- Hungarian vowels (a, á, e, é, i, í, o, ó, ö, ő, u, ú, ü, ű) and words for practice the correct pronunciation
I started a project called 'Surviving Hungary' to help my foreign friends in speaking Hungarian (I was inspired by talktomeinkorean.com whom I am so much thankful!!!). I'm not a teacher and cannot speak English that much to be a professional but I hope that I can help everyone who are trying to speak this really hard language :)
Loved the mouth-shape approach.
This is so very helpful! I love how you describe how your mouth is shaped when saying certain vowels! Its just like in my Korean class. Hearing them being used in words helps so much where just reading them doesn't. Thank you so much!
Thanks lovely brothers and sisters. Hoping to work in Hungary soon😊
You and your little brother have made learning these vowels very fun! I really enjoyed hearing you laugh. Thanks!! :-)
KÖSZÖNÖM SZÉPEN from Brazil :D
CARAIIII UM OUTRO BRASILEIRO APRENDENDO HÚNGARO!!
I love your video! Very informative! By the way, in English, we would say "Differentiate" (DIFF-er-IHN-chee-ate) instead of "make differently." To differentiate means to show how things are different from each other. Again, thanks for your lesson!
This was very helpful especially with the hard vowels that I was having trouble with. It gave a better understanding! Thank you!
Thank you so much! This video is very useful. (Hello from Vietnam) :)
Thank you for the help. Its very difficult for me to make half of these sounds :)
I am trying to study Hungarian. Your videos are fun and helpful. I hope you will make more videos.
This language is pretty difficult, I wish SUCCESS to everyone who wants to learn Hungarian!
Not at all just different
@@tjmieczynskyj3393SUPER, I'm glad to hear this, once again success in learning of the Hungarian language!!!
My grandfather is Hungarian and I like the language so I try to learn it but the CASE SYSTEM MAN. THE CASE SYSTEM IS WHAT GETS ME. the vowels are pretty easy but the CASE SYSTEM BRO
and the word order and the fact that its agglutinative
@@spuditgang The cases of the noun are not difficult in Hungarian, this is not the most important difficulty. Rather, I think that the agglutinative forms are more difficult, more precisely "gluing" the prepositions (in fact POSTposition in Hungarian!) to the noun. And the words order in the sentence is like in the Germanic languages, Hungarian was modernized in the 19th century according to German language model, which is obviously similar to English. Pronunciation is more difficult, as far as I know, becuse the similarity of the vowels from the Latin or Germanic languages are rare. But if you say that is not a difficulty for you, it's SUPER!!!I Well. I don't know if I was objective in what I wrote, I speak Hungarian natively being my first language. I wish you good luck in learning of Hungarian language!!!
It's helpful and fun!Thanks!
Thanks, helps a lot. Nagyon szépen Köszönöm!
Thanks very much for this I'm applying to get Hungarian Citizenship next month I have multiple ancestors who were from Hungary and born before 1920 giving me and advantage above others. I just need to study the language a little more and your videos helped! Thank you vm.
Good that I studied French, helps me with the doubled dotted and doubled accented o and u.
oui, hereusement! à moi aussi.
Can you make a video on vowel harmony?
thank you very helpful I will be visiting your country for the first time in july . looking forward to the experience .
@1004cheonsa hmm.. Hungarian is quite different because it is an agglutinating language like Korean.. and the grammar is really really hard for a foreigner I think! But as you can speak Japanese and Korean maybe Hungarian won't be too horror :D We will do our best to present Hungarian language in a funny and simple way!!!
Thank you very much for this video, I love the fact you were using your brother Benedek (?) to teach, thanks once again.
very very useful video..thanx for posting.
still very confused though..gonna have to watch again. i recently started learning hungarian..lets see how far i can get.
Quite easy for me as a Swede. We have the same pronunciation in out language.
But we use "U" instead of "Ü and Ű" and only have" Ö" which has a long and a short sound. Hungarian vowels makes sence! U in hungarian will be a short O sound in Swedish and Ú a long O sound in Swedish.
Quite interesting video. I found the consonants more tricky.
great lesson. thanks!
this girl in the video has awesome voice :-)
You have a great voice :)
This is a really good example....love the mouth pictures...makes a lot of sense. This is one of the most difficult parts of Hungarian...these damn vowels...I am going to practice using this video. Család Magyarorszagon van. Akarok tanulni magyarul
Nagyon szépen köszönöm!
:DDD I am looking forward to read your comment when the video about consonants will be released soon
really fun, thank you very much
thank you, it's a good explanation, i have a friend from Hungary n i want to greet her in Hungarian language :)
Hahhaha yes, not easy :) I live in Hungary:) I am Hungarian! Once away is needed visit to us! Köszi
It is very useful :))
örülök, ha a videóim segíthetnek! természetesen a youtube-ra feltöltött videóink szabadon felhasználhatóak, amennyiben tiszteletben tartják a szerzői jogokat :)
Thanks again. Also, noticed the Korean at the end. Is Korean culture/music big in Hungary?
K-pop is VERY popular.. :D
Jyoshi92 went to Hungary last semester. It wasn't at all lol. At least compared to France or Brazil
Kevin Chon We don't like K-pop we don't like Koreans! Hungary is with Japan!
Luki Manus
igen. I saw nothing of both lol.
Thanks for this video
NICE LESSON
köszi! :)
Thanks!
it's very helpful thnks
Köszönöm! :)
I have been completely lose .... I do not know now what kind of language they speak. I also know that my English ..... I'm not sure. XD I love this video and comments like them: D.
[I'm sorry. I am learning English but I cannot write properly.]
thank you
or if you use mozilla then there is an option for downloading mp3 or mp4 format of al videos on the net
hmm.. we should make a video about greetings!!! this is one of the most important surviving tasks :)
thanks.
Thanx
oh GOD, how many years I will need?! thank you
looks a lot harder than it really is....
Köszönöm
The girl speaks Hungarian perfectly, of course. But her English is also excellent.
but é and í sounded absolutely same
in rém and rím
just perfectly same
so i was wondering if there would be anybody out there willing to help me with my hungarian. i have been at it for about 2 years now have tried countless books and cd roms and have gotten nowhere. i would like to learn hungarian so i can actually talk to my grandfather back in hungary and know what he is actually saying lol. so please if some one has a little time to help me please.
It would be much more useful and practical if instead of including so many comments, laughs, explanations and warnings you just listed the vowels and proceded to give us the right pronunciation. Thanks any way for your effort.
This is crazy *_*. Ok, practising I can make my vowels sound right (i think), but is impossible to distinguish when somebody is saying something!
how am i gonna learn this??? I'm doomed😂😂😭😭 ááá!
Very good; Hungarian is so weird to me, but this video really helped it seem less,... strange, I guess.
Sorry, but when your younger brother say á, I still hear "a", not "o". Why is that?
"u" is not high at all, it's the deepest actually.
03:25 owls should handle that well..
Wowel
For me vowels are the only hard part of languages like Hungarian, Turkish, etc.
VVVVVVVVowels! :)
great video, thanks
Also, your English is really good but at 10:17, it’s practice, not practise. Overall, good job.
I find hungarian vowels easier than turkish ones
The screen is so white it hurts my eyes. It is really horrible.
wowels. lol. jk thank you so much
I am pretty certain there is no difference in length.
they're called long but they're not literally longer
William Wallace
Learning Magyar is to easy. ..
How about some Gesztenyepüré with real whipped cream along some real Turkish coffee of course you have to share with friends ( no smoking please ) ...☕
