Your explanation was so helpful to me as I just got my loop recorder inserted on October 29/24 & your explanation was very helpful. I have CHD & DiGeorge syndrome & now life with AFIB. I’m almost 50 & I am very grateful for this video of yours. So thank you so very much ❤.
You explained this far better than my doctors did haha. Thank you. I had this implanted today and for anybody worried about the procedure it was easier than most dentist visits, completely painless and from incision to stitching it took around 1 minute so very quick!
Mine wasn’t completely painless, I definitely felt when it was inserted and also when they numbed it. She is correct, all I needed was a Tylenol the first day.
what’s the recovery like if any? I’m getting it implanted soon because I keep fainting without any reason behind it. Also would I still be able to go to the gym and so forth after.
I quick note that will make your day. My mother-in-law is in the ER and they want to do an MRI, but she only knows she has an implant and nothing else. By happening on your video I was able to figure out the brand and type enough to get the docs the info they needed to go ahead with her MRI, she's now in line instead of in limbo. You probably saved her life and definitely severely shortened her hospital stay. Thank you.
I’m 26, and and it’s so refreshing to see content from someone closer to my age. I’m getting a loop recorder soon and it’s so nerve wracking since all my diagnostic testing has come back normal despite two collapses.
I'm 29 and just got one as well. It's definitely nice know I'm not the only younger one. Especially when I get comments at the office about how I'm so young and tiny I am 😒
I just had the Medtronic Linq 2 inserted this morning in the EP lab. I have palpitations caused by PVCs and they've been difficult to catch and ablate. The Linq 2 doesn't require the external transmitter, instead it does it all through an app on your phone and still uses the little keychain transmitter.
You did an AMAZING 🤩 Job explaining everything about the device!!!! I am 56 with 2 sons that are young men around your age and they were worried. I sent them this video and they were SO relieved. For that, thank you! You should be proud of yourself and as a parent, I know your parents are proud of you! Good luck in your journey!!!
It has been good to watch you explain everything to know about your loop recorder. I have had my loop recorder for over 3 years to detect afib. Whenever I would have an episode which was around once a month I would receive a phone call the next day from my electrophysiologist tech to inquire how I am feeling . This is such a comfort. I no longer have afib . I had an ablation a year ago and no longer am on blood thinners . Recently the battery in my loop recorder stopped working . Even though I no longer have episodes I am going to replace this loop with another . Afib can return and then a second ablation can be done . I have the exact same system you have and it is a life saver when the patient has afib.
Thank you for this, my 2 young children both have to have implanted loop recorders and are waiting for a surgical date. Your video has helped me as a mum to better understand what's happening and how life will be afterwards. Thank you once again.
I have to get one which has been ordered and yes I am afraid but at 40 I will say to you I hope and pray your precious jewels will be safe and in perfect health 🙏🏾🙌🏾🦾🦿😘❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
I'm about to have one implanted. I've seen a couple procedure videos. From them and that detail you went into it seems like a very simple process. I very much know what you mean by cutting down on ER visits. I think also to a large degree it can also help with reducing anxiety which as we all know can make things worse. Thank you again for making this video and prayers tp you and your family!
I’m 23 and was just told I need a loop recorder earlier today. I was super freaked out and you helped calm my nerves a lot!! Thank you for explaining your story!
Happy I found your videos. I’m 31 with an ICD implant and it’s nice to see someone younger sharing their story . I had myocarditis at 23 and now a month ago went into sca after surfing bc of scarring from that incident. Anyways thanks for sharing
I plan to create more videos related to health equipment in the future! :) Do you have any specific suggestions that I could focus on for future video topics?
Thankyou for this video I’ve recently just had a blackout a few weeks ago and haven’t had one since 2018 I underwent test then and they couldn’t see anything and having to go through more in the upcoming weeks/months and this is one of which has been mentioned and I’m so nervous about it but this video has calmed me a little x
Thank you for this video! I just got mine today due to the fact that my heart stopped for over 5 seconds while wearing another heart monitor and that was recorded. Just before my heart stopped I had an ( aura attack) which is what the neurologists call your bodies alarm bells going off saying that I may or may not have a seizure. Both my neurologist and cardiologist believe that my heart might be contributing to my seizures which is why I got this device. So thank you again for making this video and nothing but good vibes your way!
