm really enjoying your content so far. There's another popular content creator here that also goes to interesting places, let's call them "Blue Traveler". Their content is overly dramatized for clicks and I'm not on board with that approach. Great job.

I am originally from Jizan and I have been in Farasan twice. I can tell you that it is amaaaaaazing but you should consider going there in the winter. Most of Saudi cities are wonderful during winter. Fiffa, Abha and Taif are high city so there are popular cities during summer. I really would welcome you as a guest if you would come back to saudia but after 2021 because I am doing my post grad degrees.