Thank you so much for this. I had my heart loop recorder put in about 4 months ago. I have had no problems up to now, but as i have fibromyalgia which causes severe brain fog, tonight my brain just forgot how to send the message over to my cardiologist i found this video, you explained so clearly and my memory kicked back into action, and i sent it over Wonderful video Thankyou x
Thank you for a very informative and reassuring video, im having one fitted a fortnight from now 16th September 2024, I've been terrified but you have put me at more ease than I had before viewing your presentation, again thank you ever so much, love from David, the cowardly lion. ♥️♥️
Thank you for your fantastic explanation, I am going to have the loop recorder implanted today and didn't know what to expect. You are great, not only easy to listen and understand, but also very entertaining. - beautiful and pleasure to look at. Wishing you all the best,
Thank you for this video. I’m getting my loop recorder implanted in two days and feeling extremely nervous. Thank you for the info on metal detectors. You cleared up a lot of questions.
Please try not to worry..had mine done this week ..the corn on bottom of my feet was causing my more discomfort at the time they did it..the numbing bit .is a tiny sting for a second. That's worst part .you do feel pressure as they push it into tiny little hole they make ..I was pleasantly surprised how simple it was...
I still don’t get the metal detectors do they interfere with the signal or does it ruin the chip . I’m getting mine in 2 days and I’m so nervous I heard it cause heart don’t know how true that is please help me with some answers
@@boogerbears7207 What have you heard it does to the heart...check your answer first. Medtronics who designed and tested this device wouldn't be putting an.plant in to us that damaged the heart in any way. The procedure is painless...Tony bee sting scratch to numb the area..you will feel.pressure...but no pain. My corn on my foot was causing me jip.on the day not the procedure. It's all very Hi-tech. Very very clever stuff. You will be fine. Not looking forward to it coming out...🤔🧐
Im so glad I found this!! This is just like my story I was born without a tricuspid valve along with some other things and had the Fontan procedure and three open heart surgeries. I fainted in a gym doing Crossfit and had a heart attack shortly after too and they got me to have the loop recorder which has picked up some things and now I am getting it removed so they can see what's up with my heart Ive had it since then and I am 25 now
I'm having mine removed in two days time, currently looking through UA-cam at the procedures just to get myself familiar with it. I've had it in for just over two years now after I had a heart attack at hockey when I was 17. I had another episode that they couldn't diagnose where I had collapsed playing squash and dislocated my shoulder so thats when they decided to put it in. I'm 20 years old now and am still fit and healthy but likely that I'll need a defib or pacemaker. People thought my monitor was a telephone lol!
Having mine fitted soon as iv had a few fainting and palpitation fits. Your video was amazing as im a bit scared, but seeing your video im very reassured. Thanks very much 👍👏💪
This is really helpful! I'm having my loop recorder implanted on Thursday. I have bradycardia and my heart has been pausing for 3 - 4.9 seconds. I'm really trying to avoid a pacemaker, but sadly still might have one by the end of the month. Good luck with your ❤️ *Edit, ended up with a pacemaker only three weeks after my loop recorder implant was placed.
Thank you for your video, I’m glad I came across it! I am having a loop recorder inserted tomorrow morning. You provided some valuable info and insight. Best to you for the future. 19:55pm.
Well done you explained it great ,I've had one fitted over a week ago ,was a little bit difficult for me cause I have breast implants from cancer ,so did take longer to find a position suitable, it's hard to work out if I'm having flutters they come and go so quickly, do the hospital let you know if they can tell from the monitor...
Girl, you did a great job explaining what this device is all about. They need to hire you to be their human example 😂. Great job!! I'm going to have one next month. You made this look easy. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.❤❤❤
As I watch your channel, I begin to feel (almost) healthy - regardless of I wrote recently below one your video. And let's say I am so healthy I risk my health by entering to rooms with infectious patients (but I have not chance to avoid it - when I am in shift work with nurses). But on other hand, I successfully avoided to work on infectious diseases clinic (to be clear, when I worked on oncology ward, two teammates from other wards of the same hospital were too active in helping me to keep work in that hospital - and I am very polite and so I went to meet chief nurse of infectious diseases clinic -but I said why I cannot work there and she accepted it very well). All your limitations are very strong. Well, I cannot go to MRI, because I have three (or four) metallic staples on my sternum. And I have to say about it, if I have to pass metal detectors - but no more limitations related to passing metal detectors. And also, I don't know about any other similar limitations. But there is one thing I would like to ask, because it does not make me sense: What metal detectors do with that loop recorder that you cannot pass through? Because If I am not wrong, they don't use magnetic field (unlike MRI).
Just wanted information about to expect since doc told me I'll be getting one as soon as referral is approved by insurance. You did a great job with this video I must say. Seems like I've had AF for a while but just now finding out thanks to the harsh and painful episode of Ischemic colitis. After haulter and other test the loop recorder is what's next because of the 2.5 sec. Pause that I barely notice. Well thanks again for the insight on what to expect especially the metal detectors.
Greetings from South Korea! One good things about getting English education is that i can access to information explaining my CHD treat conditions! Really helpful video clip and i cant agree more that you explain user-friendly Loop recorder instructions better than my docs!! 😅😅 thank you~!
Hello Marissa my name is Ben. I am 32 years old and have CHD as well. I am loving your videos. I have also had 3 open heart surgeries. One at 3 days old, the second one at 2 years old, and the third one at 4 years old. I just had the loop recorder implanted on September 2. If you ever want to discuss what we been through and compare notes let me know. Keep up the great content.
thank you so much! sounds like you may have gone down the single ventricle pathway as well? :) feel free to message or find my facebook/instagram pages if you'd like to chat and/or keep in touch!
Thank you! I’m looking at having this done as a step prior to being sure if a Pacemaker is required, having suffered a couple of syncope episodes. Very helpful. Many thanks Dean In New Zealand
Just viewed this Your giving a lot of confidence to parents aka me and young adults Daughter had Revel before pacemaker born with complete AVSD She’s naw 25 teaching with need mitral valve replacement shortly but doing great 😘
thanks for covering metal detectors, MRI screens and how to transmit when needed. I do have concerns when traveling, like on a cruise and if the recorder will be able to transmit when needed.
I am so glad I came across this video. I will be having a loop recorder put in on July, 7th, 2023. I have SVT but had an ablation done in 2019 to correct it but we think it may be coming back. I wore the heart monitors but my skin is to sensitive and the patches puts holes on my skin. I’m a 29yo Female
Hi, can you tell me how you are doing? I’m supposed to get one in about a week. I, too have SVT and an ablation, but I’m still symptomatic. They keep telling me all is good and it is just anxiety.
@@jamdownstar8100 I am doing well with it. Recovery took about 2-3 weeks. For me it did hurt when they put it in because they can’t numb where your breast tissues is as easily. They think I have something called Atrial Tachycardia. I had a few symptoms of that but have not had any in awhile. I am on beta blockers now to lower my heart rate and it seems to be working.
I just learned yesterday my doctor recommended one. The abalition didn't take with needing to use propathol. I'm 73 and your video really helped me. One question: Does it affect what type of tops you can wear? Great presentation as I am on both sides of the microphone. Reach out & let's talk. Coach
Had the procedure done this month with the app serving as my monitor being I have a history of passing out without knowing when or a leading cause, and without any unusual heart palpitations however, certain expects such as travel devices to avoid weren't told in detail how to avoid, so thanks. Also, still waiting for the strips to fall off hoping it closes up without me having to be stitched or reinserted.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I'm having one fitted in March and I'm feeling nervous about it but also I'm looking forward to having something that hopefully will show what's happening to me. I think I'll feel much safer x
Thank you for this! It was quite informative. And you are very clear & articulate in talking about this monitor. So this was very helpful. 👍 I hope you are in good health 😊
Thanks for this informative video. I just got my Boston Scientific lux-dx today and this gave me several questions to ask when I fo back in a week. Mine uses a dedicated cell phone as the bedside transmitter and it also functions as the symptoms recorder.
Very helpful! Thank you for posting this video. I get one tomorrow, and have been wondering. If going travelling, I assume you need to take the whole transmitter station with you, right?
This was very helpful. I’m getting one implanted within the next month. Not sure it’s this kind, but it sounds like it. I’m confused what the difference is between using the device on top of the home machine when you get home vs using the smaller gray one. Is the smaller one cellular so it sends it to you cardiologist from wherever you are? Thanks for the great video
Extremely helpful! I will soon get one of these. Very helpful to know about the phone, light switches, security screeners, and MRIs. Also you pronounced "tesla" correctly😃.
How long did you have to wait to be able to drive again after your loop recorder insertion? I am having this done soon and want to know what to expect in that regard.
I have one and was under the impression that it could give EKG type readouts to the electrophysiologist. With recent invents I’m beginning to think it just alerts when an abnormal symptom occurs. My issue was I was on a medication for a week in order to get back in rhythm. My doctor asked me to send a transmission after a week to see if I converted. I did that and he responded that I was still abnormal. I told him I felt better and my $200 fit bit is telling me I am in normal rhythm. I sent him my EKG report from my fit bit and now am scheduled for an office visit to do an EKG. This Fitbit has potentially diverted me from a $5000 plus Cardioversion that we were on track for. In a few days. So what I am saying is apparently the loop recorder does not act as an ekg and give that type of read out. I was thinking that the loop recorder reading would easily take prescedence over a cheap fit bit watch reading. Anyways, if I get a response, I will update. Just sharing my thoughts. Thanks
I was jazz cuz finally they could see the various antics my heart does, inc. Pheochromacytome, but as soon as you mentioned needing internet, I was sunk. Being on SSI, I can't afford it. I have no neighbors (my closest friend died last March) & I only get to town once a week.😢 But Thanks anyway for the brief moment of hope.
just got mine yesterday. They're trying to figure out why I had a stroke a few months back, so they put this in yesterday. Hopefully I can still lift weights and golf with no problem with this thing in.
I had my loop recorder put in February 5, 2024. It is now February 16, 2024. The monitor that is by my bed is not working properly still. Did the loop recorder ever help them discover new information about your heart. Do you still have it?
Thank you - you explained this so much better than my Electrophysiologist 🖤
I just had the Medtronic Linq 2 inserted this morning in the EP lab. I have palpitations caused by PVCs and they've been difficult to catch and ablate. The Linq 2 doesn't require the external transmitter, instead it does it all through an app on your phone and still uses the little keychain transmitter.

I also have pvc’s and just had it put in today as well. It’s very soar tonight I hope it heals quickly

Thank you so much. I've been today that I will be having one fitted. Your video explained everything.
Thank you
Thank you so much for this information. My cardiologist recommended one of these monitors. I'm doing some research before I make the decision.
Thank you, very helpful. I will be having my Loop Recorder installed in the next couple weeks.
I’m getting the loop next month. Thanks for this helpful info.
Thank you!
I’m looking at having this done as a step prior to being sure if a Pacemaker is required, having suffered a couple of syncope episodes. Very helpful. Many thanks

Wow! This is so helpful! Thank you!
Thank you! I'm getting one next month and your video has helped answer some of my questions
Just viewed this Your giving a lot of confidence to parents aka me and young adults Daughter had Revel before pacemaker born with complete AVSD She’s naw 25 teaching with need mitral valve replacement shortly but doing great 😘
Thank you for explaining. I am getting one in 2 weeks
thanks for covering metal detectors, MRI screens and how to transmit when needed. I do have concerns when traveling, like on a cruise and if the recorder will be able to transmit when needed.
You have to be within cell phone coverage. Some small ships might not have it.
Thank you! That was super useful!
Very well explained I had loop recoder implanted yesterday, and my medtronic reciever is not working its not connecting to my loop device.
Thank you for sharing. I went to a cardiologist today and he mentioned possibly getting one depending on the results of my holter monitor.
Very wee explained. It is so useful for me since I have implanted pacemaker. Baskaran IGP Rtd.India Tamil Nadu State
Thank you! I will have one implanted next month.
Coach
Mine was just implanted on the 20th of feb. My implant is connected to an app on my phone and a little magnet I used to connect it to my phone.
Thank you so much for sharing this very informative video! I have learnt a lot and it gives me hope that there’s such devices to help people.
Very informative, thank you
You explained it well in January of 2025 I will be getting one implanted to check my heart rhythm due to signs of a stroke I had in March
Thank you very much I'm not worried anymore you made it very clear
Thank you for the education on the loop
Thanks for sharing your experiencie! Really helpful
I had a loop recorder installed November 1st, so hopefully it will help find out why I am passing out
Thanks so much for sharing this.
I hope you are in good health 😊
Thanks for this informative video. I just got my Boston Scientific lux-dx today and this gave me several questions to ask when I fo back in a week.
Mine uses a dedicated cell phone as the bedside transmitter and it also functions as the symptoms recorder.
Very helpful! Thank you for posting this video.
I get one tomorrow, and have been wondering. If going travelling, I assume you need to take the whole transmitter station with you, right?
This was very informative and easy to understand. Thanks
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GREAT VIDEO!!!
I had one put in this week.they downloaded an app to my android phone soI dont need these machines.much less hassle
Extremely helpful! I will soon get one of these. Very helpful to know about the phone, light switches, security screeners, and MRIs. Also you pronounced "tesla" correctly😃.
Thank you for sharing , im so scared to have this done in two weeks time this has helped a little im just terrified x
Thanks 👍🙏 This helps me a lot 😊 I will have my monitor inserted on 31.10
How long did you have to wait to be able to drive again after your loop recorder insertion?
I have no neighbors (my closest friend died last March) & I only get to town once a week.😢
But Thanks anyway for the brief moment of hope.
Can you go to work right after or does the doctor gives you sick leaves of so, how many days ? Thx in advance ?
I need a loop recorder but I go outdoors a lot. No service or I’m out of state. How does it work then??
Thanks for this! Where can someone get a patient assist? I thought it was weird a mobile device didn't come with the bedside device.
just got mine yesterday. They're trying to figure out why I had a stroke a few months back, so they put this in yesterday. Hopefully I can still lift weights and golf with no problem with this thing in.
Did you have sick leaves or you can go to work right after ?
@@xoloveskhun7008 I went right back to work.
Thank you for creating this! I go in shortly to get mine implanted. Question, do you have access to your transmissions too or just the doctor?
